What a magical moment. I lost a piece of my childhood when Mr Clark passed away a long with the comic duo. I'm not mentioning any names because the odd couple both deserve top billing. It’s a shame that most young people today will never appreciate the genius of Roy Clark. Truly a master guitarist, only rivaled by Les Paul and Eddie Van Halen for their mastery of this instrument. However, Roy Clark was a prodigy, skilled in many instruments and blessed with a wonderful singing voice as well. If I had to make a choice, I would have to say, Roy Clark was the greatest musician the world has ever known. R.I.P. Roy, there will never be another like you.
I still watch The Odd Couple one of my favorite shows in the late 70s early 80s I got it on Netflix I could watch them over and over and over again never gets old
Jack Klugman had many good things to say about Tony Randall in his book "Tony and me." Roy Clark is really something else. Better than "Hee Haw" let him show.
I've seen Hendrix,Clapton,Harrison, and Coryell multiple times live; but this guitar solo by Roy Clark has always stuck in my memory. Thanks for uploading this classic.
I've seen this episode of The Odd Couple a thousand and one times my favorite favorite show growing up as a kid and The Honeymooners I'm not that old I'm 56 this guitar solo that he does amazing❤❤
No, according to IMDb, it's Albert Paulsen. When Penny Marshall (Laverne) played Oscar's secretary Myrna Turner, Gary M. appeared as her brother Werner Turner, in a cameo.
Some smokin' fretwork from Mr. Clark. I love the harmonics at the beginning. He's playing borderline metal on those runs. The final Odd Couple season gets unfairly slagged. It included some of their best episodes. Klugman and Randall were so in the zone by then it's effortless yet completely on point. Creatively I think the show was just reaching its peak, and had at least another 2-3 year run at that high level. They took some great chances with storylines too, giving Randall and Klugman a chance to show some different sides of both character and their acting prowess. The 5th season deserves more credit. The show had not peaked, it was still creatively in ascent. Though I hate the generic blue screen they used as background for closing credits.
Mr. Komnikoff looks like a cross between Bela Lugosi and Christopher Lee....Roy Clark what an amazing talent of classical guitar, banjo, and fiddle. 🎧🎼🎻🪕
