It's the first I hear him sing, but Tainted love is so good I have hardly heard anyone really manage to make it sound bad yet. But the Original from 1964 is the best version.

I bought tainted love by soft cell in 1981 and it is still in my top ten fave choons - this version has just blown me away!

I can see the 'dislike' for the Piezo Pup sound (quack), as it's something that can drive acoustic players nuts who are out for that pure acoustic tone....Esp w/ all the pickup systems available today. However, all of that comes to end here w/ these guys. Incredible covers w/ superb playing & vocals to match. Given what they've got...it works extremely well
