+Brian Miller I found out about Lockhart's goon grease and O'douds through Cameron and they are amazing. Shear revival and Pomps not Dead are my next pomades to try!
I have all of these pomades they are all awesome. Very high quality. Some new ones that have came up that are in the same category are stay sharp. Ominous embalmers grease medium hold. Both reuzel heavy and medium hold. Ominous water based. Very high quality pomades.
I always give myself this one rule: ALWAYS read and watch reviews for pomades before getting them. Because I typically find pomade products that I like by doing this. And I am able to learn which pomade brands are not worth buying and using for many reasons.
Bro, I can't fi d a good one for a slickback Roberto Duran typa thing. What should I use suavacitos or whatever was looking good but people said it sucked and I cant find a y good info
Picking some of these up. 2-3 to start with. Big fan of Pomade's, Waxes, Fiber and Gel and just getting into them. Water based Pomade is my favorite though.
Hey man thanx for making all these great videos I watch them all the time. I've tried a lot of different pomade based on your reviews and have never been disappointed! I just talked with Steve lockhart who lives about a half an hour from me an he told me where to find Goon grease locally so I just picked up a tin and going to try it tonight thanx again man!
It's been a year today that this awesome video was posted by this Pomp legend Cameron. Miss you dude, can't wait for you to be back in 2017 from your mission!!
Cameron, I have thicker hair than anybody I have ever met, and it has a long wave to it as well, which prevents me from using products in the same way as other people can. Multiple stylists have said as much. None of the Baxters can keep a hold for more than the time it takes me to get out of the door- as an aside, neither can a gel, wax, or paste, for that matter. Yes, I've tried wet, damp, air-dried, blow-dried, towel-dried, mixing, etc. Nothing works. Any thoughts you can offer would be great. Style is classic, med length (currently 5"-6", but growing), with a low zero fade. Thanks.
My fav pomade is Morgan's. OB, light hold, nice subtle scent. Unbeliveably easy to wash out with only slight buildup in one washing. Wish you would try it and review it, brother. Good luck with your recuperation!
goon grease over pnd og? i would really have to disagree. but to each is own! id like to see more of a best pomade list in more of a best of each kind of pomade format. like best oil base heavy medium light , best orthodox water base and best new water base. something like that.
My all time favorite is still murrays superior. It is the best medium pomade I've ever used nothing comes close. Easy application, great build up, amazing hold, great sheen, and cheap as dirt.
Hey, since you have tried lots of pomades, I need you to tell me the best water soluble pomade which does not have sweet/vanilla/fruity/flowery scent. I want something that smells masculine/mint/cologne scent... for thick hair ( preferably medium shine/medium hold) and also washes out easily. Thank you.
anal excitement How's the hold? My hair is an undercut grown down to my chin so it's pretty long. I'm gonna need something with a good hold to last throughout the day at work. I'm in Canada by the way so prices are gonna be a bit more expensive.
+Lusin the hold is really light and it's really greasy and shiny. I recommend a higher hold if you're going through work though. so a cheap high hold pomade can be murrays if you want that.
Hello, I am looking for a pomade like this for women. I hear you mention scents, does this have a strong cologne scent or is it just cucumber/lemon scents?
where can i find all these different ypes of pomades? nline or any hair salon stores? having some hard time in Southern Cali and for some reason i cant trust axe since they also carry some pomades
Unorthodox water bases are cool, but I just prefer gel types or oil based . The Odoud's water base was my next in line from Odoud's line that I like though. That's good stuff
hey cameron, currently I am looking for a heavy hold pomade to try. So far I've alway been a medium and light hold user. So I was fonna ask whether you'd recommend reuzel pink (16€) for 4oz or goon grease (20€) for 3.5oz?
camerona145 Thank you! I went to my shop, and they had run out of goon grease, so I ended up getting Reuzel. It's probably along schmiere mittel one of my favorites so far!

i've recently started using Royal crown after watching your video and man I completely agree that there is just something about it that just went right.
camerona145 In your opinion,w hat are the main characteristics separating traditional storebought (your Murray's, Nu-Nile, etc.) from the more obscure ones that you tend to prefer? Is the money you are spending worth what you're getting in terms of hold (I have very thick wavy hair similar to yours)? Like, do the pomades you prefer hold three times as good as Murray's?
Not 3 times as good as murrays, try one million times better. Literally every quality is better in a home brewed pomade. Scooping, scent, hold, versitility, breakdown, buildup,
Nope man. Search "unorthodox water-based". The gel-pomade era is almost dead. Shear Revival Cristal Lake. Anchors Aweight Co. Teddy Boy. O'Douds Multi Purpose Pomade. They're a lot of good water-based now.
What are your thoughts on Sweet Georgia Brown? I'm currently using that as my oil based. I have thick, textured hair with a combover look going on. Idk if i'm using the right stuff or not?
I really need to quit procrastinating and buy some Royal Crown Pomade. I also really want Shear Revival Elm Street, but it's sold out at every vendor! One of these days.
camerona145 Thanks man. Wow, I'm stupid lol. I meant Crystal Lake... Maybe I should just buy TOWK Pomade and Elm Street. I also want Daimon barber, but I might have to wait a couple of paychecks after my bills are caught up for that HAHA! Plus, excellent breakdown of those pomades. Job well done.
i enjoy your reviews and appreciate the work and effort, it is very helpful to us noob's. i have used a water based called Woody's. while still new to pomades, i would like to know what others like yourself think of it. it dries not overly hard and has a wax type feel to it. i wear an old fashioned undercut, slicked back but lifted just a bit at the front. i have good experience so far with it, and would really like to see a review on it. other than woody's, i have suavecito firme. which i can work with when styling, but once it sets, its like glue. while the woody's stays more pliable. i have some embalmers grease on the way, along with o'douds water based, and a anchors teddy boy original in transit, all thank to you. keep the reviews coming, they are great!
+Cameron A I actually can't stand woodies, for me it dries like gorilla glue in my hair, I can't comb it without pulling out my hair, and NOT POSSIBLE to wash out, hurts soooooo bad to wash
Another great video, thank you! :) Have you tried High Life pomades? I really enjoy Voodoo Brew/Voodoo Island./High Life Heavy. I've got really, really thick hair and this stuff is amazing :) After watching your video I realized that I still missing Royal Crown!
TheNo85307 The High life pomades when downhill after they were bought out by Dax, and I have never been fond of the scents. They are just average to me, nothing special.

I thought you will mention the reuzel pink pomade
man ! your pomp is just magnificent !
Cameron 'absolutely loves' these products!
I can feel your honesty and passion for pomade, bought some goon grease online
"I absolutely love it"

Aaron of course they're "so good" cuz he's talking about his favorites. Check out his suavecito video if you want some different language.
I haven't used goon grease in months and after I saw this video I threw it in the hair and man, I forgot how great this product was.

Damn! I was expecting Reuzel Pink somewhere in there. You seemed to be praising it in the review. 😃
excellent list. I have pretty much all of them and couldn't agree more with your evaluations of them.

I miss these reviews 🤘🏽🤘🏽 hope all is well
2024 anyone?
I’m looking for a medium hold high shine pomade for a slicked back Elvis/greaser look. Could you recommend some pomades for me? Thanks
Great video. Why do you prefer the lights over the heavies? Is it because of your type of hair?
a collection of hair products... colgate and oral-b will start you off on a great toothbrush collection.
My all time favorite is still murrays superior. It is the best medium pomade I've ever used nothing comes close. Easy application, great build up, amazing hold, great sheen, and cheap as dirt.
Bù Metsu Wrestling Definitely would agree. However, with my experience, I get a LOT of tug and pulling on the application.
yeah me too, but that's like with every oil-based pomades, they are great but too old dated.
I prefer unorthodox or water-based pomades holds.
DElena's Co, it would be my favorite pomade to use, also, but applying Murray's Superior Hairdressing Pomade to my hair is a pain.
Judge Dredd, you would be surprised on how easily most oil-based pomade is applied to hair. Take Royal Crown Hairdressing for example.
Hey, since you have tried lots of pomades, I need you to tell me the best water soluble pomade which does not have sweet/vanilla/fruity/flowery scent. I want something that smells masculine/mint/cologne scent... for thick hair ( preferably medium shine/medium hold) and also washes out easily.

xoxoSM m try Corleone pomade
Reuzel Blue
As a guy who doesn't have a shit ton of money, I must ask you, what is the best bang-for-the-buck pomade? I've only tried Black and White.
my favorite is Royal Crown. it's around 7 bucks for about 4 ounces.
anal excitement How's the hold? My hair is an undercut grown down to my chin so it's pretty long. I'm gonna need something with a good hold to last throughout the day at work. I'm in Canada by the way so prices are gonna be a bit more expensive.

anal excitement Murray's are cheap! I'll give them a shot.
+Lusin hope you like it my man. hope I could help as well
I see this video was published prior to your review of Reuzel Pink. Would you add Reuzel Pink to this list now? If so, where would it stand?
Could you put down the names of the pomades on the description or something? I would really like to buy some.
Have you used railcar standard hold? Love the scent on that!
Which one is good for a tight slicked back style ?almost like a greaser look. I have really thick wavy hair. I like a straight slick back
Your Pomp is perfect here brotha. What kind of Pomade did you have on in this video?
Fairly certain on my LDS mission we used to come to your house on P-day hahaha nice review
Out of these pomaded that you listed, what do you think is the best for a slicked back undercut?
Where is Reuzel pink,i thought you really liked it.
any suggestions for a stronger holding pomade for slicking hair back and won't harden like gel?
no shiner gold? both the psycho hold and heavy hold have worked wonders for me
For Shear Revivals line which one of the oil based would you prefer and which ever you choose vs Odouds Original
Goon grease is great!! Have you tried any of the high life voodoo brew??? Both voodoo brew and goon grease are my go to pomades. Love the vids man!
Hello, I am looking for a pomade like this for women. I hear you mention scents, does this have a strong cologne scent or is it just cucumber/lemon scents?
You forgot Black & White Pomade. Love it!
I have sort of fine hair, I want to style my hair really classic like don drapper, which pomades would be good?
what pomade should I use to get hair like Jeff Wittek
Great video. Which iron society was that one?
Roarke6 Original medium hold
What a blessing this video is
I don't think i've ever heard anything negative about Goon Grease. Might have to try it out
Tyler Dowd Just got my tin of Goon Grease and i'm struggling to find something negative about it. For sure the best heavy on the market
where can i find all these different ypes of pomades? nline or any hair salon stores? having some hard time in Southern Cali and for some reason i cant trust axe since they also carry some pomades
no reuzel?
Great video Cameron, I definitely still need to try out a few that you listed. Not one unorthodox water based pomade though. tears :'( lol
Unorthodox water bases are cool, but I just prefer gel types or oil based . The Odoud's water base was my next in line from Odoud's line that I like though. That's good stuff
No teddy boy original? That stuff is perfect
Have to agree. Teddy boy original is amazing stuff!
hey cameron, currently I am looking for a heavy hold pomade to try. So far I've alway been a medium and light hold user. So I was fonna ask whether you'd recommend reuzel pink (16€) for 4oz or goon grease (20€) for 3.5oz?
If you're used to lighter stuff, I'd go with Goon Grease. The Pink can be a touch waxy
camerona145 Thank you! I went to my shop, and they had run out of goon grease, so I ended up getting Reuzel. It's probably along schmiere mittel one of my favorites so far!

can you list the pomade that doesnt contain pork/pig fat?
What about blackship???
Do all water based pomades turn stiff like a gel?
Nope man. Search "unorthodox water-based". The gel-pomade era is almost dead.

SGB red is awesome stuff. Not my favorite classic but still solid!
camerona145 Thanks for the input! Planning on trying Goon Grease or Slick Devil next
Tyler Dowd I've got really thick hair and I use Sweet Georgia Brown blue. That's the right stuff for me :) Holds great, smells good :)
