I haven’t seen the first reaction but I’m hyped and happy to see that some people still value criticism you being one of them:)

I had no problem with the original video. Didn't give it much thought. But watching this one reminded me of how your reactions usually stick out in a sea of others, bringing some actually interesting analysis and perspective as a producer. In retrospect this is a huge upgrade. Good on you for making a second draft.

I watched the first initial reaction video when it was posted yesterday and I remember feeling like there was something a bit off, but I was still just happy to see your reaction.
Honestly, props to you for not taking that critisism to heart and striving to improve on what you did, showing that commenter that you can be as great as you've always been.
Great reaction and analysis too! 👍
Normal People Things is definitely one of my favourite Lovejoy songs now and your explanation definitely helps show how chaotic the songs is.

Blake, you're a national treasure.. It's totally okay to not always give it 100%, everyone has bad days and the reaction you did was better than 75% of the reactions out there anyway. Keep up making these amazing Analysis and yeah, don't feel bad because everyone feel burnt out every so often

Thank you for bringing us this great in depth reaction and for being humble enough to take on feedback. I've been almost nervous recently to watch your videos because I find them harder to enjoy since you changed editing styles (chaotic, distracting, hard to look at, I'd rather listen and not watch etc.) but this was really enjoyable and focused on the wisdom you had to share instead of flashy visual effects. Thanks for sharing Blake!

I don't watch a lot of your videos, because the bands i listen to don't exist anymore and i don't care that much about how their sound was made, but i always tune in to see what you have to say about Lovejoy. The band is very new, becomes more and more popular by day and still trying to find their sound. Your insight is a delight to hear every single time, you bring up very interesting details and points and explain how the song sounds and what makes exactly this sound work so well! Thank you for remaking the video, it is very enjoyable and exactly what it was supposed to be ❤

I always watch your reaction, because you always have such good insight, and knowledge about the industry and details, so I'm always super excited when you talk about the bands i like.
So when I watched the first reaction.... i couldn't help but be kind of sad, it felt like you were just... getting it out of the way.
But i know it happens sometimes, and I hope you find time to rest your mind.

I had no problem with the og video. Also I would love to see your reaction to one of lovejoys friends. James marriott. His new single don't blame me is so good, it is his best song, and he has an album coming out with that song on November 10th.

I can't lie, this is the video I think I've learned the most from. Over time, I thought your Lovejoy reacts were just the same old, every now and then getting a surprise when they changed up their sound, but all of it built off of that initial reaction. This one? From the moment you explained grit (which I didn't understand bc I'm not involved in music) I knew you were gonna go into depth. I'm so glad you took the criticism for what it was and took the time to do what you knew you could do!

thanks for remaking this video! honestly i haven't seen the original, but as someone who got into your analyses back when you started reviewing Why Don't We's music, and as someone studying music, i really find the more in-depth content that you create to be amazing.
artist recommendation: James Marriott. he's put out some really good stuff so far this year and has a new single to be released next week i believe with an EP or even an album on the looming horizon. he's got a great sound, and especially compared with his stuff from even just last year and beyond, his progress is stunning and intensely interesting. i'd love to hear your breakdown of his stuff, especially "So Long", "Romanticise This", and the new song when it comes out. for his older stuff, i'd also be super interested in your thoughts on "Car Lights", "Grapes", "Sleeping On Trains", and "Where Has Everyone Gone?".
i hope you can keep up with the brilliant stuff that i remember drew me to your channel years ago. good luck dealing with burn out, and all the best

I'd like to point out that the song doesn't resolve on to chord 1 at the end, and so because most listeners want to hear the resolution, it's effectively a little mind game to make you want to play the song again to hear chord 1 at the start. That could be totally unintentional, but knowing Wilbur's tendencies and seeing how purposeful it actually sounds, my guess is that it's intentional, which I think is so cool.

Hey, I love hearing your thoughts on all the lovejoy music. I thought it would be cool to hear what you have to say on lovejoy's acoustic EP they released earlier this year. It's all the same songs from are you alright with one additional Instrumental track. While it's the same songs, it's obviously completely different production wise and I would love to hear your opinions on how well they translated their songs from electric to acoustic. The EP is titled From studio 4 released under the name Anvil Cat.

Wait.. somebody called CBGB's obscure? Yeesh. That's crazy. It's kind of amazing how easily people forget the importance of locations and movements/moments in music. One club can (and has before) change the whole scope of rock n roll. It seems the original commentor was a Lovejoy fan. I get it, I'm a Lovejoy fan too, and I'm a Wilbur Soot fan, I'm a Ted Nivison fan, I'm a music history fan, I'm a fan of you, Blake. These things never take precedent over how I treat someone in regards to how they react to/feel about what I like. Whatever that comment poster's mindset was, good or bad, I hope it can be understood that they don't dictate what kind of videos should or should not be made. They should understand that just because they reference fair use, doesn't mean they are applying it properly. As a musician/artist myself, the whole copyright protection/fair use discussion is much more nuanced than most seem to realize. And as far as their personal review of your videos, Blake, I suppose they can have their opinion on your delivery and style. I, for one, as a fan, and fellow artists, am very grateful for your insights. Without your videos, I would never have heard of one of my now all-time favorite bands, The Night Game. I think it's cool that you can take a negative and spin it into a positive, Blake. But I hope you realize that you don't have to alter who you are, or what you create due to one single, drawn out negative comment. Hell, you don't have to for a positive one like mine for that matter. Cheers bud.

I watched the first reaction video, it was kinda what I was expecting and enjoyed it... hey ho, I'll watch this one too and react to your reaction video, I guess because I'm not showimng my reaction, to your reaction, no one cares... however, I would just say, your reaction, should be just that, even if you're not at your best, it's just how you're feeling and how the song makes you feel at the time.. I play songs deliberately, to actually help me react differently, sometimes to say embrace a mood, or lift my spirits - Isn't that the point? Keep up the good work...

i never saw the original but i definately prefer this type as it gives more insight into how the song was made and its possible intentions and we get to learn along the way. but the downside is that we dont see your orignal reaction.
if there was a way for you to combine these two into one video so we see both i think that is a nice middle ground. so like you react to it, the go back to start and break it down or something like that
