You play 19 years, you're doing something right.
This makes me smile. Big Dawg coming back baby, we have a 6th lineman!
And he did catch a TD last year also. I absolutely love this decision 🥳🥳👍👍
Coach on the field. Leader in the locker room
Awesome move! Now true Edge rusher talent free agent Go BEARS AND BEAR DOWN 🐻 ❤❤❤
honestly having Lewis tutor a young guy like bates in the ways of being a top notch blocking TE sounds amazing. win-win all around once the deal is done.
He's 5 years older then Rob Gronkowski and still in the league and playing above average. Great signing. He's a guy we want in short yardage and goaline situations especially. ⬇️
I'm glad Marcedes is back. Thanks Swift...⬇️🐾⬆️
Blocking TE's haven't got to put the pads on, but coaches got worried. 😅 It helps protect the Rookie QB. 💪🏻
Yes !!!
Great Move that I believe was in the cards all along but wasn’t mentioned publicly, given the veteran player time to keep his body in good health and that it wasn’t necessary to have him in camp early, I believe this give the offense more flexibility in the three TE set especially in the blocking schemes that would allow the other two to release and become options as receivers or also in the running game out of the same personnel, Love the move. Also keep the three headed monster in the running game and take Herbert off the table for trade and let’s see how Roshon develops into , and if that’s positive after this season, draft a running back next season to replace Herbert and also see what Mr.Wheeler brings to the table. I can just imagine how this offense can be so productive while being unpredictable, that would give defensives nightmares.
FANTASTIC signing.
Great Move!!! With an Aaron Rodgers like QB ourselves, having his long time buddy and TE, Bringing back the best Blocking TE and Blocking FB in 🏈. Hopefully it's used right
Great move loving it
Maybe one of the Best Blocking TE! And can catch a ball or two! Nice!
Good signing. Still think the Bears will sign another veteran TE and will carry 4 TEs on the roster, Blasengame and Homer get cut.
Perfect fit
Plays hard. Good blocker. Catches ball. Salty vet.
Shwiftyeeeeeee😊
Love it
Marcedes Lewis Spotrac reports $2,000,000 contract with the Chicago Bears, including $400,000 signing bonus, $1,000,000 guaranteed. A cheap effective pickup almost universally desired by the fans. Still an effective blocker and unlike some other receivers, reliably caught the ball. Big locker room positive, bet Kmet was pleased.
Solid move, 39 is the new 35. Yannick not so sure.
Mercedes instantly improves our O line, giving Caleb a reliable protector with a pass catching dimension! Bear down!!!
BEAR DOWN
I'm with it.. He still has value & if the Bears feel it's worth it, Cool. Roster spots are limited & if Lewis can keep his place so be it... Bear Down!
Love me some MLew.
I like Brendan Bates udfa from Kentucky as our 3rd TE...
Packer fan here. Marcedes is a great dude. Blocking TE at this point. Great in locker room
I at first was hoping for a younger TE but with C and RG still being a issue and Jenkins unable to stay healthy we could do FAR worse as a blocking TE and as you said locker room vet and good/great blocking
I like this decision 👌
The ageless Mr Lewis
Former cheese head
Glad to have him back though

Hey Swifty, first of all I find it hard to believe you were on your way to work in 2006. Maybe a paper route? lol. At my age everyone looks so young. As far as Lewis is concerned you shot down most of my arguments against signing but I still don’t like the fact that it’s going to cost some youngster his position on the roster.
Marcedes signing shows the guys the Bears had competing for that 3rd TE spot were not the answer.
Maybe it’s a dumb question but since he only blocks, why not just use a 2nd string guard or tackle. At this point they’re just as fast and can probably block better.
They can't block better.
20% of snaps ?
Now I just wish they'd bring back Yannick or an equivalent.
Why ?
