I LOVE this review. Real person trying something new. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I can tell you from experience that cream shadows are fantastic if you have a good formula. If these are like any of the ones in her other palettes it’s not a great one. The Danessa Myricks ground work palette is EXCELLENT!! Also dense synthetic brushes are going to work the best. I hope that helps ❤
I love crean shadows as a base for my single sparkle shadows. I simply use my fingers or a dense synthetic fiber brush to blend them out. This palette is not a buy for me but I’m sure it’s a cool intro for someone new to cream shadows that wants a palette versus single pots. Love the channel!
I feel for you! It's so crap when makeup doesn't turn out right but I admire you for still putting this up and showing us... I'm not liking much that huda puts out...
@@SteffsBeautyStash never be upset over an experiment. It’s good fun and washes off. Love your content! I’m 42 and inspired so much by your colorful looks. To be bold and sassy at our age is a defiance against the aging process and well worth the process.
I got mine yesterday and tried it this morning. Not loving it. It looks ok but I wasn't sure what to do finger/brush blend etc... I will try it a few more times - my favorite thing was using the darkest color as liner I can see me using that. Thank you for the review!
I always appreciate your honest reviews. I prefer working with pressed powder eyeshadow or loose pigments. I occasionally use creams as a base or a one and done.
I give you so much credit for trying the shadows, even though you don't normally like the formula. I wasn't thrilled with how they looked on you, either. That's not a dig at you, they just didn't really compliment you well. The darker one looked nicer, especially with the liner, but it didn't scream "I need them"
I'm not a big fan of cream shadows either. They always crease on me and I can't seem to get them to a good blend before they dry down. Thanks for this honest review - I'll be skipping this release.
I feel you on the cream shadows. They're not my fave either and I don't care for them generally. I do have one little palette from elf that's got creams in it and it's pretty good but other than that I steer away from them. I thought the first look was glam and I liked the eyeliner too! You did well despite the palette's problems. I love your reviews. They're helpful and help me avoid stuff I know I won't like.
Hallo Steff , you tried. Creams if great formula are great I love the DM groundwork. But creams are done differently and with dense brushes. Thank you for the video and trying xox
That's so crazy. Another reviewer said these are beginner friendly ?? She got some basic looks but they crease really badly with anyone with hooded eyes. Like mine.
Not interested in the cream formula palette. I have her grunge palette and her other big palettes. I have seen some like yourself demonstrating this and just am not interested in this formula. It’s beautiful but I will stick to powders. Thanks for sharing
Weird how both palettes ended up looking the same lol - I don't regret not getting the brown one now! I have the greige and I used a synthetic brush to apply. Even though I didn't overload my eyelids they still creased on me after a couple of hours. I'd say they're good for a no makeup makeup look though if you just use one shade with one of the toppers, that's how I found best to use them. They're pretty smoothing on my vintage eyelids so I liked them for that!
Excited to hear your thoughts, purchased the huda larger pallet think it is the retrograde I could live without it lol. Take care and stay safe. Have a great day at work. Still loving that hair very pretty.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hey Steff! Beautiful looks, but I completely agree that these palettes are a "miss". I actually ordered both of these out of my "blind loyalty" to the brand, but I already know what to expect. I may just end up selling them. Btw: I love your hair 😍, and as usual, you always do a marvelous job with the makeup application regardless of how awkward it may have been. Thank you so much for sharing this review! ❤
Love your new hair! I am not a fan of Huda’s small, palettes, and I don’t want to wears cream on my 66 year old eyes! That would just become crease city. These aren’t even my color story - I’m not a fan of neutrals, but I do love your new hair!
You had to WORK for those looks!! 😮 I'm not inspired by these bland colors anyway. My Pretty Grunge palette has been in my top spot since I got it last year, but how many times can Huda release the same colors?
I feel like if someone isn't familiar with working with creams, maybe it's best not to get a palette full of creams. Maybe start with creams that are cheaper and not as intimidating as a full palette and work your way up. I use my fingers a lot and it's real easy to blend, but im also 42 and have been doing makeup since I was 12 lol. But either way, it's always cool to try something new, and if it doesn't work, at least you gave it a try. What I love about your reviews, is good or bad, you always remain positive and honest which is so refreshing. Love your hair btw!!!
You're supposed to be able to use these w standard brushes though? You can do w all other good cream to powder shadows on the market. Considering Huda sells to the average person traipsing through Sephora these by design should not have a big learning curve.
Ugh, I would take that mess back and return it and get my money back! I've seen other reviews where it crease extremely bad after just a couple of hours. Jen Phelps hit pan on one of the shades after just one time.
LOL...well...that was painful...I think the dark shades got away from you on these looks. Here is one thing to remember about cream shadows...they are not buildable. To add depth, you have to use the next darkest shade and work your way up. I used the brown palette today and started with the lightest shades on the inner corner and worked my way out to the darkest at the outer corner. Also, the "Set" powder is best used before the shimmers...otherwise it takes the shimmer down. Use a full fluffy brush with Set for a light dusting all over the matte shades...then apply your shimmers. Don't give up! I know you can do it!!!
I HATED this palette! and felt like some of the shades were like putty and NOT in a good way! Glad to find a video where someone feels the same! It's weird I just hate the formula!
That’s too bad you don’t like it. I’m curious about the palettes, the setting shades look supposed to be a translucent shade so you can set the other shades within changing the color.
It doesn't look translucent though. But as if it will alter the shadow you put it over. Especially w having multiple tones. Also.... What's the purpose in setting a cream to POWDER shadow? The definition of such texture is to set itself to a powder 👀
With the other tutorials I’ve seen the set shade didn’t alter the look when applied to set it & supposedly there was no creasing 6+ hours. I can’t speak from personal experience though. I do love Huda & I’m thinking of picking up one of these beauties 🥰Thanks so much Steph for giving it ur best shot! Always a pleasure watching ur videos💜
