- yeah brennan’s monologue is great but the ending of this episode (S2E2: Do I Hear $1?) lives in my head absolutely rent free. subscribe to dropout by collegehumor.
Game Changer started as a parody of game shows, so of course it has a point where it satirizes the horrific mentality game shows can encourage in people.
Funny because ,for a parody, it's the best game show that comes to mind.
@@joshevans3421 Passionate parodies often end up with the best of their genre. The Princess Bride, Deadpool, Enchanted.
I think Game Changer is less of a parody and more of a testing ground for game show ideas they have. So far, they have three confirmed spinoffs from Game Changer ideas (Make Some Noise, Dirty Laundry, The Official Cast Recording) and a likely fourth (Game Changer Survivor, not to be confused with Survivor: Game Changers, the 34th season of the original show)

I can’t believe he had that unionized sign ready to go.
I know! That's what got me! Like he was expecting this to happen all along...
It could just be a green screen
@@jayplays1710 you still need the graphic. It's not like you don't need to plan something ahead just because it's digital.
That was the name of the game. The contestants on gamechanger usually aren't told what the game is or how it works. So this was the reveil/win condition.
@Blizzagra Did you watch the video? At the end, one of them asked if it was to get them to unionize the whole time but he said that he was just prepared for it, not that that was the specific goal
I was fully expecting Ally to betray them both for the full 3000

Funnier still. They did a sequel and they unionized early, so he brought out a fourth player as a scab.
LMAO A FUCKING SCAB I CANT

When Sam said that, my immediate thought was "It's gonna be Katie"
LOVE that they used the "U" word. Of course the brilliance of a real union isn't just that the money is split among the workers more fairly, but that _the workers collectively receive more_ because they don't get fcked as hard by the managerial class. It's like if they got $2k each for unionizing, instead of one person winning $3k if they don't.
What they should have said: "I will not release those crickets into the studio for all of the money."
Underrated comment, I bet Sam didn't have a graphic ready for the talent to go Batman villain and hold the studio for ransom
there is power in the factory, power in the land
power in the hand of the worker
but it all amounts to nothing if together we don't stand
there is power in a union
Sam is truly his father’s son
they had that READY? i love it
Solidarity forever! For the union makes us strong! 😂
I just like how the "Safe" is a repurposed fridge.
Take that, prisoners' dilemma!
anyone else remember that one vault in fallout where they had to sacrifice one person?
Omg he was prepared for it
Well I was prepared for that to happen. That's why he's the boss.
As someone who has eaten live crickets for fun, this would be nothing for me
IlL eAt ThE cRiCkEtS fOr A dOlLaR!

I would have eaten those crickets live so fast
Wait but what was he referring to with "whenit comes to entertainment, you get what you pay for"? It sounds like he's scolding people for not paying for dropout or something, but that doesn't sound right
It's referring to the $10000 they budgeted for the bids in this episode/version of the game
@@SurviveAndAdvance yeeeepp
every end of the episode too sam has some sort of wacky ending that's related to the theme of the game. this time since they were bidding money per the rounds - and maybe as a nod to Total Forgiveness too - the quote is a bit about money.
I still can't believe the prizes are real.
and they said Communism wouldn't work!
Where can I watch this?
How do you watch all the episodes of game changer?
well ain't this relevant
A perfect analogy for actual unions. The product is worse for the consumers, yet the workers still get paid.

Grant: "so this was to get us to unionized the whole time?"
I'm sure he wish he did that before he drank from the toilet. Still gagging remembering that.
I know this is spoiling it a little but it was a set with a fresh toilet and clean water - Grant didn't *know* that, but they *did* make sure he was safe ofc
didn't he also shit infront of a crowd?
I mean it's mostly clean water.
@@_snowylil could you let me know how you know this. not that I don't believe you but it was weighing on my mind too that Grant did that and it would make me feel much better

i really hope that in the future, workplaces will make specific signs congratulating their employees for unionizing thanks to this wonderful example
It’s a weird thing to see the effects of a union in a workplace. I work in an oil field where half got unionized and the other half didn’t under different companies. The unionized portion was bought by the other company but the Union stuck around on that side of the field. They have better benefits but make less cash. This wasn’t a big deal until the field was once again bought by another company. Now that portion of the company is still a union, and they didn’t get a pay cut like the rest of the field but they lose out on a 15-30k bonus a year

That Unionized sign had such massive Vault-Tec vibes. In fact a majority of Game Changer has Vault-Tec vibes.
Considering that Fallout is a satire of americana, american exceptionalism, and late stage capitalism and game changer is a parody of the exploitative nature of reality game shows, that makes sense
It's incredible
I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the Game Changer studio is a vault.

If he wanted them to actually be competitive, he should've had Brennan on it.
Brennan is only competitive about immaterial things, he'd be the first to establish a union and everyone would follow him, knowing that it'd be the best deal they can get.
@@DrZaius3141 Also, Brennan could see beating the game itself and Sam as winning.
They'd already been competitive all episode. They didn't necessarily need to keep it up anymore.
I feel like Brennan would have proposed a union much earlier. He’s so big on rules and game theory I think he would have come to the conclusion almost immediately. And if he’s not a communist he’s pretty close to it. For points he’s a ruthless game player, for money, he’s a union president.
@@nicksurfs1 I believe he's a socialist democratic.
worst case: they use the union sign they made
best case: someone eats a cricket
win-win ending
Almost all cultures that do eat crickets eat them cooked, so eating a live one is gross
Sam always wins.
"NO NO NO this is the PRISONERS' DILEMMA!" Such Brennan energy from Grant is jarring
I love collegehumor. Which else media company makes a bit about the importance of unions in the workplace?

Ally's "I'll eat the crickets" walk/dance is everything
Maybe the real unionization was the friends we made along the way
I like how Ally and Raph weren’t fully on board until Sam responded with outrage
I love how frequently the show goes from “contestants vs each other” to “contestants vs the host”
seeing Sam Reich walk over to Grant O’Brien and observing the height difference was extremely strange

And then when they bring the game back he has a scab ready for this happening too early.
And then the scab joins the union 💀💀💀
“The only way to play is by playing and the only way to win is by winning”
L I E S
Union is the ultimate win state of the worker.
I don't think Ally was 100% joking there haha, Sam had to kind of steer them into it
I genuinely expected ally to go the eating the cricket route, they're chaotic enough to do it and betray the others lmao
I’m so glad they didn’t hurt the crickets
"I'll take unionization for 3,000, Sam."
i like to think they did not have this sign ready and their on-site designer was frantically making and exporting the image as soon as they realized what was happening
I wouldn't eat them but I'd stick my hand in there, scoop them up and let them run around on me cause when I worked in a pet store I'd have to get crickets every day and they'd crawl on me and some would even hitch a ride home with me in my apron pocket.
But unionizing is better
The best part about this is the fact that he both expected them to join together against him and had someone design a full on graphic about it yet felt the need to try to break them.
HE WAS SO PREPARED
I hated this for a second, then I realized what the message was.
Never thought I'd hear the word "unionized" from an American lmao
What makes this more wholesome is that this was filmed shortly after Total Forgiveness. So Grant and Ally teaming up in solidarity was heartwarming.
0:35 "I'll eat the crickets for a dollar" Please I'm losing my fucking mind over this
I would have eaten a handful for the rest of the money.
ally RUNNING to "I'LL EAT THEM FOR A DOLLAR" at the first sign of trouble
"So the purpose was to get us to unionize the whole time?!"
"Well, I was prepared for it."
I had to find this because after watching this episode...wow. I was not expecting such an amazing, heartwarming message at the end. HOLY. CRAP.
DMs when theyre players make them change the plot
Imagine they unionized at the very beginning, like as soon as they knew exactly how much was at stake
YOU'VE UNIONIZED and the implication that them unionizing was the plan from the start
CONGRADULATIONS PLAYERS
YOU'VE UNIONIZED
Sam’s dad must be so proud.
The real winners here were the crickets
Is this class conciusness?
I like how Grant did this, AFTER Ally lost some of their hair
the Good Ending
I'd like to see how much faster this outcome would happen in a European country.
I want to know what other outcomes he was prepared for besides them going through all the money or all the other slides
“I expect all of you to waive at these crickets” sounds like such a batshit crazy C.E.O. end of meeting thing to say and I don’t think it was a first for ol’ Sammy Sam
If I remember right Grant O'Brien drank toilet water through a straw on this episode, for a not large amount of money, but anything with crickets got him thinking outside the box
Unironically, this is quite socially relevant atm.
Glad to see they’ve unionized again. Glory to to the WGA, glory to SAG-AFTRA! Solidarity forever!
They thought they changed the game on him but he was ready for it
That's so beautiful
im very surprised grant knows what the prisoners dillema is
I love this bit. The scary part is that all they had to say was “no”. If only it were that easy lmao
I'd eat every single one of those crickets for $3000 lol. Or rather I guess it would be to steal $2000 from my fellow players. Ya lol
Makes sense for the labor secretary's son
Sam is his father's son.
Sam knew they would join forces eventually.
Close second for me. Right behind the infamous Brennan Lee Mulligan monologue.
Vault-Tec would like a word…
Was there a sequel where Katie was brought on as a scab?
Um actually, they didn't do anything with the crickets. The crickets were not a participant in the action, they were just passively undergoing a wave so can you say they did anything with live crickets?
They participated by being waved at
That's surprisingly wholesome 🥺
DeepBlueInk needs to animate this as well
I have pet frogs so my response would’ve been to take the crickets home and feed them to my pets lol
This is the first time I’ve ever seen the ending this show and it’s a year old. Now that i think about it, I’ve just been watching a whole series of game changer shorts that’s never once come to an end and just been in a loop up until now. Wow
i would have said i'd take them home. those are my pets now. i love them
Sam's dad would be so proud
it kinda sucks knowing how this, which was filmed in 2019, would be affected by what would happen within a year of this filming
what does that even mean
Lool When that sign came up, for a second my science brain was like "They've un-ionized?? I don't get it..."
What a pointless lie, he literally starts saying it before the sign comes up. It doesn't even make you look smart, are you 13?
Thankfully the host is Sam and not Bezos
I wonder how much the number 3000 helped Grant come up with the idea.
