Very honest video, thanks for sharing these numbers. Always thought you were well up so a bit of a surprise to see these figures. However, it looks like you have done well on in-season but it's the collapse in Classic prices that have hit your overall returns.

Correct which is why going forward i'm so optimistic. Thank you

Great video. Really helpful to zoom out once in a while and see where your individual journey has gone/is going. Perhaps you will make a video on your plans for next season, but do you think you'll try and sell your current in season cards at some point and then repeat next year? Cheers and keep up the good work!

😂😂 class video you dirty grifter!! I can completely see through the nonsense. I was here in 2021 I got out uncomfortable with the prices and the way things were going. Back to the game in 2024 granted I’ve missed all the drops and negatives but coming back into this game now it’s phenomenal and I love it! People do need to move on and either embrace it or just leave for their own sanity more than anything else. Great vid mate keep it going ❤

People like Alex and now yourself need to stop telling people to move on rather than complaining. People don't complain because they hate the game and want it to die (well outside a small number who use their negativity for the exposure to push something else for example there was one, not sure if he is still around who was pushing a betting service) BUT because they want it to succeed. Cheerleaders telling them everything is amazing no matter what doesn't help them improve, criticism when they make bad decisions is how you improve. And the problem with Sorare over the last couple of years is most of their decisions have been poor, especially on the game side. Their theory is often sound but their implementation is so often so poor largely because they have NO-ONE with Game Dev experience on their team .
Take the advent calendar, while it isn't a gaming decision itself the reason they have had to have 5 of the first 7 days being card purchase promos and also have to push selling these cards by having a upcoming event that you need these winter cards for stems from how badly implemented some of their ideas were in August. These decisions have killed the secondary market and driven prices right down on the primary market which has made people less eager to put money in and also makes it harder for them to generate money so there is less liquidity in the game which all in all is bad for Sorare bottom line. The Advent calendar could really have been a great thing to help get some goodwill but how much its been slanted to selling more cards and with them shrouding so much of the potential 'rewards', they refused to reveal what the free cards could be, for all we know every free card is a worthless t5.
Ultimately things like the In-Season/Classic split, the divisions, the way crafting is setup etc etc while all having a solid theory around doing have just all been really poorly implemented and there are things which if Sorare's management had done what they should have done atleast 2 years ago and realised that its the game that sells this product not the digital art collecting and had put focus on hiring a team of people with game dev experience to handle the game side they would have identified most if not all the issues (myself and a few others in this community with a game dev background certainly did) we would have a game that was closer to fulfilling the promise it had and still has.
And actually I'm pretty sure yesterday highlighted to many that Sorare is just being badly run. The product manager and the dev team are all Full-Stack developers, full stack-developers aren't game developers, game devs expertise falls outside the scope of a full stack developer BUT something that does fall under the scope of a Full Stack Dev is UI and user experience. Anyone who was forced to come over from SorareData's lineup builder to use the Soarers will have realised just how poor the UI is, everything takes atleast 5 more click that is really needed, even with the extra clicks needed to import from SD it requires less clicks to do one lineup, let alone several lineups. Just stupid things like the filter for both players already in lineups and those who don't have a game being automatically turned on or the fact the search seems unable to do a search on player names that aren't complete, I had names I had typed about 80% of it in and it was showing no players but the player showed up as soon as I typed the last letter. If the dev team they have can't even implement something that should be in their wheelhouse well is it any surprise they can't implement game features?
Certainly though getting them to do better isn't helped when people like Alex gaslight those who make valid complaints

@@SimonWakefieldUK mate I can see from the length and consideration of the points you are making that you care deeply about the game and that’s amazing good for you 👍🏻I will never suggest everything is perfect and without putting words into Alex’s mouth neither would he.
I have nothing against what you’ve said, I agree with some of it other bits I don’t. They aren’t going to just give away a load of expensive stuff in the advent calendar. If you thought that was even a possibility I’m sorry mate but come on… after having to completely change the structure of the game, and nerf essence did you really think they’d be giving out free money 🤷‍♂️
I genuinely don’t see any gaslighting going on everyone is entitled to an opinion we are no different, (He’s actually responded to someone trying to dig him out is that gaslighting?) what is not helpful and you can dress it up as many ways as you want is the old guard on every announcement, on every thread saying “Sorare is dead” over and over and over!! Where’s the value or point in that comment again and again.
Sorare isn’t dead for all of us, some of actually quite enjoy it warts and all so if I suggest people need to move on it’s for their own mental health I’m not trying to wind anybody up (apart from a few professional whiners).
Can the game improve? Sure, is it dead? No…
When I came back in August I bought a load of classic cards without realising the dynamics of the new 2.0 did I whinge and cry on every post? No I got on with it and figured out the best way to play for me. I’m not particularly successful but I enjoy playing the game as do countless others so if it was dead I wouldn’t bother would I🤷‍♂️
Anyway I didn’t mean to respond with a lengthy reply so that’s it, go and try to enjoy the game or pack up and leave others that want to alone 👍🏻
      People like us……

@@palmwa Most people complaining about the advent calendar weren't expecting lots of expensive things to be handed out for free but they were expecting something more than what we have basically got which has been a promotion to sell cards that they have been struggling to sell with a one week competition and the chance of getting a free 2nd card which they didn't even give details on (Every single 2nd free card could be t5 which lets be honest is worth basically nothing , a 20% chance of winning a useless card doesn't make it worth buying these overpriced cards but if it was something like 50% chance of a t5, 30% t4, 10% t3, 5%, 2.5% t2, 1% t1 and 0.5% t0 then that makes it more worth. Not letting us know is a bit scummy).
With goodwill being so low there is so much they could have done that would have helped build some goodwill that doesn't mean handing out massive amounts of cards while still doing some card promotions. With 3 categories and U23 thats 4 promotions they could have sprinkled within but certainly shouldn't have been done on day 1. The rest of the time they could have offered other things that aren't cards, there is obviously the overall raffle tickets, level ups, arena tickets, shirts (signed and unsigned), essence, merch etc etc. Even market credit which doesn't really cost them anything and pushes people to spend when maybe they wouldn't anyway have anyway so while it may seem like it has a cost creating sales that you wouldn't have had otherwise is a positive. And it could have all been done in just a more fun and engaging way. And even if they did just want to use it as a sale promo their marketing of it made arid for their own backs, they built it up as something more than a promo.
Oh and on the nerfing of essence BTW that was again awful implementation. With things like essence what you want is people to save it up but because they seemed to think that seeing creators posting how they pulled Mbappe from 20 essence they created a situation where people were cashing in at 20 all the time. Even with the chance of getting a t0 is low if everyone is redeeming at 20 you get way more t0's being given out than you would have budgeted for. The sensible thing to do is that rather than just having lower limits at each tier you also have an upper limit. So at 20 you wouldn't be able to craft higher than a t4, at the second level you are guaranteed a t4 and can craft upto t3 etc. That encourages people to save which helps control how many cards they give out. The nerfing of the essence hasn't actually solved the problem, it slows it down but even more so people are likely yo craft at 20 because getting to the higher levels will take so long.
On the comment that Alex showed in this video, he had already labeled anyone who complains as people who want the game to die. It's been a narrative him and other cheerleaders have been doing consistently. And it's not been just a recent thing. I've worked in game dev, I saw all the issues that we are now seeing with the game when they announced these changes and talked about it the issues and even gave what kind of changes were needed to make the changes work the way their announcement implied they wanted things to work and I was told how I was wrong, how I was complaining for the sake of it. And Sorare just amplified all their cheerleading and ignored anyone raising valid issues.
A good example is Divisions. Divisions in theory are a great idea as it can give a sense of progress. Their whole spiel on it mentioned playing with players at your same level but look at the implementation of it. Lineups in Div5 that win look almost exactly like those in Div1, you see some people intentionally getting relegated in midweek by putting in a lineup of DNP's to allow them to farm Div5 rewards every weekend. Multiple entries make it even worse as you can work to keep one in the top division and then use the other two lineups to manipulate divisions. So many of the cheerleaders will still tell you divisions work and acuse you of complaining for no reason.
And the thing is most people aren't saying Sorare is dead but they are worried it's in a death spiral. There is only so many times you can keep asking people to put more and more money in at the levels required while it feels for most that it hopeless. While they have more managers than ever getting their first card they have the lowest amount of managers who bought their first card since the first year and the number of cards being sold is also on the decline. It's still fixable but they need some major changes before next summer because if we go into the summer with the level of discontent because discontent users spend less which means less money for Sorare and less money for Sorare means less they can give out in prizes which causes more discontent. Hiring an experience game director who has an exec level position and letting him put together an actual experience team of game devs would go a long way to starting to sort things out and might actually even bring some goodwill because it atleast shows they are taking the issues seriously
