"prep school in Leeds" that bit killed me lol. Leeds is actually one of the biggest cities in the UK, but I think this is the first time I've ever heard it mentioned in anything American n it caught me off guard lol.
Same with me! Just chuffed to see some Yorkshire representation for once haha
“Me mum wanted me to attend prep school in Leeds, to become a barrister but I wanted to study the theater, at Oxford”

Oh my god jesus christ that killed me
Right! Hahaha!!!! 😂😂😂
He actually masters that 'middle-class trying to sound posher' accent pretty well.
Never thought I'd ever hear Leeds shouted on an American show they all usually assume every British person comes from London!
@josie definitely not
You fuckin with Key & Peele bro, they ain't janky ass Hollywood, Hollywood
Hew dzey evaaa asume evereee'y bri' ish peusen is coming from lonttun !,
Honestly it really annoys me when Americans just see every British person as “Ooh I would love a spot of tea darling with those lovely biscuits” but it’s not as bad as when they try a Mancunian (Manchester) Accent
I only know Leeds because of the Leeds Rhinos (NZer here so naturally I know every English town with a famous rugby or rugby league team).

No, but I have a great story involving YOUR mum... (laughing like Darrell Hammond's Sean Connery)
It's lame but I'll say it anyway...I'm your 1000th like..
It's funny because Jordan actually plays this entire skit like an acting god lol
This isn't a parody. This is real.
Idris Elba in The Wire lol
@Robert Congleton This is a sketch.
Idris isnt posh though
Patrick Byrne Maybe not posh but certainly not from Baltimore
Teapot accent
If someone told me they didn't believe me after I hit them in the gut, I'd cry inside and wonder if I even exist

Osiris 64 yeah it’s a bit psychopathic on their end lol. I could see the Joker from the comics saying that to Batman and getting him super pissed and confused as he’s beating the shit out of him.
Colin Hanks deserved an Emmy for this.
Nigels accent when he lectures Antoine... so distinguished, makes me laugh out loud :D
When you meet that one person you just cant impress no matter what you do.
You can actually levitate in front of them and they'll still be on some "Yeah but it's just lacking a certain...gravity" bullshit. 🤣🤣

I think I remember reading a story that an American actor was close to get the role for Rick Grimes until Andrew Lincoln came along and "blew everyone away" and he's british lmaoo
I didn't even knew he was british until I saw him on a talk show lol

@@shadows_star exactly people are oblivious of what goes on in places they dont live
You can throw a rock in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, or Louisiana and hit someone with as "downhome" an accent as Rick Grimes. Just because not everyone is that bad, or you're not aware of your own degree of regional accent doesn't make the portrayal unrealistic or uncommon.
The most unrealistic thing about True Detective (S1) was the standard American accent on the Billy Graham/Kenneth Copeland analog they had. Great actor, but all those big tent televangelists have a charicaturish regional accent.
@@SolarScion C'mon now. The accent is exaggerated & a bit laughable. I mean the entire cast admitted that they all joke w/ him about his horrible accent all the time but he tends to take it seriously. The accent of any region is left in the subtle details, the more you exaggerate those details, the more it becomes a noticeable farce. He's got the right idea, but the execution isn't all there.
...Still the greatest show on earth currenty running.
This is sooo funny. The frustration in the face of the ex gangster is priceless and the elegant accent of the British guy is so hilarious. Thank you.

The way Key blends into any character is quite frightening. That British accent was top notch.
It was pretty shaky tbh
Erm. No it wasnt.
His accent fluctuated from posh to Brummie to generic London & American nuances slipped in in places, far from top notch.
@@Alkamii that was probably on purpose. How would he not know that "me mum" doesn't really blend in with his "conundrum"? 😁
It was a good mimicry of Jude Law's vocal patterns, I half suspect Key got inspiration from him. He'd be identified as an American doing that voice in the UK though
This is a joke about the Wire. Idris Elba plays a street baltimore kingpin and speaks hood. Baltimore instead of Brooklyn.
Every now then you can slightly hear his British accent come through
Its literally most black actors these days.
It's not just about Idris. Its a huge phenomenon about British actors taking American roles. It even becamse a thing about ADOS complaining about their figures being played by non ADOS
BZA I had never heard of ADOS. Learned something new. Thank you.

Same thing for Dominic West, who played McNulty, occasionally you hear his British accent in certain words as well. There was also one scene where McNulty went undercover as a Brit and West had him deliberately do a bad British accent

They got a point though: Being traumatized doesn't mean you're deep, or particularly good at showing people how you feel.
The director dude was saying he didnt believe him as he was genuinely showing his reaction to the events at hand. That just means the director was a clown who literally couldnt buy the performance of a dude expressing his genuine emotion.
