Tip - Drywall in the ceiling often isn't screwed directly into the joists themselves. A lattice of "1 by" is often installed perpendicular to the direction of the joists and the thickness of that "1 by" creates about a 1/2" to 3/4" gap between the drywall and the joists. Still mount the frame as instructed but first make sure you have machine screws long enough to secure the fan box body to the mounting frame..
I need to install in attic, and typically goes below 0 degrees in winter. From inside ceiling, I have gyproc plus 3/4 inch furring, plus 1/2 inch fibre board, then trusses. 12 inch of pink batt insulation and 5 inch blown insulation. How can I install with such a spacing between face of gyroc and bottom of truss ( about 1 3/4 inch)?
Super helpful. Thank you so much.
Great Video!!

this unit is not suck .... i mean it does not suck air out as advertised! it is quiet but its CFM rating is probably 50 at most (when you set 150CFM)
