Orhan gencebay is the greatest composer of post-republic Turkish music. Unfortunately, since he is an introverted person, he did not feel the need to announce his music abroad. Among them, top of the pack would yawn out of boredom (No offence, yet 'fact') at the avant-gardes, prodigies, revolutionaries and the like of the western (US/UK) mainstream of the era. The vast pool of variety they had brought up with would be sufficient reason by itself, add talent and highest quality education on top of that. İçinde keman bulunan her parça arabesk örneği değildir. Sayın Gencebay'ın arabeske benzeyen tek parçası, bakın arabesk değil arabeske benzeyen tek parçası "Dünya Dönüyor" adlı şaheseridir. Onda kemanlar sanki arabesk çizgisinde ilerlermiş gibi geliyor bana. Mozart'a gelecek olursak Mozart klasik batı müziğinde ki dev isimlerden biridir. Orkestrasında yaylılara ağırlık verilmiştir diye 'arabesk yapıyor' demek cidden hiç doğru olmaz. Son olarak evet Gencebay'ın parçalarında aşk vardır, duygu vardır, kimi zaman ümitsizlik kimi zaman hayat vardır. Gencebay'ın kimi hareketli parçaları da vardır. Örneğin; Zelzele, Sen Sev Beni, Ben Kendim Bir Alemim ve daha niceleri. Ben sözlerimi burada noktalıyorum. Söylenecek çok şey var fakat umarım siz beni anlamışsınızdır. Turkish music scene has produced some of the -positively- sickest arrangers *of the world* during the 70s. Among them, top of the pack would yawn out of boredom (No offence, yet 'fact') at the avant-gardes, prodigies, revolutionaries and the like of the western (US/UK) mainstream of the era. The vast pool of variety they had brought up with would be sufficient reason by itself, add talent and highest quality education on top of that.
Don't take my word for it, you'd be glad for every moment of you discovering it yourself. ;)
