The ACTIVE command can only be used on fixed MBR disks.
I don't have a second PC, I tried the first option but it didn't fix the problem
None of this helped
You saved me from an unbearable shame in front of my senior. Be blessed for every second of your day
glad to help you
Whenever I put the USB inside, the laptop doesnt start up at all and I also cannot enter the boot or startup menu. Edit: I figured out the issue, it was the USB. When I do the CM prompt stuff, there is no Partition, just DVD-ROM
Same brother 🥺🥺🥺
This video is the only thing on the internet that helped. Solution 2 helped me. Your other video on how to make a recovery drive also was fantastic. Thankyou!
Solution number 1 fixed my problem (after installing ubuntu version 20). I changed from uefi to legacy. Thanks!
If you install ubuntu then what happened to your data on hard disk?
In the second option, when i typed active, a message promped to me that said:the selected disk is not a fixed MBR disk
The active command can only be used on fixed MBR disks
You are gifted thanks a lot these is a life saving tutorial to me
I Converted my Drive from GPT to MBR, tried using SSD on old old computer.
Could never find the Boot Mode: Legacy in my BIOS, so i figured the BIOS does not support GPT/UEFI.
So i fixed it by having my Boot setting as AHCI and converting my drive to "MBR for BIOS".
Now it reads my SSD.
No more: "No bootable device - insert boot disk and press any key”
How you done this bro.??

Hello bro, I was installing windows 8 in macOS high sierra through bootcamp assistant, after installation the system was asking for a code number written on the back of the bootable device, when I went to check, by mistake the PC wire is disconnected from mac mini. After restarting the computer, the display is showing that "No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key", now the keyboard is disconnected from computer and I have tried many attempts to connect with computer but still it is not connected, now I am stuck in this situation.
