The Outlast Trials has officially wrapped up it's Early Access period and to celebrate version 1.0, it has launched on Xbox and PlayStation consoles. But it the co-op horror game from Red Barrels any good on console? Let's find out.

I feel like an alien. I’ve put a ton of time into this game solo, and I’ve enjoyed trying different play styles, speedrunning, and generally just trying to optimize my strategies in any small ways I can. Seeing a lot of people dismiss solo play is kinda disheartening.

Been playing this on pc since launch and can tell that this is worth it if you have friends to play with or find a group that helps new players or doesn't rage quit after getting downed
Game looks much better than I thought it would on consoles tbh
I was pretty surprised to, even on last Gen consoles it doesn't look to bad

@@atictacidk about that but so far I’ve been having sooo much fun with my cousin playing it. In terms of CO-OP it’s super fun and hard so far
@@atictacit’s a very different game. 1 and 2 are dope but Trials isn’t a “campaign and story” title.

It's my personal favorite out of all the games.
i didnt like outlast 1 or 2, i was hoping this would actually be fun to me cus the multiplayer/quest type system but i guess not

@lukasamador4614 so I can play it on ps5 with someone using a ps4? I'm trying to make sure cause I have a ps5 and ps4 and my son and I want to play it together. I understand I'll have to purchase it separately but I'm okay with that as long as we would be able to play it together.

Outlast trials is intended to be a comp environment.
Competing with other groups for fastest times or perfect scores.
Hopefully barrels can keep up with the demands for a long term game.
Man i'd pay good money to hear reviews from people who understand a franchise's staples. Like, actually imagine reviewing a OUTLAST game and complaining about the fact you can't fight back and do a lot of hiding. Top 2 tone deaf video game reviews of all time... and it aint number 2.
i dont mind hiding sometimes, but all outlasts were was running and hiding and 0 combat even though youre always walking by botthles, and poolsticks, rakes, shovels, probably through kitchens full of knives but no, gota hide and look at the nightvision blair witch camera. its not scary, just boring to me

@@zaneshaw9758 im playing it now actually, but its just 1 map in the daylight and its broken and always disconnnecting ppl making us lose our gear all the time. i can only play so much before i need a different game
There has always been something about Outlast that just can't keep my interest. My g/f and I love horror, and I remember playing the og Outlast and not being impressed or scared much at all. Couldn't quite put my finger on it. It had all the things that are supposed to constitute a good horror game. Yet I remember feeling bored and not scared at all and my g/f says, "Wanna play something else?" She read my mind. It was all so boring and cheesy, and generic feeling. It just felt so uninspired. Like an unimaginative 12 year old came up with the whole thing. Closed the game out, deleted it and never played anything Outlast again.
What horror games would you recomend for PlayStation
i agree… i guess cat and mouse horror games arent that scary to us i guess.
@@capitcha Oh no. Resident Evil 2 remake was one of my favorite games ever. One of the scariest and most tense. In Outlast, the inability to fight back at all is def a factor along with just the generic-ness about it. In Re2 remake I was scared shitless yet i could fight back, hard. So i guess it comes down to an atmosphere. Maybe a simple feeling. Maybe it all comes down to art direction? Outlast just never did it for me. It was corny.
@@m1garand164 absolutely has something to do with the atmosphere. the only horror game that has ever scared me was Alien Isolation, which is ironically a cat and mouse horror game. but honestly i think outlast had pretty good atmosphere. the problem probably is that i couldn’t really take the enemies seriously enough, especially if you figured out the AI. i think being able to fight back makes stuff a bit less scary in a sense. Amnesia The Bunker made you feel way too safe with a gun even when ammo was scarce. I think Alien isolation was perfect because some objectives made you figure things out on your own, giving you a “fear of the unknown” vibe.

What the new things they add?
So much I highly suggest it they add so much variety to the run away and hide gameplay it’s fun and only 40 dollars instead of a typical 70 dollar game that isn’t fun

I’m having the same problem, mate. They have pulled the game off the store because it’s in a very bad state. Don’t know why this geezer don’t bring it up. Nearly everyone is getting the same issue.
Because it isn’t next gen. Just get a ps5 or series x it’s 2024, I mean obviously some ppl can’t afford it but they stated that it wouldn’t be on next gen

Plus This game didn't think is bad or Disappointed. It is Best game snices 1 & 2. Even dlc too.
Im Just don't like that who people are not into horror. It because of gore and horror things. But it just a game people. Horror is fun with jumpscares. Like if their don't like it.
When go play cod game or something that who pay live service games. But not outlast trials. Because this game didn't need live service.
