      Ona Ebodaghe yup that’s what I was thinking as well. A lineup of Young PG, Huerter SG, Reddish SF, Collins PF, and Hayes C could be nasty in the future

      John Collins has been developing his 3-point stroke. 😀😀😀
      That's what makes these 2 a perfect fit together for the Atlanta Hawks = his teammate in the Low Post must be able to make 3-pointers.
      Floor Spacing is King in 2019 NBA.

    I hate the fact that jaxson hayes is getting knocked for being a bench player his junior year. I see that as a HUGE upside. He probably didn't get into basketball until a little while before that because he was focused on football, so the fact that he has grasped the game so well, so quickly and molded himself into a better finisher than Zion in like 2 years is pretty incredible. Dude just seems like a natural athlete. Him, zo, Zion and the spacing from BI and holiday is going to be very fun to watch

  • @degenerate82

    He has more hops than Capela so just need to get that bulk and he will be just fine. Footwork and hands are nasty, just gonna take several years for him. Already one of my favorite players.

    The criticisms here are legit, but I also think that some of it can be attributed to the fact that he hasn't "grown into" his body yet. Take into consideration that when you've been a guard most of your life and out of nowhere, you're suddenly a post player. It takes a bit of time to link that kind of change to body and skill. Fortunately, he's a well rounded athlete. The best thing for him will be some good coaching and becoming a sponge with regard to learning. At this point the comparison to Tyson Chandler is understandable, but this kid has the potential to be a lot better.

    People are knocking this guy, but if he can gain about 20 to 30 pounds and touch up a little offensively he will be a more excellent pick. I like the pick no doubt about that, but the Pelicans will become an exciting team on the defensive side with potential to be exciting on the offensive side as well.

    Not sold on him. He's basically a football player. He has superb athleticism and offensive potential in the paint, but he's clumsy and not strong enough on defense. You can tell that he excels in areas where football translates (jump balls, running, and hands), but he's lacking literally everywhere else. Hope he pans out because he's fun to watch, but Goga and Bol Bol are just better prospects imo.

    1.43 PPP as a roller. 74% on FTs. Texas 92% on at-rim defense in half court. 17.1 points per 40 min. 9 assists all year(!). 12th out of top 12 offensive rebounders in defensive rebounding. 5.7 fouls per 40 min.
    Chicago got Daniel Gafford at 38 & have to admit I don't see much of, if any, a difference between him & Hayes, drafted 8th. Good for him & his Sideshow Bob chain, but I think Griff would've been better off taking the shot on Reddish or Doumbouya then finding a rim roller like Gafford later on. He should be very nice with Lonzo & Zion though. The situation & fit is nice

    Another kid who should have stayed in college to develop his game and mature a little more. These kind of kids think they are (or are told they are) great coming out of high school, but in fact are very lacking in fundamentals. It's too bad they always want to do the "money grab", and I am surprised with is one. His father should know better, because even he should know that his son needs to improve in many areas.

    • @Simon_Sez
      @Simon_Sez 5 лет назад +1

      Hard to turn down millions of dollars when you see players getting injured and never getting their big payday. So why would college athletes go back and play for free again if that means a whole year of risking the chance you ever play professional. Just pay college players and I don’t think as many would want to leave so quickly

    • @dttruman
      @dttruman 5 лет назад

      @@Simon_Sez They are getting an education and that will last a lifetime, if they take it seriously. Paying college players won't work either. Not all colleges can afford that, and if by chance it is made so, some players will be paid more than others. Then a new problem arises when players want equal pay. See the problem now?

    • @Simon_Sez
      @Simon_Sez 5 лет назад +1

      dttruman
      You get paid based on the revenue you generate. That’s only problematic for people who don’t understand how business works. WNBA players want to complain about equal pay as if they don’t understand that their sport doesn’t generate ANY profit. NCAA basketball is different. Please don’t tell me that these 1 and done players are getting some type of free education for the 6 months they’re in school 🤦‍♂️ barely anyone actually knows what they want to do in their first 6 months in college, let alone someone who only wants to play basketball. Probably 90% of people will change their major from what it was initially their freshman year. Sure they can go back at a later date but this “free education” is just a weak point in my opinion and that wouldn’t mean anything if college wasn’t a huge scam in the first place 😂😂 no education is worth 6 figures of debt

    • @dttruman
      @dttruman 5 лет назад

      @@Simon_Sez Only a slight few of the 1 and done, then do you agree most should stay in school at least 2 years? When you call college a scam, then I know you're a cynic. As for equal pay, that's a unique situation. Since most of the colleges get state and federal funding, they would have to comply with the equal pay rule.

    • @Simon_Sez
      @Simon_Sez 5 лет назад

      dttruman
      Care to explain how it’s not a scam? I said no education is worth 6 figures in debt and you had no response. I’m not sure how the college coaches can be paid millions and the players can be paid upwards of 6 figures under the table, but the Universities somehow still don’t have enough to make a legitimate path for their players to get paid. We can agree to disagree though, I’m just not one who believes it’s best to tell every kid they need to go to college because that leaves a large population stuck with debt before they even have an idea of what they truly want to study in school. I know far too many people who have fell in that trap and are essentially zombies in the matrix, forced to work off their debt until death 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ seems like a scam to keep people in a rut to me but that doesn’t mean it isn’t helpful for people in a lot of other ways lol nothing is all the way good or bad
