I think this might be your best tutorial yet! Am I right in thinking the beginning chain needs to be a multiple of 8 to get the basket weave stitch to work out right?
Multiples of 4, if you reeealllly want to be very even then yes 8 because with multiples of 4 you might end up with 8 front post or 8 normal stitches at the very end
Love the yarn you are using. I am going to make these wonderful mittens, but I will start with a chainless single foundation stitch for the boarder cuff as it is very stretchy. I crochet doilies and I use size #7 steel crochet hook. I was watching you crochet with your Grandmother's' steel #0 crochet hook and you were saying that your thumb hurts. I hold my hook the same way you hold your hook. I now have a permanent dent in my thumb from the small skinny hook. To help with this I went to the drugstore and bought a can of MOLE Skin (NOT REAL SKIN) it is a thick padding with a soft cover and a sticky side. Like a inner sole you put in a show. I cut it and wrapped my hooks in it and it works great.....NO MORE PAIN! I found that the hook cover holes are to big for the steel hooks. I hope this helps you and the pain in your thumb. Love your Videos.
It's so cool how you make all this stuff. Simply the best crocheting.
Someone will be blessed with very nice and warm mittens. Very nice! 💖
