listening as I am sitting in my apartment, in North Portland. I remember meeting Glasper around this time. He came along with me and a few friends to join us at a restaurant. During our ride there, I asked him if he knew Erik Satie, I played a few songs by him. It was great.
We are previous PDX residents and this is how the city sounds. Mr. Glasper caught it just right...He is our Vince Guaraldi and Bill Evans: Outstanding. Thank you sir.

Fave tune in this brilliant concert. His trio with Chris Dave, and his Black Radio are all great but it's this period I like.
I love how they make 5/4 sound so unbelievably natural and smooth
Robert Glasper 🔥🔥

Scott you should listen to St Annes by Ashley Henry. The chords sound much like a Vince Guaraldi composition
this makes a chill go down my spine. sad, mysterious and powerful.
My new favorite trio:)
So Nostalgic
North Portland ...oh yeah.....
