Federer’s forehand is so effortlessly simple and beautiful. Amazing how he hits the ball with a perfectly extended arm. Fognini’s is also very nice, with a simple and short swing and highly effective
I feel like watching this is far better than listening to any RUclips coach tell you how to swing. There’s obvious similarities to an elite level forehand. Basically all of their contact points are identical to one another. As long as you can do that, the rest seems like style.
id have to disagree, a lot of people wont understand what they are actually looking at. Its better to have it explained than trying to figure it out all on your own. Though once you understand the basics you can start to pick out details in everyones swings
It is simply a relaxed wrist that allows the racquet face and much of the throat to keep going back while the hand holding the racquet is rotated forward. Then the face rebounds like a pendulum helping to accelerate the racquet into the ball. When you see the face going back that is from momentum not a deliberate wrist movement.
man you can see the relative lack of drive on Murray's forehand. even a bit more horizontal followthrough would have made his career much easier. but you can't really change the fundamentals of what brought you to the top I guess.
love tennis a couple of questions. few hit the ball in front of the advanced foot , right ? almost all have left foot (righty players) in air while hitting, right ? Tsitsipas one of the few (if not the only one) to have not the ''palm down' during take back , right ? Thanks a lot for your response.
tennistavet if u have eastern grip u have to hit the ball closer to your body, but if u have semi western or western grip you are able to hit the ball more in front of your left foot. Also ur left foot should be on the ground after u hit the shot.
@@djordjekurcubic2615 The advantage of the eastern grip is to feel the plane of the racket as the plane of Your palm and to control the ball better, but sometimes semi-western one is more comfortable for top-spin. Western grip is better for high balls only. Eastern grip allows You to hit the ball far enough in front of the advanced foot. ruclips.net/video/9Tn7nWeGG5I/видео.html
Given the magnitude of extraneous racquet movement (momentum factor) of elite tennis players during stroke production. It is important for entry-level tennis players to receive proper mechanics instruction.
I have the feeling that Murray use much less his left arm that other players. What do u think ? I tried To focus on my left arm during last practice, aiming in front. Then my hit was more consistent
except for Nadal. He has his elbow relatively close (and facing down) to his body... the rest is quite similar to the other guys. His swing path towards the ball is often more vertical than the others' forehand due to his high topspin shot intention
Observations and my experience: chest muscles - flap the arm forward like a bird and mostly push ball into court. Forearm, bicep, shoulder - mostly produce topspin. Rest of body - contribute to both spin and forward motion Ball height - racquet must start lower for low, higher for high, so elbow is basically adjusted by shoulder, same swing path otherwise. Racquet starts pointed upwards to some degree, chest is stretched back ( loaded), arm straightened as racquet is dropped or thrown down. Racquet dips below horizontal and bounces upward off straight arm and sdropped wrist quickly. As the racquet bounces upwarss it normally strikes ball when horizontal at peak speed( vertically and horizontally) to transfer topspin
Everyone in the video is practicing hard, except Roger... who clearly is on his vacation hitting with his wife Mirka! You don't need to practice hard when you are already the greatest.
Only Nadal has the correct forehand stroke, but still one mistake, he swing the Racket around his head, there are two things to correct the forehand stroke,, swing your elbows up, follow through is the relaxation of the stroke, after hitting the ball.

Love fogninis
Racquet lag, windshield wiper over the ball, legs in shot, great torso rotation, great follow through ... a beauty to watch one and all. 👏
Finally a video without music... great vid, great edit
Thanks for the comment
Without music... Omfg there is a sound controller on RUclips and even on m'y device !!!!
Just jk nice work
Surely you could just turn your sound down if there was music...
I can't even fathom how Roger moves into the baseline with that much extension and still has picture perfect timing and contact.🤔🙏🙏💪

Two ofensive players🔥
love the fognini forehand

There are just no adjustments in the movement of Federer, i think thats why it looks so effortless and smooth

Would love one of these same vids of backhands. Thanks for the vids!
This is awesome.
All great shots! Thanks for this awesome video!
Thank you very much

i play tennis i hit a forehand like djokovic this video ws really helpful i thought federers movement and forehand was the best

Your opinion
@@vlruatasailo8863 federer has best FH in his best years …. 2003 to 2012 that was best tennis shot in history of this sport

Who’s that at 2:50?
Here to work on my golf game.
すごい
who is in 8:31?
Jack Sock's Forehand is the most compact and fast all rested are about old fashion less or more .
A picture is worth 1,000 words...
Crazy grips on some of these forehands
That’s the difference between us and the pros
No it's not
Eyes on the ball while hitting.
Anyone feels the contact point of almost atp players not really right at the farrest point in front of the body? Just my feeling.
Best balanced forehand has Fed, Rafa, Fognini, Dimitrov, imho. Tsipas also not bad.
i just realized i always pointed my elbows downward, now i see almost all the pros pointed there elbows backward when pulling the racket...
Whatever gets you to involve the chest musclea in flapping your arm forward.
Same thing here! My elbow has been wrong for so long
except for Nadal. He has his elbow relatively close (and facing down) to his body... the rest is quite similar to the other guys. His swing path towards the ball is often more vertical than the others' forehand due to his high topspin shot intention
Nadal's forehand should essentially be called something OTHER than a forehand! It just doesn't belong in the same category as anyone else's forehand.
Coric forehand is so feminine:)
Wawrinka mishit at 1:16 pretty sure ;)
I think you may be right 😂 see even the pros do it!
I'll take Federer's
Observations and my experience:
chest muscles - flap the arm forward like a bird and mostly push ball into court.

Nadal has the nastiest topspin of all times, that causes the most trouble to his opponents in different generations.

よくテニス雑誌に、準備動作に「ユニットターン」とか書いてあるけど、なんか単純に横を向いているだけに見える。それより打ちに行くときと打ち終わったときに「ユニットターン」しているように見える。
Ok quiet thks

C'est dommage que pour être efficace le mouvement de coup droit soit devenu aussi malsain pour le bras

What’s very interesting is that they all jump and I would think that would give you less balance. But apparently not lol
they initiate the forward swing from pushing off from the ground with their legs resulting "jump" as you say, but it is dynamic balance.
Man Rog looked so much better in Nike. Uniqlo's designs are so far behind 😢
god I hate that western forehand - yes i am old
lol
I think wawrinka miss hit his
Fe dis the only one that can hit a forehand...the rest is just flaws in the grip,or at the preparation,or just too long of a stroke..
