Back when you commented this, yes, that was the case. However, nowadays, Jon's voice is barely a whisper of what it once was, while Richie's is still very strong. And we all know that Richie is the better guitarist and songwriter of the two. The band's material would sound a lot more boring if Richie hadn't co-written 80% of the band's pre-WAN material.
i find this track so personal and meaningful, as hard times came easy but seemed endless for Richie. Maybe it's just painful for him to sing it every concert and place this song on his album.

I don't think so. The song doesn't appear on the album 'Aftermath of the Lowdown'. Maybe it was cut out, but I don't know why--it's one of the best songs I've heard from him. I hope he puts it on a future album.
