    One of the best explained videos IV seen doing the same on a hj60 thank you for the time it took to make this video . Cheers

      The 60 series can be just as bad for rust, at least they'll always hold their value if fixed properly though

    thanks mate great video, with the amount of time I have spent grinding, bogging.sanding & painting, I could have fixed it properly which is what I will do when it bubbles out next time, cheers

    How did you grind back the outer skin and leave the drip rail exposed on one side? Can't see how it can be done with a grinder.

    • @leighhills1
      @leighhills1  2 года назад +1

      Tin snips going down, a freshly sharpened chisel will slice through sheet metal then clean up with a die grinder or file sander

    • @leighhills1
      @leighhills1  2 года назад +1

      If the skin can be pulled up enough for snips to fit, a pair of green snips should be able to cut the left side and red snips to cut the right, if a spot weld is close by stopping it from being able to be pried up just use a spot weld cutter to release the skin

    do u pull the hood line out and coat ur welds so they don’t rust ?

    • @leighhills1
      @leighhills1  3 года назад +2

      I did yeah even found a dead mouse was pretty rank, in my other video repairing sill rust you'll be able to see how to rust proof panels internally using a degreaser gun

    • @braytait6254
      @braytait6254 3 года назад

      @@leighhills1 also how did u make the patch for the outer skin. just trying to get my head around how to get it close to the same as the rest of the roof? like when u used the roofing steel and did you go from that to putting it onto the big patch for the outer ?

    • @leighhills1
      @leighhills1  3 года назад

      @@braytait6254 yeah I just used the roofing steel as a template, if you don't have a press or panbrake just take your car to a sheet metal fabricator and they could press up a new piece

    wat settings you using for ur mig mate ?

    • @leighhills1
      @leighhills1  3 года назад

      All welders are different with their settings, there's probably a few videos on RUclips you can watch on how to set up for sheet metal, in my other videos I show how the welds need to look underneath and have a few tips on making patches
