@@AlpineTV Awesome. I think they will require some in depth coverage given that there is a pro model with and the regular ones that are both constructed slightly differently and they have completly different crossovers. Im still not sure which ones to go for so some coverage would certainly help me decide which ones will be right for my build. Recently got an ILX 507 and reverse cam andthey are an awesome pairing . now im a full-on alpine fan! the rest of the tech in my car (2012 toyota mark X) needs to be at this level! Im going for R series speakers but I will decide between the pro and regular after I see your content (Im particular interested in the diference between the crossovers as that will change how I approach instalation to my build at the planning stages. I will be using R series front and rear, powered by an alpine X-A70F, and Im thinking a S-series halo sub and amp or the shallow R series 12. like I said...all alpine! and later on im gonna add the alpine dash cam😎😎😎.... I just HAVE to know all the crucial details about the R2 and R2 pro series. Installtion tips....key differences...What are the lengths of the included cables? are they detchable? whats the recommended speaker gauge, to connect to the pre fixed cables? etc. give us all the details, Im looking for a proper unboxing vid of those beauties please! They deserve it. Love the way the alpine status technologies has trickled down to them and I think that in itself deserves plenty of discussion...yeah you should be able to tell by now im a fan of the R2 series! I want to know everything about them! They are going to make long journeys in my car that lil but more enjoyable! 😀

@@AlpineTV Also...is a 10" good for a sedan or 12"...Im thinking if I can save a bit of money on the subwoofer side of things, but would a 10" sub sound weak inside the trunk of a mid sized sports sedan (roughly the size of a bmw 3 series trunk, for reference, as I know Toyota mark x is not sold in the US)

The question of whether or not a single 10" R-series subwoofer would be sufficient in your particular install is completely subjective. It might be more than enough for some people, but others will be completely underwhelmed. It depends on YOUR particular Expectations.
Personally, I would always go for a larger diameter subwoofer over smaller subs, because due to simple physics, a larger diameter subwoofer can play lower frequencies much more easily than smaller subs.
The "Fs" or *Resonant Frequency* spec for a subwoofer determines How Low it can play in any given enclosure size and type. You will see that larger diameter subwoofers will naturally have a lower Fs, and therefore will naturally play lower in frequency compared to smaller subwoofers.
For my tastes and expectations, I would want a minimum of Two 10" subs, but preferably Two 12" subs...Or a single 15".
The old saying is still true..."There is no replacement for displacement"! Larger and/or Multiple Subwoofers can "displace" or MOVE a lot more air, which is what it takes to produce deep, loud bass.
In one of my vehicles, I could not fit even a single 12" or 15" subwoofer, so I opted to install FOUR 8" subwoofers, which provide just slightly more Cone Area (Sd) than a single 15", and my 8" subwoofers had similar total Linear Xmax (excursion) as most good 15" subs.
The overall Cone Area (Sd) combined with the Linear Xmax (excursion) of any subwoofer determine the Maximum SPL that can be achieved.
If in doubt, always go with a larger diameter subwoofer, or multiple smaller subwoofers.
FYI, the vast majority of "popular music" only contains Bass Frequencies down to ~30Hz. A kick drum/bass drum fundamental note is usually between 45Hz-60Hz, and 4-string electric bass guitar goes down to ~40Hz.
If you like Bass Heavy music genres such as Hip-Hop and Rap music, then I would plan for more than a single 10" subwoofer. 😂

Eric, I've loved and used Alpine products for over 25 years, but are you guys serious about the "Black PCB" to reduce "interference" or SQ degradation due to exposure to common LIGHT??? LOL
For starters, PLEASE tell me HOW this PCB will EVER be "exposed" to ANY significant amount of LIGHT when the amplifier's internals are Completely Enclosed in the housing and heat sink??? ...AS WELL AS usually being installed in a dark trunk or under a seat where they would be exposed to extremely low levels of "light pollution". 😅
I'm sorry, but you guys are starting to delve into "Audiophile Snake Oil" territory which greatly saddens me and results in a great loss of respect for your ethics and products.
If you are going to make such bold and ludicrous claims and statements, PLEASE publish the scientic research and data that Alpine has done that supports this "technology".

iOS does not support the DSP application. It used to support it, but I just bought the product, now it doesn't support it, it's like a joke. Why did this happen?
