I had a Harley 1200 sporty while in the Army stationed in Germany. Put 9000 miles on it in Bavaria, Austria, Switzerland, Southeastern France, and Northern Italy. Some of the best roads in the world. Perfectly smooth pavement, banked curves, cool towns and awesome scenery. Highly recommended.
Iam one month away from my trip to Italian and Austrian Alps with my new Suzuki Vstrom 1000 XT. As someone who lives near like 300 km away Iam really happy that adventure is just around the corner and there is so many passes to explore.
Yeah, sadly you were missing one of the best: VSTROM> Second, the S.T> 1200 is loaded with features and was a pleasure to ride in NH. As for the BMW , once again like the cars, people just gravitate toward history.
Yea mate, it took a long time. Usually these beemers get total final drive failure much earlier. The modern post-2k BMW's only good with a warranty. Otherwise don't touch it.
I don't think it was part of their group, but the 1000 would have been an awesome bike to include. I think if BMW hosts an event they stay away from the budget priced version of the GS 1200...Suzuki Vstrom 1000.
That must have been amazing for your readers. To bad you did not do a test of adventure riding. Camping on and off road. And hotel. Any touring sport touring can do these types of adventures.
Strange, I have ridden the BMW GS and GSA LC but I like the handling and the engine of the Yamaha Super Tenere more. It vibrates less, due to the double counterweight shaft, and windprotection is better cause Yamaha designs it's motorcycles in a windtunnel. It has less power yhea, but overall, I think the Yamaha doesnt get the credit it deserves. Can't say anything for the other bikes other than that I dont like chain bikes.
The whole point of a 1200cc adventure bike is the ability to drive 1000 miles before reaching the Alps and starting your tour properly. If you're going fly/hire then use a 500.
non of them would make half way to leh without one or two set back alpine roads are to good to be considered as an adventure ride :P no offence Europe has a good roads sometimes good roads are pretty boring
Eurobikes or Japanesebikes which way do I go. I want a sports bike capabilities to go on long trips with comfort and go off road to go camping--- Its like a room full of gorgeous ladies who do I fall in love with---
@@jonasv19 I looked it up, and I must admit the 2021 version of that bike does look pretty damn good. I couldn't see the headlight, but I hope it is symmetrical.
I would be so pissed if I paid to go on that tour and they made me ride so slow up the Stelvio Pass. I'd probably punch to tour leader. What a pompous jerk.
The Stelvio is overrated, unless you do it very early in the morning it's way too busy with cyclists, motorhomes, busses and other bikes and you end up crawling along in 1st gear. Hairpins are not much fun on a bike anyway, there are so many better roads for bikes in the alps.
that guy from Brazil was a proper character ... he would make a great riding buddy
We Brazilians are very enthusiastic about the things we like/love and we can never hide it.
cwugrad396 he also really looks like cool suffer dude too! With his dreadlocks...

Good for you for riding while stationed over there! I drove all over but never had a bike there. Yeah those are lifetime memories.

This is still one of my favorite clips on YT ... SO much fun comming along for the ride .. I can almost afford one of the 2010 gs 's at this point ..
This is the best motorcycle channel on youtube!
Awesome movie, beautiful too and what a great crowd. More of this, Ari & Co!
WAIT!
what about the Kawasaki Versys 1000 shown at 7:00 ?
5 days 4 countrys, only in europe.
Only in europe you can do this in 1 day, with ease!
Yeah, sadly you were missing one of the best: VSTROM> Second, the S.T> 1200 is loaded with features and was a pleasure to ride in NH. As for the BMW , once again like the cars, people just gravitate toward history.
Biker's dream, a biking royal treat
My God, what a job and life. Riding through European countries on motorcycles, past glacial ponds, and eating warm apple strudels.
cant wait for my alps trip in march
Looks like you found the 1.5km gravel section of the Umbrail Pass. It was finally surfaced last year so it's all tarmac now.
That will be nice next year! Crossing the alps with my first bike!
Beautiful video about riding in the alps! I've been there two times now. Can't wait to go there again.
Absolute Amazing Show!!!!!!!
I own the crousstour and it’s slowly becoming my Unicorn bike
this is like one hell of a ride.. oh man! I wish I could ride in this smooth road. Good luck guy. Always like your videos :)
Crosstourer also sold in Australia and no doubt - New Zealand
Lucky, lucky, lucky bastards
I guess i'm a lucky guy that i just have to ride about 2 hours until i hit the Alps.. :D
Holy shit that was a guy from Brazil in there!!! That is so awesome, I only wish I were there =(..
Azeqsdte
Watched a few of your videos, you have won me over so I subscribed to your Mag too on IPad 😀
Thanks, Alex! We've got some really exciting stories and videos planned for 2017, so stay tuned.
What time of the year was this shot?
Man I would love that trip
Another awesome episode from last year! Can't wait for the new ones!

Perfect team 👌💙
great vid, BMW just seems to come on top on every review
Yup. I’m on a good ol’ ‘05 GS! The water cooled ones were another big leap forward.
Beautiful views./ Amazing.
These guys are lucky
In BMW gs1200 after 47000 km gearbox demaged in long term Polish test.
Yea mate, it took a long time. Usually these beemers get total final drive failure much earlier. The modern post-2k BMW's only good with a warranty. Otherwise don't touch it.
MTB also in the German 50k km test....
Where exactly is this, at 11:01?
not sure 100% but it should be Passo Sella. At 10:40 Passo Giau. Both in the Dolomites
How about testing the BMW K1600GT? I bet that would do well in the Alps, and also do a Commute, please and thanx :)
insane trip! wish I did something like this b4 my health restricted me to short rides : (
Hope you’re doing well brother!
great adventure ,thanks for sharing,,..
I have watched a lot of videos with ADV comparison but none of them has the Aprilia Caponard 1200. Is there any reason or I am so unlucky? thanks
Been there, done that. On a Harley-Davidson to boot. Every rider’s dream route.
Hello!
I can't speak English very well. The Triumph is better than the Yamaha or no?
I see this was from 5 years back. Is there a newer one featuring the 2019 R1250GS?
That gave a new dream... I got to go there...
What helmet is showcased on 9:36?
Looks like AGV AX-8.
Was riding slow required?
But that V-Strom 650 at 11:27 tho... :-D
I don't think it was part of their group, but the 1000 would have been an awesome bike to include. I think if BMW hosts an event they stay away from the budget priced version of the GS 1200...Suzuki Vstrom 1000.
BMW shaft drive? Had an R80GS and R100GS. Surprised to see F850 was chain drive.
amazing
Hey!! Why did Aprilia not supply a Caponord ?
That must have been amazing for your readers. To bad you did not do a test of adventure riding. Camping on and off road. And hotel. Any touring sport touring can do these types of adventures.
What Jacket is the host wearing in this video?
I'm the GS fan! The BMW G 1200 GS
* R1200 GS
How can a fan constitute such a trivial yet grave mistake?

How do I get this job.
GREAT ...,WISH I HAD THE CHANCE

I am from Austria
Wüst an Keks?
Where is 'varadero' ?
Nobody talked about the Honda...?
bring these bikes to kHardungla India and then you will know which of them has earned itself to be called the adventure tourer.
jajajaj the hair on this dude
how the hell do you get a job like this?
If you want real adventure vist Himalaya
It is like all of these manufacturers purposely made their bikes ugly.
Epic
2018 anyone ??
non of them would make half way to leh without one or two set back
alpine roads are to good to be considered as an adventure ride :P no offence
Europe has a good roads
sometimes good roads are pretty boring
I have done Leh (and beyond) on an Avenger 220 without any set back. I think these bikes are more than capable of doing that.
Harshit Kandpal he means the bikers, not the bikes.
Oh sorry. Yeah that might be true. Though they seem pretty competent to me.
10:56 I can imagine. If it comes to roads, U.S. is a third world country.
Eurobikes or Japanesebikes which way do I go. I want a sports bike capabilities to go on long trips with comfort and go off road to go camping--- Its like a room full of gorgeous ladies who do I fall in love with---
websurfer63 africa twin, man. Or if you want to save some money and dont care about horsepower, Honda's CB500X is pretty great.
KTM 1290 Super Adventure S will do all that and make you smile with every flick of your wrist!
No Guzzi..am disappointed...!
Carai um brasileiro !!
Those dreads.
All of these bikes are hideous looking, I especially dislike the asymmetry of the BMW headlight. Why can't they make one of these bikes look great?
I think the new S1000XR looks pretty smart.
@@jonasv19 I looked it up, and I must admit the 2021 version of that bike does look pretty damn good. I couldn't see the headlight, but I hope it is symmetrical.
@@TheHomeExpert5 yes, LED and symmetrical now. Wasn’t a fan of the asymmetry either. Some people seemed to love it though
Beautiful welcom to Israel
No European crab for me honda or the yamaha .

Jealous. One day
Ah, to be rich...
no white guys with dreads.

Adv my A@@
always that gs... just buy a car. motorcycling is not about perfect comfort
