The kit really sounds great for recording. It was very easy to mix. I used it to record a new 3 sound trailer album with chris Poland from megadeth. It is called Emergence on beatchamber records.
Thanks for the in-depth kit tuning. This is what sets the TD-50 apart. I love the sounds of my TD-50 set. Go get yourself a good pair of studio monitors (even with a sub) and you’ll definitely be able to create and tune awesome sounds or entire great kits and enjoy the heck out of it.
I was a bit negative about the TD50 but it was mainly because I could not afford it a first. I got the upgrade as a gift and I am totally blown away by it. I'm even more impressed at how well the module and triggers work with Slate drums for my blackbird sounds. Great job Roland.
@@nickcds3419 But the native sounds are aweful! I have a fully miked yamaha maple custom beside my td 50, and compared to the yamahas, the td 50 doesnt even sound like drums at all. I still got my Roland HD-3 V-Drums Lite kit, since 2012, wich I still love. Very solid e-drum, still like new! I recorded 318 videos using most of the HD-3 drum kit sounds. But the new TD-50 is fantastic!! Congratulations Roland!

I do wish the pitch showed the actual pitch, & not just a random +/- number (tuning my kit to an Em pentatonic would've been a lot quicker had that been the case)
Update to 1.6. Definitely makes quite a difference to sound. Also have a look at the Vexpressions VDrums addon site. They've done a great 50 kit tweak of settings to create custom kits. worth every £/ $/ €. Really do sound excellent. There are some sound samples on the site.

Question If I have a TD25KV kit, can I switch the TD25 module out and just exchange it for this? I prefer the smaller more compact style of the TD25, but I like the TD50's modules better for it's expansive set.
Hey! It’s definitely possible to use the TD-50 module with the TD-25KV kit. You have two options; buy the TD-50 module only or purchase the TD-50DP digital upgrade pack including module, digital snare and digital ride pads. The module will mount to the same clamp, in the same way that the TD-25 module uses - just swap one module out for the other. The TD-50 module connects to your existing pads via individual stereo ¼ inch jack cables (the TD-25 uses a wiring loom) so you will need as many stereo jack cables (around 1M length minimum) for the number of pads you want to connect to the TD-50. If you upgrade to the TD-50DP pack including digital ride and snare pads, the CY-18DR digital ride can mount to the existing cymbal of the MDS-9SC stand (the stand of your TD-25KV kit) but you will need to use a snare stand for the PD-140DS digital snare. Hope this helps :)
Yes, but actually the concepts are not comparable. Editing in the TD-50 is much more elaborate, samples have been "coded" completely different. That's why TD-50 doesn't need any loading time when switching between kits.

Is this the same guy who turned drumeo into a rave? and am I the only one that'd prefer electric drums? i'd love an SJC Roland hybrid kit and you nailed the ride, it's like it sounds heavy and if you picked it up it'd weigh the same as a regular ride and it feels heavy to play

ive been trying for the longest time to figure out how to use 2 multi effects at once for one instrument such as using auto pan and reverse delay for the snare
Can you tell me whether the td50 has the ability to download a sample package that changes randomly, as in the library? That is, the kick is the same, but sounds different due to the fact that samples change each other from the pack .

Hello, Roland! I'm considering getting a td50 but there are some questions I can't find any answers to online: Can you process your imported user samples with the 30 effects? and is it possible to pitch the imported user samples? In general what kind of processing can you do to your user samples?
The TD-50 delivers sound authentic enough for most music genres live or even in most studio productions in modern music genres. And btw it is the best and fastest drum2MIDI system att.Just the price is a bit... so don't cry about "bad sounding samples" if you don't play music where the target audiences live on stage/recordings can't hear any difference. And if you have better samples - hook em into this...ß)
Sakis Agent depends how hard you play but I often play after 11pm with my sleeping son in the room next door. I use the KT9 kick pedal at night. It’s completely silent. I use thinner sticks at night and play with the volume turned down a bit so I’m more aware of the mechanical noise I’m making in the room. During the day I play as hard as I like all day and the neighbors wouldn’t have a clue I’m a drummer. There are also Noise Eaters available from Roland that go under the pedals that kill most of the mechanical transmission too. All good.
@@onomatopoeidia on-triggers seem to be a nice silent product...I will certainly try em at some point!I use a 22 bass drum with a silentstroke and a 2box external trigger for now. With the mesh head quite loose and the bass drum stuffed with foam-blankets etc,it gives a nice triggering result with low noise:)
Sakis Agent nice. The silent stroke is not designed for triggering though hence the difficulty, false triggers and too much bounce. That’s why they make the dual ply ones for Roland’s V-Drums. Proper triggering as designed.
For me this is the worst part of buying s new kit lol. It takes time to find the sound you’re looking for. Especially with this, the possibilities are endless.
Hello everyone, I'm French and I have a Roland TD 50 KV, and there is a cymbal that makes a ride noise that I can't change, I looked in the manual and I tried all the options to give it a crash noise, which is supposed to be the origin but it makes a ride noise when I tap on it... does anyone have the solution?
DrumRoody There is no "fight" as both are totally different concepts : TD-50 has a total drumset concept with digital snare & ride, Mimic Pro is a module only.
iheartcomps those overpriced pads will last you forever, I have a PD-125 from 2006 and it’s still like the first day, i bought an alesis 12” pad and within 3 months the cones were falling apart...
Excelente.
I got something for you. I’ve called Akaipro about this issue and Rolandus. No one seems to know this. Ok I’m using The Roland TD-50 E Kit. So I program some Midi inside of the MPCX thinking that I can bounce it down to Audio with-in the MPCX. Everyone Says no it can’t be done. So I’m like Why can’t it. It’s Midi Data Info. The Roland Brain is connect USB Into The MPCX So I have to bounce the Midi out take it over into Protools Which Sucks then using USB To Roland TD 50 Sound Brain.
I think people forgot it always sounds better when you play it even if your a terrible drummer when you play it just feels better becuase you know your grove
Hey, a while back I invested in these- more recently updated to the TD50. If you can't play acoustics or want to practice for hours and not worry about bothering anyone these really feel damn close to the real thing. There are ways to get comparable pads, minus the digital pads for much less than this retails... Drumtec has some pretty cool offerings, jobeky as well. You could probably put something comparable or better together for 5 grand maybe less if you really try. You don't have to have 4 toms etc... If you have an acoustic bass you can convert that for less than $300 and have a much better feel vs the roland std kick pad for $900... If you're motivated you can accomplish anything... Ha ha! Good luck!
I love roland gear. I have quite a few bits ranging from a JP8 to a TD9KXv2 drum kit. I generally like the videos they produce to punt their new gear. This video, sadly, is a bit pants as all it does is show you how to make a fatter sound (and especially in the case of the cymbal) by simply selecting a different sound and tweaking that! "Don't use this voice, its crap.... use this one. Its like saying "make your car go faster" "Before" a fiat 500 105mph, "after" An M3 155mph. Simply jack up the battery of your Fiat 500 and slide an M3 underneath. I think a demonstration of this new kit could have been better. I really like my TD9 kit, it just lacks the ability to bring in fresh sample voices. Still a brilliant piece of equipment though.
My Brand new (2019-05-28) Roland TD-50 locked up while importing this sample pack. Anyone see any videos on how to unluck the F--KER?!?!?!?! I'm furious!!! I can't use the kit at all because nothing responds now. No buttons, no dials, the power button doesn't even respond. I have to pull the plug out to turn it off.
@@russellp2825 I had to send the box back to the retailer, fullcompass.com, who took full responsibility for the problem. They had me send the brain to them, corrected the problem and sent it back to me within 2 weeks and no return postage. If you go to fullcompass.com, you'll see that I am the only person to leave a review on the kit.
Laurdess Valentino, To say that the td50 sounds false is not to understand anything. probably you may not use electronic drums, the actual sound of that module varies depending first on the amplification used, in this video they are using a simple basic box with high and medium sound frequencies at the most, you can identify very little or nothing of low frequencies. In addition to this, the modules come with basic presets which have to be worked on in various forms of customization. So that you see the point in discussion, once you understand and achieve a good customization, an electronic drum on this Pro Level (included TD17-TD20-TD20X-TD30) sounds like an acoustic drum passed by a table (Mixxer), with microphones and checked by a sound engineer. think and know more before giving a verdict of that level especially if you do not know well the current electronic systems of electronic drums... Regards
Is it just me, or do these sound totally artificial? I’m on the fence now that the price dropped $1000, but, outside of more features, the sounds....idk....they are not doing anything for me....☹️
Stop using that German bald dude to play the drums! He plays way too loud without any room to hear the dynamics. Overall you should consider getting different people to play your drums. Does anyone there actually like drums as an instrument, or is it just a bunch of engineers thrown together? Also dear Roland, this is a $7K kit. Why does the average sound resemble a $7 plastic kit. Lazy, lazy Roland.
'How to add more snare punch', where he proceeds to make the snare deeper, yet tune it higher, add muffling yet turn up the overtone (?). Come on Roland, get an actual drummer on your team

Can you tell me whether the td50 has the ability to download a sample package that changes randomly, as in the library? That is, the kick is the same, but sounds different due to the fact that samples change each other from the pack .
aside from the build quality and the outputs and more inputs how much better is the td-50 than the td-27 for sounds and playability?
I was thinking of buying a Roland kit,,,is it possible to play slow beats on them without continuous fills? Just wondered?
12:40 - 12:46 🔥🔥🔥
The module really hasn't changed that much and now with fewer drums yay!
changes from TD30: 10 Balanced outs, independent drummers levels mixer, 24bit sample load, 10 out 4 in multi-channel USB, 4 track Sd Card streaming audio playback, digital triggers, expanded V-Editing with cymbal thickness, ping level, kick sub channels, overhead mics vs room mics, faster processing, more flexible routing, 3x as many effects units, transient designer for every sound, sound layering for every pad, new digital snare, new digital ride, MIDI sync in/out kit, colours, hi-resolution MIDI, 2x MIX-in ports, 2x headphone outs, MIDI and Audio recording in real-time with export and re-import for instant triggering, sample waveform editor built-in and, and,
Could I use this in a downstairs apartment?!
Is it only for WAV files? What about MP3?
Hello, Roland! I'm considering getting a td50 but there are some questions I can't find any answers to online:
Can you process your imported user samples with the 30 effects? and is it possible to pitch the imported user samples?
In general what kind of processing can you do to your user samples?
Did you ever buy the td-50? I’ve wondered also if you can pitch/edit imported samples.
@@russellp2825 No I ended up with two SPD SX instead for my setup.
I live in a condo and would like to hear how it sounds without the amps, any videos ?
sounds like a fully miked up kit with which you can create any sound you've ever craved. Just get some nice headphones.
@@onomatopoeidia i guess he meant the ambient noise the kit makes...How loud does it get...
Holy Shit!!!
can't wait for the mimic pro, SSD have the best samples. will be a good fight between these 2
DrumRoody There is no "fight" as both are totally different concepts : TD-50 has a total drumset concept with digital snare & ride, Mimic Pro is a module only.
Competition is good for everybody
tell roland to start using real samples and lower the price on your overpriced pads
iheartcomps those overpriced pads will last you forever, I have a PD-125 from 2006 and it’s still like the first day, i bought an alesis 12” pad and within 3 months the cones were falling apart...
does it actually only come with 15 kits?
Excelente.
José Lino Oliveira ehm, no...
I think people forgot it always sounds better when you play it even if your a terrible drummer when you play it just feels better becuase you know your grove
damn, i really want this kit, but its like 8000€, i think i will never be able to play this drums. :(
Hey, a while back I invested in these- more recently updated to the TD50. Ha ha! Good luck!
バスドラ最初の設定時の段階でデフォルトの音が違うんだけどどういうこと…?
Very underwhelming for the price.
I disagree.
Agreed
HOLY SHIT I didn't know Stephan Bodzin played the drums!!!!
Whatever happened with this? Did you get it fixed?
@@russellp2825 I had to send the box back to the retailer, fullcompass.com, who took full responsibility for the problem. They had me send the brain to them, corrected the problem and sent it back to me within 2 weeks and no return postage. If you go to fullcompass.com, you'll see that I am the only person to leave a review on the kit.

Seems like the TD30 was the last big leap.
Jordan nope, the digital snare and ride are
They really need to team up with superior drummer or Steven slate drums
I wish you could do this with instruments like 808. It is a drag man.
7k and they STILL sound fake.
I’m on the fence now that the price dropped $1000, but, outside of more features, the sounds....idk....they are not doing anything for me....☹️
Well I listened on headphones and so far I prefer the sounds I created for my TD6!
Far too much bass for some reason. Uninspired.
Hate that ride man. The bell is so loud. Can't get it mixed right
I can't help but note they sound very un-dynamic and weird because Michael Schack is not a very musical player
6:42 lol
What was laugh out loud funny at 6:42?
Daniel Williams yea idgi
Worst sounding samples!
it sounds like Alesis drum machine from early 90s. dislike.
For the price the sounds are just terrible
So no one is gonna talk abouy Kenny Aronoff lookalike with ADHD?.. Geez.. Couldn't get through the 1st minute of this video
A Linn drum sound better
just load those single shot sounds in. Simple google search. EZ
It’s an expensive toy to have only at home
pedrotakiya So is a quality sex doll...
I love my kit........hi-hat not so much
Stop using that German bald dude to play the drums!
Right? I'd go so far as to add the other two are highly unmusical players too. All shredding and no actual playing to be seen
'How to add more snare punch', where he proceeds to make the snare deeper, yet tune it higher, add muffling yet turn up the overtone (?). Come on Roland, get an actual drummer on your team
Meh
Schack needs anti seizure medication.
Why do these drummers have to over play when showcasing new products?... these sample sound shit as well
You have to really put in time to make them sound great. It is almost too customizable.
Hate that ride man. The bell is so loud. Can't get it mixed right
