Who connects German music to names like Peer Raben ( for Fassbinder ); Claus Baltzer ( for Peter Lilienthal ); Rolfe Riehm ( for documentaries ) or even the excellent Popol Vuh ( for Herzog ), can't imagine that there are composers who make delicious music like " multimedia " Christian Bruhn for " Captain Future " ( as well as Klaus Doldinger for Wolfgang Petersen ) - and with relation to Bruhn in " Captain Future ", with a small group: Gunther Gebauer ( bass ); Todd Canedy ( drums ); Mats Bjornklund ( guitar ); Christian Bruhn and Kristian Schulze ( keyboards ); the beautiful vocals in the main & end titles and " Hurra, Wir Fliegen " is the folk singer Erika Gotz ( Bruhn's new wife at the time ). "Captain Future" (1978 - 1979) is an animated series from Japan about the adventures of the name giving space captain and his crew they experience around new worlds. It became a cult classic around the globe and one of the best known animes to be ever produced, with fantastic visuals. The original music was composed by Yuji Ohno but as the music track couldn't be separated from the vocal dub, a new music score had to be written and recorded for practically every new dub. So it happened that the series received a few different musical scores, among them the French one by Jean Jacques Debout and the German one by Christian Bruhn. Over time, the stellar and catchy score by Bruhn received the status of being a classic itself, appreciated and loved by many and today you can experience it for yourself. Enjoy the flight!
I am just watching Captain Future at the SyFy channel in Germany. Captain Future. My first crush as a kid. 😃And the other characters were amazing, too. Otto, Grag, Professor Simon... Still love the series and the soundtrack is outstanding and stood the test of time well. Still sounds futuristic yet 40 years old.
