Looks very nice, think I'll try this on a slightly smaller scale, I'm amazed at your clematis, it's a very vigorous plant, I've never seen one that grows that fast here in ireland before
Perfectly done video. All sound levels are perfect, your voice is pleasant and professional and the instructions are crystal clear. I may not make this exact trellis, but if I wanted to, I have 100 percent confidence I could pull it off, even though I'm not as good at carpentry as you clearly are. Bravo.
Beautiful trellis! Love this video! I have a question tho...any issues with drilling straight through your vinyl siding and into the sheathing underneath? I haven't installed a trellis due to concerns it would allow water to leak in over time. This is the only video on line showing a drill through install so I was thrilled to see it in action. Thanks so much for sharing this project! Very inspiring!
It’s a very small risk because the hole is smaller than the screw’s diameter. So it had to push its way through the siding and I’m betting that water won’t penetrate. To be extra cautious, you can put clear caulk in the hole beforehand and a bead around the spacer where it butts the siding. Also be sure the screw anchor pitches up slightly toward the house. Not a lot; just enough so water goes the other way.
So you say now that after I bought two - just kidding. The way I look at it is..this is like those huge phones that were as big as a brick and had that long antenna sticking up. In time, just like phones, it will be much better. Check out the upcoming Jelly Smart Phone if you get a chance.
Hi there! Great video. We are in the process of building this and have run into a problem regarding the radius. It looks like you stopped cutting before the end on the radius and did some sort of straight cut I assume to drill the lag bolts in. When do you stop cutting in the radius and then go straight, and what are dimensions of straight pieces. Thank you.
+ucanbethechange The flat part is just edge of the board; I marked the arc smaller than necessary so there would be a few inches of flat are on both sides for the lag bolts, as you suspected. It doesn't need to be exact, just 2 or 3 inches - whatever looks best to you.
The the process was clearly explained and easy to follow, your voice is so suiting and relaxing to listen. The result is amazing.
Thanks so much 😊

Your narration is excellent.
Thanks 😊
Thanks for posting this. You motivated me to do this project and I appreciate the great instructions an materials list.
This turned out so beautiful, I'll definitely try this once I finally move. Love your videos 👍🏻
Nicely done video and excellent workmanship. Great instructions.
Thanks so much 😊
Thanks for this video, Chris. Been looking for some time to find a nice looking trellis plan. Going to give yours a try next weekend.
Awesome! Send me pictures chris@handydad.tv
Nicely done!

Very nice trellis. You did a great job.
Thanks 😊
Lovely trellis!
Thanks 😊
Excellent job! Just beautiful
Thanks so much 😊
Beautiful job!
Thanks so much 😊
Do the spacers connected to wall with lag screws go into studs?
No just into the plywood sheathing behind the siding.
Wow, beautiful. Great video!
I loved this! Thanks!
Thanks so much 😊
Good job. Very professionally done. I say you make them and sell them.
I'm a bit late. Beautiful job. Just what I'm looking for.
A fun quarantine project for sure.
@@handydadtv Yes. For sure.
Looks really nice! Good job!
Where do I get the plans for this? I can't find on your website. Also, in the video you used Fir, not pressure treated
handydad.tv/trellis has the dimensions. I didn’t make a plan. And I assure you, it’s 100% pressure treated.
Wow! Great job! Thank you for sharing!!
My pleasure
It's really beautiful, thanks for sharing : )
My pleasure. Thanks for watching. 😊
Terrific inspiration. When attaching the top of the trellis to the house are you driving the lag screws into studs? Thank you for your feedback!
+Jeff Phillips Doubtful. Probably just sheathing. A stud finder wouldn't work through vinyl siding.
Pro-quality work, very nice. That time lapse at the end was a nice touch. By the way, what do you think about Amazon's new Echo Show?
+LessThanHandy Echo Show? One word: why? It provides no new functionality, IMO.

WOW, wish you could build this for my home, AWESOME!
Thanks!
I have to do a similar project for my new clematis as well
Our trellis could have been bigger. The plant just outgrows anything you give it!
@@handydadtv good to know!
awesome job
Thanks
Nice video, great info!
Buen trabajo!
Gracias ☺️
Looking for the link to the radius calculator?
handydad.tv/radius-calculator
Very Very Nice 👍 and very informative
Thanks
I just subscribe for more Nice videos
Thanks 😊
Using your dimensions, what size are the spacer blocks?
You really need to measure them for yourself based on the size of your frame and the width of your slats.
