Also, there is electric heat tape in the market that you can purchase and wrap your pipes with to prevent freezing or to thaw out.

    I live in Tucson and we love to kayak down the lower Salt River right where you were in this video. In April the Stewart Mountain Dam, just below Sahuaro Lake, is opened up and the river runs for a 12 mile stretch for tubing and kayaking until it is closed off again in October. We see the horses all the time as they come to the river to cool off and eat the aquatic plants. They are humanely managed by the Salt River Wild Horse Management Group, my Amazon Smile charity of choice. That whole area of the state is simply gorgeous. ❤️

    I love wild horses! Living in Carson City, NV when around 20 years old, we had open range beyond our backyard fence and would be visited by wild horses almost every morning.
    Arizona is a beautiful and unique state. Hard to beat the winters! I live in Prescott, and the last 7 days have been sunny skies and calm winds in the mid 60’s. 🙂❤️

  • @DavidHaney1

    especially the ones where you go hiking and camp out in a tent for a day or so, especially since I don't hike anymore myself being 70+ yrs old now. Watching your videos, seeing the trails and experiencing what you experience is such a pleasure, Thank you so much for all the effort & work you do to produce these videos. I've been traveling for a few years in my own DIY camper Van so when you mentioned the cold in winter time, it reminded me what I do. I basically chase the sun all the time, spending most of my time along the pacific coast because I used to surf when I was younger so I favor the ocean, but when it turns cold during the winter months, I end up chasing the warmer climate and usually end up in southern California where its sunny and warmer all the time. I used to live in Arizona and even though its wicked warm, better stated .. hotter than hot, its wicked cold at night since its desert ... so that's another reason why I don't favor going to the desert to swag over into Arizona or New Mexico in the winder months. Southern California is the best for 3 winter months. There's plenty to do, plenty of places to visit for 3 months in all of southern California so after 5 years of roaming around the 11 western states I have come to the conclusion my winter months will always be in southern California.

    • @robertoxyzzz

      Perhaps if she uses PVC as a replacement for the metal pipes will insulate as needed

    • @David-rx2to
      @David-rx2to 2 года назад +3

      Don't know where the pipes are freezing. Is it the fresh water tank or the lines leading to the faucet. Probably the lines. If the freezing occurs inside the cabinets, and you are plugged in and/or have enough electricity/battery, put a trouble light with a clip inside the cabinet. Use an old fashioned incandescent bulb as over 90% of the energy used to light the bulb is used to create heat.

    • @trubdour
      @trubdour 2 года назад

      The pipe protection Mr. Pollocko suggests is called foam pipe insulation. It is a hard styrofoam strip that
      simply slips over the pipe. Any big hardware store(Home Depot) should sell this. It is very inexpensive and very easy to install. There is already a slit down the length of the insulation so you just have to cut the strip to the proper length and then slip it over the exposed pipe. You don't need any special tools to do this. A utility knife or even a kitchen knife could be used. Not sure if this will cover all the susceptible lengths of pipe because you have to have access to the pipe to slip the foam over it but it is a cheap and effective method. Cheers!

    Cat- I stay in a 19 foot trailer for work, and to avoid the frozen water line situation I have a small air compressor to blow the water out of the lines with a blow out fitting that screws into the city water inlet. I do that every freezing night before I leave for my night shift. Only takes a few minutes. Once connected, I open all the taps and blow air in until there is no significant water coming out. You can also use the compressor to put air in your tires, but it runs on AC (plug in) power. By the way, I made your skillet pasta dish, came out great!
