Probably their most underrated song. This legitimately makes me feel like I’m attending my own funeral. I recommend you listen to this while stoned too. Hits completely different.
Song rules hard. Great stoner music. Kirk rules. This song helps me cope with my sisters heroin overdose. There isn’t a day or moment that goes by where she doesn’t occupy my thoughts. Embrace your loved ones. Death happens quickly. -Jeff 😐☘️✌️
Odd Fellows Rest is a really awesome song, and a really interesting cemetary in NOLA. Not in use anymore, it's an old Masonic cemetary at the foot of Canal St. The place is in such disrepair you can literally see bones and skull fragments inside the busted tombs. Song definitely fits the place.
I don`t want this soothing and depressing song to end, it`s a thing you wish could last forever, just explains all my terrible memories..makes me remember who i am, who i grew to be, Kirk`s voice is amazing, his voice alone gives me tears..
Give Exhorder a try, they were the influence of most southern metal bands. Pantera included. Their latest album and first for around 20 odd years " mourn the southern skies" is a banger 🤘
I think (and this a compliment to crowbar) that this song on it's own works perfectly but in the album "odd fellow's rest" it is epic -the song title is "on frozen ground " sabbath and nola forever!
No one else is listed for vocals on this album... just can't believe it's Kirk. So fucking amazing... so incredibly beautiful. Walk with knowledge wisely.
Fucking awesome band! Crowbar was the band that let me know doom metal (that meaning all the subgeners of doom: sludge, stoner, epic,...) Anathema, Crowbar, Pentagram, Tiamat, Cathedral... LETH THERE BE DOOM \,,/
@SpaceOddity101 It is because back in the days, the government did not help in the burial of its citizens, did not offer health care, etc. The Independent Order of Odd Fellows, a fraternal organization founded in England sometime in the 1700 was brought to America in 1819, then built cemeteries, orphanages and home for the elderly around America. You can actually see a lot of cemeteries in America named Odd Fellows or IOOF.
i understand what you're saying, but genres make it more easy to situate the music in time, space or other situations. On the other hand if all music has to be put in boxes then people will always be argueing and bitching about other people's opinion...
this song is so epic... oddly it´s the only track I really like by this group, the other vocals are so very different. Edit: I start to digging their other stuff too, "Sever the Wicked Hand" album goes hard!

Challenge accepted...

You ever seen the back of a twenty dollar bill? You ever seen the back of a twenty dollar bill on weed?
Is that a sniper in the bushes?
I love listening to it while falling asleep.

I've just buried my 2 years old Cat while listening to this. Goodbye my little fellow.
One of my favorite Crowbar songs. Reminiscent of some slower Black Sabbath jams. Trippy and melodic.
Sabbath is a huge inspiration to them

CROWBAR IS SOUTHERN SLUDGE. IT SAYS IT ON THEIR HOODIE.
Mantra 🧘🏾♂️
Kirk CAN sing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SOUNDS AND LOOKS LIKE JAIL BY DOWN
Hell yah! Where do I buy this?
Does Kirk sing this? Because he usually always sounds harsh/gravelly.
Is all the footage shot in New Orleans?
too much depressed...that`s what I like...
What kind of genre is this actually?? I love songs like planet caravan and solitude (black sabbath), jail (down) or space cadet (kyuss)...
thanks, but i've been listening to maiden since i was 14 and i definetly know that song. another classic is No Quarter by Led Zeppelin
are you thinking of remember tomorrow crowbar covered it
check out strange world by maiden
No electricity and is so FUCKIN heavy and metal
@goatshredder It helps me everyday.
Which one? Reeder?
Btw, I guy tripped too hard to press the like button...
Also would this count as funeral doom?
Maybe it’s actually pretty close style wise but it needs to be really really REALLY SLOW to be considered “ Funeral Doom”.
@9ui7ar9uru It definitely is Kirk.
why am I seeing a Deadmau5 advert?

Try the song To Touch the Hand of God by Crowbar...Its another song with similar style by them.
*****
Thank you, I already know this track, it´s awesome.
I actually enjoy over 90% of their work now, Crowbar rocks !
this is the Crowbar form Louisiana?? really?!! this is quite off the track for them! but its fuckin good!! * * * * *
@toxitschni
This isn't really psychadelic tho haha.
I was gonna say stoner-doom-metal too...
