This was one of your best episodes, and I really love everything that you do. I was quite moved and deeply touched by artists with both music and yarn talking about mistakes and improvisation. Ashley was so articulate and such wonderful musician. Sophia shared her deepest feelings about inspiration in knitting and life through her pilgrimage. Erica Knight has so much to share from her long creative life; I especially was inspired by her process of pinning swatches on a dummy to see what works together. Brava!
Thank you for another STUNNING episode Andrea and Madeleine, which once again brought joy to my life and a smile to my face :) The snippet of Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini brought back memories of watching the fountains of water at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas ‘dancing’ to this music with the most perfectly timed choreography. Vielen Dank 👏🏼
Very, very fun episode and I really enjoyed the segment with Ashley Hribar!!! I don't know much about music but I always enjoy the pieces you choose for different parts of your podcasts. In my opinion, you always find the piece that suits perfectly the theme of the video, well after all, music IS your thing, and I always loved your title's music. After all this time, listening to it before your podcast, it gives me a cozy, "at home", feeling since it's connected with something I enjoy a lot watching. Thanks again and looking forward to your new episode 🎹♟🧶
Wow! What an epic episode and the reason why I continue to monetarily support Fruity Knitting as a patron. Thanks so much for this episode which I will watch over and over again. I’m not a classical fan but the piece on music was wonderful. I also never knitted any Erika Knight’s patterns, but I’m a fan now! Her whole history and beliefs on sustainability touched me profoundly. Seeing Sofia was also a wonderful treat. Off to buy some Pebble yarn and some great music and patterns! Thanks again!
I wrote a lot of notes but they disappeared so here's my brief summary of why I love this episode so much. Tell your story with your stitches (Sofia); improvise and have fun (Ashley); don't be afraid to try new stuff (Madeleine); "just have fun!" ( Erika). Thank you so much Andrea for this wonderful shows that bring me such joy and inspiration to develop my personal creativity. HUgs
As Ashley was speaking of opportunities for improvisation through portals, I began thinking of how we knitters have portals in a designer's pattern for "modifications". This is very nicely demonstrated throughout the episode . . . Wow!
Loved the maker segment with Ashley Hribar! I've never heard of the "portals" in classical music composition. I loved hearing the different interpretations of well-known classical pieces. Ashley is such a talented pianist!
What an engaging, gorgeous man Ashley is - thank you so much for that segment, and nice to see the man behind the intro music! I love Sofia and have followed her for many years, so it was a pleasure to watch her and to hear about her trek across Sweden and Norway. Now I think I must buy the hat pattern. A beautiful show, Andrea. X
Oh I loved this episode - what a great idea to include Ashleys piano music and his phantastic introduction to improvisation. Something we do as knitters often as well, introducing our own variations to knitting patterns :-)
You just keep keep putting out better and better episodes! My knitting students and I watched this together. They are both piano students and really enjoyed watching Ashley improvise, as did I. After after this episode we watched some episodes about "Piano Puzzler." My students loved that Erika had yarn and needles in her small back pack. "Of course she had yarn," they said! This was a thoroughly marvelous episode and I am proud to have been a patreon for several years and watched this program become one of the very best knitting programs available. Thank you!
Can your episodes possibly get better and better? YES…. Outstanding pure pleasure from beginning til the end. I LOVED LOVED Ericka Knight. She is such a wonderful person as well as a fabulous artist. I did not know much about her apart from the fact that she had yarn with her name. She taught me so many important things about life and knitting, which are one! I loved your friend Ashley and his wonderful music… his relions spirit! We need more of that. …. And finally your lovely friend Sofia who is just charming and full of wisdom. How lucky you are Andrea to have her in your life. I must say Andrea you are looking great… it is heartwarming. …. And dear Madeleine has a wonderful personality so spontaneous and full of light. It is my pleasure to invite you every month into my home and my knitting world. 💕
The interview with Erica was just too good! I would like to be like her when I grow up :) What a grace and wisdom and generosity... This episode would have been a prefect one for womens day in March as an homage to women. I will watch it multiple times.
amazed at Sophia's walk. I was sometimes worried and then had to say to myself, well, she's there, she's fine, she did it. hehehehe! Erika Knight has been in my life for years and to see her for real is just wonderful. that yarn from the Falklands is just so beautiful. the colours are so gorgeous. I'm a pianist so I adored seeing Ashley's improvisation of the classics I used to play. it was playful, moody, and so full of atmosphere I loved it. Thanks again for a great episode and thanks for explaining about the ads as i was getting quite annoyed with how many there are now when I thought there weren't any ads before. I felt I waited for soooooooooooooooooo long for the episode and now I'm sorry it's over hehehe!
Thank you so much for combining 2 of my favorite art forms - fiber and piano!!!! Ashley Hribar is an incredible find! Thank you for introducing him to me!!! I love your show!
As always, a simply superb episode! Just recently returned to knitting and watching knitting podcasts. During my absence though, I continued to support your work through Patreon as I knew you would continue to have the most excellent content for us makers. I really want to encourage your viewers to support you by being a patron. If I can do it as a retired widow on a single fixed income, surely others can in better situations than myself. Blessings and hugs to you and Madeliene.💞
So interesting to find a Christian from Sweden because I've read that the majority are secular. So good to hear from a fellow Christian especially on a knitting show. I hail from Toronto, Canada.
So fun to see where the opening music came from. Have an even greater appreciation for it now! As always, I look forward to your show and enjoy it every time. Thanks for what you bring to us!
How interesting, I have one of Erica's books and remember her from quite a whole ago :) And another BEST thing was hearing Sophia speaking English!! The music was a total treat. Thank you to all!!
Wow! I loved every single bit of this! It was wonderful to get to hear Sophia's intentions and meaning behind her designs! And how I enjoyed learning about Ashley and his brilliant compositions! Loved both of the quotes he shared! And so similar to Erica Knight's approach as well!! She has been a longtime favorite designer and I have had several of her books over the years. Thank you Andrea for such attention to detail, and a wonderful show! 💖
The music and words of your composer friend were delightful. I usually don't care for clssical things to be messed with but his variations made me feel free. Ashley is a jewel. Your shawl is exquisite. Triple WOW!
Loved Erika, what a beautiful lady and her simple designs. I have knitted for years off and on , so to be able to knit some of the amazing item that you do Andrea, is beyond me. Erikas designs seem more achievable for me to do.
Wow, just wow! This episode was fantastic! So appreciate Sophia sharing her experiences and inspirations. Erica is equally inspiring, and I enjoyed her segment as well. Ashley is just brilliant! What an interesting talent. I never had the visual perspective of watching a concert pianist's fingers fly over the keyboards as I did thanks to your filming. Thank you so much, Andrea and Madeline! I'm honored to be a patron.
What a pleasure, this entire episode. Including music makers- brilliant! And as always, the knitting is shining. Looking forward to more adventures in making with you.
Another stunning episode Oh god I absolutely love the conversation with Erika Knight . She is amazing and differently inspiring⚡️⚡️thank you 🌷 much love from Kuwait

I could listen to him play all day!! Bravo!! Madeline was charming as always and I look forward to those finished chess pieces! And the icing on the cake was Erika with her wisdom and passion! I enjoyed and appreciate every thing she shared!! WELL DONE ANDREA !!!! And, thank you!

Seeing Ashley's fingers performing one of my favourite YT intros had me mesmerized. 🎶 Erika made so many statements that spoke to me. When she talked about the crafter who sees the loose ends and immediately wants to weave them in she was speaking directly to me. lol ☺ Many thanks to your guests for being a part of this lovely episode and to you ladies for curating and delivering it to us. ❤

How lovely to see two beautiful women I admire so much sitting on the same couch! I happen to be a patron of both of you. I also just finished knitting Fettle by Erika Knight. Such a lovely pattern and despite making a mistake with my pocket placement I love the finished project.
A brilliant episode as always! I have been considering making the Shine mittens every since Madeleine made them, and now I'm even more excited. I also loved Ashley Hribar's presentation - fascinating
Hello, Andrea and Madeleine. All of your videos are excellent and I thoroughly enjoy each one🙏 I particularly liked Sophie’s designs, her FOs, and her description of her walking through Sweden to Norway. Andrea, the shawl that you knit is exquisite. Madeleine’s knitted chess board is so cool… I look forward to seeing the knitted men. See you next time❤️❤️👏👏👏👏👏
Wonderful episode! I've learned quite a bit from Erika over the years. As a new knitter, I watched her videos over and over as I learned to knit little slippers for my newborn granddaughter. Thank you!

I have friends that have walked El Camino in Spain, but was unaware of the walk thru Scandinavia in honor of St. Olaf. Thank you for sharing such interesting information. .you have great guests!!
Definitely one of the very best - and I've watched them all from the beginning! I especially love Sofia's gentle faith which shines through her and her designs. And, as musicians, my husband and I loved watching and hearing Ashley. Erika is a stunning designer - as an adopted Canadian, originally from the UK, she is just a delight to me. And of course you ywo are stunning and gorgeous as always. Love you guys!
I absolutely loved this episode Bravo ladies! Three of my favorites in one episode! So nice to see Sophia back in front of the camera and Andrea and Madeleine are lovely as always.Ashley was wonderful as well....nice different touch!
The shawl is fabulous every time I watch this channel I come away with at least 3 new projects to do. This is definitely one of them, the tips are great❤ thanks Andrea
A really great episode: I loved it😊! How great to see the music played, plus getting to know Ashley's music. Speaking of interpretations, I wonder if Ashley knows the fantastic interpretation of his outro piece: 'Bach à la Jazz', by Ben Charest from the film 'Les Triplettes de Belleville'. Makes my heart sing.
I am very touched by Sofia Capelle`s story on her pilgrimage on St Olav´s Leden and the design she develloped out of her inner and outer way. Thank you, Sofia, also for your poem. Last summer I was also on parts of St. Olav´s Leden. I rode together with my Husband from Oslo to Trondheim with our bicyles where we finally visited the Nidarosdom. Then we rode south to Bergen. - For me it was also a way to my knitting roots: 25 km south of Trondheim is the Selbu Spinneri where I bought some yarn. Here my love of knitting began, last summer I could be there in person. - Thank you for an other wounderful fruity-knitting epiosde, Helga
Think this is the 'best' knitting podcast episode 'ever' and that is something given Fruity Knitting's fantastic repertoire to date !! Thankyou both so much for creating, curating and generally 'knitting up' this most entertaining, inspiring and informative of podcasts !!
I loved the music section. I have always been in awe of any musician who are able to improvise live! If I remember correctly, some of the Bach cello suites have specific sections that were noted as places for the musician to add their own flares.
As an artist myself I have gone by the idea that you make your mistakes your style. This was the most inspiring video for me so far! Enjoyed every second and immediately went online to purchase 8 skeins of Pebble Island in the Tussac colourway! Can't wait for it to arrive!
A wonderful episode with three inspiring artists. I appreciated their sharing the philosophy and processes fueling their work. Thank you, Andrea, for presenting such meaningful programming.
This was one of your best episodes, and I really love everything that you do. I was quite moved and deeply touched by artists with both music and yarn talking about mistakes and improvisation. Was für eine wundervolle Episode. Ich hatte Gänsehaut! Vielen Dank für eure Arbeit. Euer Kanal ist eine grosse Bereicherung. Alles Gute für Euch.

Great new segment-Ashley’s musical segment. So interesting.
I loved the musical segment with Ashley. The music is what drew me to your podcast in the beginning.
I really enjoyed this episode! Love the piano playing and insight. I’ve played since I was 5yo.

Here my love of knitting began, last summer I could be there in person. - Thank you for an other wounderful fruity-knitting epiosde, Helga
I'm very moved by Sofia's message. Thank you very much for her appearance on Fruity knitting.
“Thank you for the music”!!!
The sock gussets placed to allow the 'hidden' motif was so ingenious!! You're all three beautiful inside & out.
Those Rowan colors are gorgeous, and in a worsted weight! Oh, so exciting for some beautiful colorwork. Thanks for sharing this with us.
You ask the best questions, Andrea. Just what we would all want to know from Erika Knight. Thank you.
Fantastic episode! Love Ashey's piano performance, your works in progress or completion and the designs of Sophia and Erica. Well done!
A wonderful episode with three inspiring artists. I appreciated their sharing the philosophy and processes fueling their work. Thank you, Andrea, for presenting such meaningful programming.
Loved this episode Andrea. I’m really enjoying the variety and diversity of your guests. Loving Madeline’s inclusion and knitting too. Thanks heaps.
Wow Ashley was amazing! It brought tears to my eyes. Love this episode
