- As promised, we're back with another episode of Stray Recon. This time, you'll get to meet a very lucky dog, Ashi. I received a call from a guy named Mike who had spotted this husky roaming the desert with what looked to be a bad leg. With the high temperatures on the way, I knew I had to move fast to save this dog. The catch turned into an overnight process but was ultimately worth the wait. Ashi would never have made it with her injury in the summer heat. This is why I do what I do. Thanks for watching. - Brandon McMillan

thank you , not for making me cry every time you say good bye to a spesial dog, but for doing it again and again... even if it makes your heart cry. you save dogs, keep them , love them, and by giving them a home breaks your heart ,, your job are not for everybody

The goodbye was heartbreaking as she kissed her new Daddy goodbye to start a new life. She trusted Brandon so quickly. That unconditional love is priceless.
That part made me tear up big time. The goodbye has to be so very hard. Even though he's obviously taking her to a great home with Tracy.
To see that poor, injured, scared dog smile when she reached the ranch, lick Brandon's face...I cried the last 5 minutes. Ashi is special, just as special as you Brandon. Idk how you let them go...

I wish I had a dog like ashi because she showed so much sweetness unfortunately I can't have one until we move to California I lost my dog two months ago on father's day and he was my baby I didn't think I would want another pet but watching your RUclips vids made me feel like it's time.

Our Butch came from a kill shelter in another state, and he naroowly avoided being put down at that shelter where mistakes were made.Ultimately, after team work and twists of fate he came to us at 5.5 yrs old and made us the happiest pet parents for the remaininng 10+ years of his life. So grateful to the rescue efforts of so many, including you Mr. Brandon McMillan and the team of so many brave and courageous folks saving lives.

Really made me cry 😢.... ur such an AMAZING person to do the work that you do. ❤ She is such a sweet dog & thank God for angels 😇like u out here advocating for these wonderful animals!! My neighborhood is full of strays (especially cats).... in Ohio we can have harsh winters. A couple of us rally together for life's beautiful helpless creatures.....all of them have been fixed & we make sure any new guys are taken care of right away. It breaks my heart to see animals in need.....& we all need to find ways to make sure no new ones are born into such conditions. Right as winter was coming my daughter was able to find two sweet babies & get them. 💕They made their way to forever homes through rescuers we found. No way these sweet babies would have survived this bitter cold. Much love to u and keep up ur wonderful mission in life!!!!!
So glad to find you again Brandon since you left Lucky Dog. My son is an animal trainer for entertainment. He falls in love with his dogs and either they end up with him, or he finds them good homes. Crying my eyes out! Ashi reminds me of my second rescue Husky Nikki, and even looks like her! Nikki was abused and dumped at a shelter, deemed stupid and untrainable by the people who abused her. I adopted her at 10 months old and she lived the best life she could ever have for 13 years. Jax and I still miss her every day. 🐺❤️😔🍑

Brandon, you are truly my hero! I am in awwwwe of the way you just walk in and pull out the saddest, most broken underdogs and rehabilitate them finding them the happiest forever homes imaginable.
You and I share this passion for finding the broken, unwanted, and forgotten to seek out and save. I’m guessing that is why I became a nurse. I just wanted to say I love your new show; you’re a beautiful person and I so wish there were many many more people in this world like you (and I) thank you.
This one brought tears to my eyes. I know you have to let them go and I know they're going to great people, but with dogs like her you can't help but feel like it has to be so hard after all she went through and then bonded with you only to be moved again. But I get that this sentiment is coming from a human and a dog's capacity to love (and forgive) is amazing. I know because I have Pit Bulls.
Husky's are so awesome! Have 2 of my own Husky's and wouldn't trade them for anything. This dog was lucky to have someone like Brandon to catch her and show her that not all humans are bad. Thanks for the great work you do Brandon!

I have had the privilege to travel the world too and it breaks my heart to see so many stray dogs My heart grieves for them actually. I loved this episode. My daughter had a rescue husky who looked like her and she recently passed away. She was also a gentle dog. So glad you found a good home for her.
I just don’t understand how a dog likes this ends up in the desert. If they are dumped, why would someone dump such a good dog and why the desert?

They just keep getting better and better! This is my favorite one yet! Ashi is such a sweet dog and I am glad she was saved. I see dogs roaming my Rialto neighborhood daily; two of my four dogs came in from the street and the other two are from the pound. Thank you for spreading the word and rescuing pups.

Oh Ashi you stole Brandon's heart! Those high desert areas are killer for a stray. Not only having to hunt for food and water, but there are other more deadly creatures to worry about! Rattlesnakes, scorpions and coyotes to name a few. Her messed up leg would have limited her ability to run or fight. Another wonderful episode Brandon! What can I say, there’s always one person in every crowd that hates animals 🤷♂️
What they do for the dogs is priceless. They will never forget the dogs. I cannot understand how an animal can be abandoned. It was clear to me when the puppies came to us that I have the same responsibility for them as for my children
This made me tear up.
To whoever left her and the other dog. Where there's one there's more out there. I pray that they develop a consciousness about dumping dogs. That can't undo this action, but they can confess it to God and pay it forward in doing deeds. A better choice than being exposed and fined or imprisoned. Ashi is a beautiful name for a unique Husky Girl.
Hopefully her dessert mate was located and saved also because there are so many perils to threaten survival.

We did for a few days, but no sightings.
Oh my goodness, I'm crying like a baby! Happy tears that is. I live here in the desert, Hesperia and this is unfortunately very common, people dumping dogs and cat's. We have a TNR program here, I've trapped 12 cat's, some of which were adoptable.
