I watch this every week and I cry Everytime he gives the dog to the new owners and has to say goodbye to the dog he spent weeks with training,it’s really emotional.
i adopted my black lab from a shelter 2 years ago. he was 10yrs old when i got him. Poor thing was all sad but when I adopted him, it was like he was a puppy and ran around so much in the dog park, as if he was free. I still have him, and I have never regretted getting him. He is the most sweetest loving dog I have ever met and I am proud to be his owner!
As a huge cat lover and a huger fan of Jackson Galaxy, I watched Lucky Dog S1-2 from my local cable TV (in Asia) and I was addicted immediately. First I love the heart of the show : *Brandon's MISSION to help those hopeless dogs find their LIFE PURPOSE.* The way Brandon handled all dogs is profoundly touching, heartwarming and inspirational. (The same quality I found on watching Mr. Galaxy) You will know why dogs behave this and that and how to correct them kindly. The show is not only full of knowledge but HOPE and COMPASSION. Now I just realized the show was an Emmy Win. As a no.1 fan, I felt very very very proud for the whole team of Lucky Dog.
I plan to get a dog this summer, Ellen. Not a puppy, but an older dog that someone dumped. I use to work at a shelter, and the amount of older dogs in there is heartbreaking.
My husband and I adopted our first dog in 2010 and we decided to get an adult dog from a local rescue and she is the best dog in the world. We ended up rescuing another the next year! I wouldn't trade them for any amount of purebred puppies in the world.
I love this guy! I wish I could do what he does. My dream is to work and rehabilitate animals, big and small. This guy is a true inspiration. Also why I love you Ellen!
I wish Brandon reminded the viewers that sharks are not horrible creatures, neither are crocodiles nor Orcas, they're just hunters like other hunters in the Animal Kingdom, but they are huge and prey on big things, nothing personal. I hope Brandon remind viewers on his future exotic wild life that we are suppose to protect all animals and learn to coexist. All religious book say so, if not for good religious beliefs at least for maintaining the eco system running for our equivalent benefits. But don't get me wrong, I love Brandon and Ellen of course.
Brandon is very concerned about the sharks and the wholesale slaughter for their fins, however, the 5 minutes on Ellen's show provided him little time to go into depth.
twas brillig You are right, but it is his first appearance on The Ellen Show; knowing his reputation and number of followers he should have chosen smartly few key words to break the bad impression and taboo about sharks e.g. " I love sharks and I fight against shark wholesale..." Five seconds in a video of 5 minutes could have publically reinforced his concern. The whole world watches Ellen today. I am not American and I not a US citizen. I'm certain Ellen is watched by almost a billion people all over the world. Sorry to say that his interview did not reflect well on sharks.
My mother with Alzheimer’s watches your show everyday on repeat and she remembers your name every day and when I ask her .. / God bless all you do for the shelter Dogs 🐕
I would love to work with this guy, it's so inspirational the work he does. I would love to just help out at the shelter and what not, it's too bad in my country there aren't any shelters or anything of the sort. :/
We love Lucky Dog and its mission. Shelter dogs are amazing and we appreciate a show that proves this time after time. Providing that better quality of life for all dogs is our mission too and Brandon is definitely one of the best examples of people doing their part to make that happen! Thank you so much for what you do. You are a constant source of inspiration to us.
every dog that I have had has been adopted. I am very Pro rescue. when you get a dog from a breeder and pay thousands of dollars all you are doing is inspiring them to breed more.
@@infinitejest441 Thank you for saying that! I don't feel like a hero I just feel lucky to have such a great family dog. We just adopted and spayed two kittens too.
I love your accent on dogs Ellen... You are a great champion for animal companions... And you own or partly own HALO... I was using some of their products before you ever became you got involved with HALO. I watch Brandon every week because my dog is a shelter dog, I'm not sure if I rescued her or if she rescued me (us - our 13 1/2 y.o Dalmatian had died). That said to me "get another dog to love" and we adopted our puppygirl (now 13 y.o.) and we saved her and left her cage free to rescue another dog as well! Thank you for all you do.
Love Ellen since her sitcom...Ellen does a lot for our country..I'm a military vet... Love Ellen and porche.. would love to meet you'll....USA is the best...so is Ellen****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is what I want to do when I'm older; take dogs from shelters and train them to be service dogs or get them into good homes. I hope I'm like him some day :)
This is why it is MEGA IMPORTANT to spay and neuter your pets AND that one must know that taking care of pets is the same as taking care of children. They require vaccinations, food, water, vet visits and lots and lots and lots of love.
i dont think he uses the same training techniques as cesar, but they both do train rescue dogs...and they are famous for it. there are many dog trainers that are doing this more and more, but they are not on Ellen...nor famous
dinh I know him personally, he is super humble, down to earth kind hearted soul, is NOT shallow, and dedicated to this cause. Can't be bothered with this type of drama.
Can we talk about the real reason why people don't go to shelters... It's because they use dogs as an item of status, a consumer product to show off. Who would want an uncool shelter dog while you can have a super in new super hot breed that's so trendy right now, right? Let's be real people...
That made no sense. How do shelters use dogs to show off? You must have been to some terrible shelters. And with the right amount of research, you can find that "hot breed" in a shelter.
***** totally missed my point, I was referring to people who never consider going to shelters cause they're to cool to have a rescued pet and spend lots on fancy new breeds they use as trendy accesories
Something about this guy I just don't like. And I wish Ellen would take a stand against the exploitation of wild animals by the entertainment industry.
The attitudes have changed about circus animals. He started training because his parents did when animals were big in the circus. Now that they arent, he trains animals for movies but he doesnt train them to do things that are unnatural. He uses their natural behaviors and takes advantage of that, rewarding them for jumping, climbing, etc and integrating that into the training. Thus the animals enjoy training because it's positive reinforcement for behaviors that arent dangerous for them. What's unethical is the unnatural tricks of jumping through fire, keeping tigers and elephants chained up in cages without natural stimulation. What Brandon does is rewarding animals for what they do correctly, while giving them a choice to do the correct behavior not just forcing them. Hes very genuine and wrote a book about his training. I wrote him on his website about my passion for animals and he actually responded. It made my entire life that he took time out of his busy life to respond to me. He does his own social media and what not and the way he talked in the email I knew it was him. Anyway, if you know enough about brandon, youd know what a genuine trainer and person he is
I watch this every week and I cry Everytime he gives the dog to the new owners and has to say goodbye to the dog he spent weeks with training,it’s really emotional.
Thank you so much Brandon for saving those dogs:)

What a great human being!!
Thanks for showcasing him, Ellen!
Its amazing what hes doing on his show. I wish there were more people committed to such a cause.
We LOVE Brandon!! God bless him! We need more people like him on this Earth!

Brandon McMillan is a great guy and a great animal trainer
Brandon you are my hero. I want to be a vet but a animal trainer seems to handle a broader variety of animals :)
Or you can be both! hehe :)
I love this guy! I wish I could do what he does. My dream is to work and rehabilitate animals, big and small. This guy is a true inspiration. Also why I love you Ellen!
Do it!! Good luck :)
Its never to late to follow your dreams. Good luck to you.🌈
What a great show to start my Saturday mornings. He's a Taurus from NJ too!

brandon is such an amazing man
Wish there r more ppl like Ellen and this guy who respect and help animals instead of those who abuse or value them as things, but not lives :'(
Great work
This guy is amazing!
This guy is my hero.
Simply WOOOOOW
174 wow I love the support of the military dogs too!!
He really feels for this... Im kinda inspired
I love Brandon 🥰❤
WOW, now that's a huge shark!!! LOVE IT!

Ok, now I’m instantly in love 😍
Patron saint of rescue dogs😇
I rescued a yorkie dog its nine months old and a boy with no collar or chip
I love dogs too 🐶. God bless him 🙏😇💛

and dogs dont ask for phones and stuff lol
LOL! very true!
They also require discipline and lots of it. Discipline is love too.
I love what Ellen does with her show!
He can train me any time.
Amazing profession!
New Zealand what up!!
Best host of Lucky Dog!
That's amazing
My cousin and my late grandfather's nickname is Auggie! :)
Wow, Portia is sooo lovely
So hes kind of like another cesar millan?
i dont think he uses the same training techniques as cesar, but they both do train rescue dogs...and they are famous for it. there are many dog trainers that are doing this more and more, but they are not on Ellen...nor famous
I used to be on Ellen’s team but Brandon is my exception lol
Yes. Many pet stores host adoption days. So if you are looking for a sweet and loyal companion,
That's so amazing
He's an astonishing *fount* of information, not *font*.
Do yourself a favor and dictionary.com font.... #3.
Actually fount and font are both correct.
Thanks for the correction!
will he take a big smile and hug for payment. I need him! LOL
I just watched that on tv
He seems really fake but he probably isn't. I don't know just something. He's probably a great person.
I think its partially the fact that hes on tv.... its part of his persona.
He's not a fake, watch his show "Lucky Dog" on ABC on Saturdays. He has a huge heart.
Sarah Herbert I know what you mean. But I think he knows he's hot, which is why he's on TV and not doing this on his own away from the cameras.
dinh I know him personally, he is super humble, down to earth kind hearted soul, is NOT shallow, and dedicated to this cause. Can't be bothered with this type of drama.
twas brillig Well that's all we can hope for but really, you can't trust what looks so good on TV.
Get Cesar Millan on the show!
question: what does that heart with eyes mean? I feel that I already seen that in another place
Is he single? he's handsome!
I hope he is single
I think he’s married! But keeps his life very private!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
That... is a big ass shark...
hi
He sounds and kind of looks like Chris Pratt!😳😄🐕🐩🐶

I wonder if Brandon is available for adoption.
Mans best friend! Dog = God.
NEW ZEALAND
i wanted to rescue a dog, but my parents wouldn't let me lol
Gwood
You call this guy and not Cesar Millan?!?! Lol Interesting.
So cute scared of shiny surfaces lool ❤️
he look like he haven't had a bath in a week
poor dogs :(
Shit, i thought where i live is safe LOL
It's great that he rescues dogs, yes, but using wild animals like tigers for entertainment is just wrong and can't be justified in any way!
Can we talk about the real reason why people don't go to shelters...

NZ yay lol
What about the cats ;-;. Everyone hates cats ;-;
Something about this guy I just don't like. And I wish Ellen would take a stand against the exploitation of wild animals by the entertainment industry.
I don't understand what you don't like....
i actually agree with you, there's just something off about him
I got a weird feeling as soon as he talked about why he switched to dogs. Just did not feel like a genuine response. Especially at 03:11 ...
