I remember many times sitting in the cafeteria, gym, or classroom by myself because I was too shy to approach people. I believe this is a great idea and all schools should implement a program like this. This could also help with the bullying issue and dismantling some cliques.
i moved every 2 years, sometimes less than 2, growing up. i usually managed to make friends rather quickly but sometimes it was a struggle. i was alone a lot. this is a great program. kudos to this kid and the members that go out of their way to say hi to other kids
I wish I could go back in time to grade school and high school and sit with all the people who ate alone. This is such a wonderful story that can make a huge impact on someone.
My high school had about 1.5k students and I started to eat alone in my senior year as my I rarely saw my friends and I actually enjoyed it since I could reflect on my life as I was approaching the beginning to adulthood. It's all really about perspective but nevertheless kudos to this man. Not all heroes wear capes.
To the heck with the football scholarship. becoming friends and making friends is more important. kudos to him and the way his parents raised him kudos to the whole club for that matter I wish all schools were like this
Great story about this project which seems to suggest that it's not OK to leave anyone behind. That's a value that should never become outdated or irrelevant. (9/1/2021). Thanks to all the students who chose to care. Thanks to Steve Hartman for all these stories.
Thats good for kids that need it....Thank goodness that i didnt have to deal with it....I loved and enjoyed eating alone at school...But hey thats me....
Now more than any other time frame, this unifying outreach is more important. Difficult as this lonely lost feeling was (is) to experience, it has become more prevalent. We're more divided, even amongst adults. Children aged, nor adults need to care enough to come together, end division.
I hate the lunch the most because I have sat alone for 2 and a half years. Nobody ever sat with me and I just couldn't handle sitting in the cafeteria anymore seeing all these people sitting with their friends and having fun. I have been sitting behind a flight of stairs just watching stuff on my phone for all that time. Still do it and it hurts.
We are together, brother. I'm the same way, I've gotten used to it but it still sucks, I wish I could fix my social anxiety and autism it's not fun to Have.
I always dreaded going to the lunch room in HS...…...I had been left back in 8th grade due to my mom making that happen...when I got to HS the few friends that I had wanted nothing to do with an idiot who got left behind.....freshman year always sat alone for every meal....next year went to private school and things improved a little every year there....its horrible to be that young and feel worthless.... I want to start this at my school bc I know how it feels to be left alone and I don’t want anyone else to feel that way bc it really does hurt and we could be the change like change everything yea ppl are going to be rude but I know we are better than that I know we can change the drama the gossip I love this concept so much
What an awesome thing to get started. And to continue doing it after he has graduated. I wonder how many kids might avoid drugs or even suicide just because someone took the time to befriend them?
Props to this young man and kudos to his folks for raising such an exceptional human being. He will change the world.
PoppyCA All it takes is just one.
The rest will follow.
Best story ever.
Every school should be doing this.

This is great. Now if they could also do this for Seniors, Retiree's, and those who are shut in.

I was touched by this idea.

I wish I was still in high school so I could participate in this. Absolutely amazing.

This is a positive human interest story with a happy ending.

✋ hi, i was that kid. I *always* welcomed the new kids and befriended the lonely or "weird" ones. This young man is doing great things 👍💕
I was an introverted kid. I LIKED eating alone while reading a book. I had the whole rest of the day to be around others.
How sweet. We live in a beautiful world all the negativity is worth it because from that stems the most beautiful moments in our life ❤️
In Jesus' name, Amen🙏🏽
BRILLIANT!! They should implement this in every school.
I agree. Socializing helps to keep their academic capabilities up.
Beautiful. Hope & pray it continues
Outstanding young man
Men, he wasn't a student. He was a teacher. 🤘
YES!!!
Awesome! May God Bless you and your beautiful soul young man!
So proud of these kids..speechless

This kid is amazing. & wonderful idea
What incredible people they are! Good job guys and gals!
I sent this video to the high school and middle school in my area. I hope they will start one here.. this is great!
We need to be like this guy. The typical hs student is sadly a far cry from him, we need to be like him
I wish all people were like this... 😩
Those students are the hope that i still have for humanity.
What an inspiration!!!

@@Bongbongo I have autism too. It's hard but I'm used to it.
I preferred to eat alone in high school. I can't stand it when I'm reading a book or listening to music and people interrupt my personal time.
There's another group called No One Eats Alone
How about if you WANT to want to eat alone?
