Hello, I'm 25 years old and today I tried MAF heart rate trainning for the first time after seeing multiple videos on youtube about that type of trainning. People normal reaction when they try to do MAF trainning is that they need to slow down substantially in order to maintain heart rate on their "sweet spot". Or my watch isnt that precise when it comes to monitoring heart rate? I have a garmin forerruner 245. I'm doing my first cicle to the marathon so I dont want to try much new stuff, but I was just curious.

@@rokrudman3081 exactly. I just wanna share how other runnners think about it in the west to many runners in Korea cuz some of them say carbon shoes can replace all other shoes.
@@yankaitan8648 i totally agree with you. It's just that some running youtuber back in Korea only promotes carbon shoes saying that it can replace all other shoes.
Two ways to look at it: (1) other than daily trainer, all the other categories of shoes are kind of optional at some level (2) depending on how you use your Superblast, you may already have a recovery run specific shoe in your rotation
This is off topic but I don’t know how else to ask. Do you have any recommendations on singlets? I am looking for a brand that’s a little tighter around the neck area if that makes sense. I have tried some asic ones but I have to buy large to fit right but they drop down too much in the front.
I know the price point will be contentious but 300 dollars for a 100 mile shoe is a bit much. I could maybe get around it if it was a true marathon racer but this thing looks like it can’t go the distance. The aesthetics are off the chart though.
A very strange marketing flop by On to verbalize durability. Why mention it when you dont need to? This immediately limits expectations that consumers have for the shoe and even if runners won't use it for 4 marathons, you've set limitations. Seems like a fun shoe tho
Yeah I dunno about this. For $10 I can get a prime x strung at full price and probably run that thing over in my car and still be able to run in it, or any other race shoe out and have money left over. Plus it's not even a full 40mm. Not for me but if people love it then that's cool
Is it a coincidence that this shoe seems to work by having less of the trademark “cloud” drilled holes midsole effect? Sorry I just never bought into that gimmicky technology that they were trying to sell when they first came out and thought it was just a marketing scheme.🤷♂️
Hi, love your videos, but 250 oder even 300 are no reasonable prices! We can see them at sale, when a fe Vaporfly comes down to 150 euro. These are the real prices. And then ON wants you to pay 300 for a 160km shoe? Come on! At the time now adidas is selling the Takumi Sen 9 for 120 euro, thats fair.
the brilliant thing about Nike pricing is that, during off times, they drop the price to older Vaporly colors. but when it comes near major marathon times, it tends to get difficult to find a vaporfly 2 at that much of a discount (at least as far as I've observed. I don't keep super close tabs on what Nike does in terms of pricing)
Why not even a mention of the Vaporfly? Isn't that still a king of the hill type of shoe? I would have liked to have seen something... anything.... more quantitative. Barring an actual PB in a marathon, maybe like comparing your average and max heart rate for the same intervals in the two shoes. $290 is a lot of coin to drop on "Swiss styling." There damned well better be PRIZE MONEY!
A very sizable number of runners cannot wear the Vaporfly because of the narrow last and arch bump. It is no longer the single shoe to which all must be compared. Even the pros aren’t nearly all racing in it anymore with all the many super shoe options out there.
Get ready. If this thing sells, expect the other manufacturers to follow suit. Maybe not $290 but I'm guessing the next round of super shoes will start at $275. 🤦🏻♂️
I agree that it's expensive. but I suppose the value of miles per dollar is different depending on what kind of miles it delivers. if a shoe could help you get to just one marathon PR, would $290 be worth it? perhaps. perhaps not.
Let's see who can sell the most expensive shoe for the least amount of miles...let's throw them all in the landfill when we're done with them and then buy more. Let's base weights and useability on skinny bois with smaller feet and no body mass, so actual wear will vary dramatically. Sounds like a great business plan for everyone.
I agree that it costs a lot. but two quick points. 1. the vaporfly didn't always give us as many miles as it did (and I prefer the ride of the vaporfly from back when it didn't last so long). 2. what if the vaporfly doesn't work for you? doesn't matter how durable it is if you hate it.
I want what ON is smoking. This is not even remotely close to competitive price range to what other brands are offering and they are well established proven brands and you know what you are actually getting in return. No need to sugarcoat this. This is terrible value shoe even for race day only.
@garethevans2499 Have you tried the Cloudsurfer, which has the same newer general midsole design? It truly feels soft and cloud like, more so than any previous On shoe.

Can't afford it just here to see how it looks like :D
nothing wrong with a little window shopping
Why not even a mention of the Vaporfly? Isn't that still a king of the hill type of shoe? I would have liked to have seen something... anything.... more quantitative. Barring an actual PB in a marathon, maybe like comparing your average and max heart rate for the same intervals in the two shoes. $290 is a lot of coin to drop on "Swiss styling." There damned well better be PRIZE MONEY!
I generally find quantitive shoe review data to be "quantitative" at best, giving but the illusion of objective repeatability
A very sizable number of runners cannot wear the Vaporfly because of the narrow last and arch bump. It is no longer the single shoe to which all must be compared. Even the pros aren’t nearly all racing in it anymore with all the many super shoe options out there.
Too much money for too little durability and what you are getting. I would rather get the Mizunos. Cheaper and will almost certainly last MUCH longer.
Looks like a Lacoste shoe 🐊
I'd rock a Lacoste
Get ready. If this thing sells, expect the other manufacturers to follow suit. Maybe not $290 but I'm guessing the next round of super shoes will start at $275. 🤦🏻♂️
if you keep saying it enough, you may eventually be right.
(but see Speedland PDX, Prime X, Endorphin Elite)
First
Yo!
Thats crazy I would never pay that much you only 120 miles put of it.
I agree that it's expensive. but I suppose the value of miles per dollar is different depending on what kind of miles it delivers. if a shoe could help you get to just one marathon PR, would $290 be worth it? perhaps. perhaps not.
This is ridiculous - $290 for 104 miles/168k!? I hope this is a joke or they will drop the price, introduce a training companion etc very soon!
I think Brooks wins with the Hyperion Elite 1. Original anticipated lifespan: 25 miles.
$270 for a shoe that can only go 4 marathons??? Even the vaporfly lasts longer wtf
So over a dollar a mile? sheesh.
Unless they discount their shoes, I will not buy On
I want what ON is smoking. This is not even remotely close to competitive price range to what other brands are offering and they are well established proven brands and you know what you are actually getting in return.
No need to sugarcoat this. This is terrible value shoe even for race day only.
Could be due to living in the gloomy, rainy UK, but: those aren't clouds any more
Some clouds are bigger than others
@garethevans2499 Have you tried the Cloudsurfer, which has the same newer general midsole design? It truly feels soft and cloud like, more so than any previous On shoe.
