I found myself tend to go a bit faster than planned when wearing Superblast2. After watching your initial review, I decided to take Hyper hoping to utilize the "mushy" forefoot. And I simply love them for my easy runs! Hyper and SB2 are my perfect duals for almost everything. Thank you for the great review!
Just rounded 100k on these. They’ve really grown on me as a heavy runner they are currently my goto shoe for easy and longer runs. For any speed work I’ll reach for something else.
Also experienced the issue with laces untying. Love the shoe for mid-tempo runs but got gifted them so that helps. Kofuzi is on point with his criticisms here
Fantastic training shoes!!! The most versatile of my On Cloudmonsters. And the insane laces!!!!!! They have a life of their own hahaha I double tie but they still come off!!! Switch to easy laces immediately and spare yourself the frustration!
I'm liking my ON Cloud Monster Hyper so far, but I prefer the SuperBlast 2. The upper is easy to clean , I love that material, and the grip is amazing for raining days. The bounce is good and very stable for long runs but it is below the Invincible 3 or SuperBlast 2. My only dislike with the Hyper is the squeaky sound that the middlesole sometimes makes, and do all the time when it is wet. This kind of noise is worst in On shoes with the newer phase middlesole by the way.
I went to get the limited version because they just looked so cool. Every step I took with that shoe I felt the race foam in the forefoot would just stick to the ground without any energy return. I decided not to get them. But I regret it. They were just the coolest looking sneakers for walking around and showing off.
I totally agree...ON cloudeclipse is a fantastic shoe...I had the novablast 4 just before this one , but the outsole so huge made me feel like having bricks on my feet. I hated the cloud monster but the cloudeclipse is the perfection for long runs and also pick up the pace...the only thing that bothers me is the squeaky sound but at least people hear me coming... for my intervals or tempo ...which one would you recommend me ? mach 6 Hoka? on cloud flow 4 or else? thank you
How would you compare these with the Mizuno Neo Vista? To me that's become kind of the benchmark for the max-stack super trainer. I did order the Hyper as well, but haven't received them yet
I see the word "Hyperion" and I get shin splints just thinking about it. But I keep hearing HM2 is the best Hyperion Brooks has ever made. So I _am_ somewhat tempted to try it.
@@laalaa99stlHyperion max 2 is a step in the right direction for brooks in general, but I thought that the max 2 was a little firm and that it probably is too thick to be that firm
If you want something that is similar to a Skyward X or Triumph 22, then yes. If not, I think the decision algorithm starts with, do I want something that is more like a carbon plated racer or something that is more like a fast max cushion shoe
For the buying guide, you *recommended* three shoes that, according to you, aren't really recommendable. You don't seem overly enthusiastic about the On, the Hoka or the Saucony. So, what is a shoe in this class, for this use case, that knocks it out of the park? Are there any?
I got mines and actually like them but for they are a bit on the heavy side for me and the price is far to high for what it is. But at the same time I do enjoy the hell out the shoe they are so dam comfortable and well balanced I do love my slow runs in them.
I have the Cloudsurfer and it squeaks like crazy, really annoying. Such an expensive shoe and can't even use it as a casual shoe now that I'm about to retire it. Last On shoe for me until they fix this.
Your mileage will literally vary depending on gait, surface, frequency, and temperatures. I usually anticipate about 275-300 miles in any daily trainer shoe. I feel like these would last more than average for me
My daughter sent me a pic from Chicago’s expo this year. And they are using a pic of my son from when we all ran in ‘22, but I think they used his picture cuz they thought it was you 😂😂😂
You’re going to explain the physics of that, and how that would be different in terms of a hole versus a foam. Like are the compression/decompression timings per se different?
Not my type of shoe so I shouldn't be commenting. But I will anyway. 😁I don't understand the squeak complaints. I'm always listening to my tunes 🤷♀. I would never ever complain about laces being too long. You can shorten long laces. You can't lengthen short laces. I do hope other brands experiment with adding a nicer foam for the forefoot. I think MS4 is the only other shoe doing that right now? Still rockin' my (two pairs of) Cloudsurfer 7's!

I tie the laces regular and tuck them under the cross lacing running up the tongue. Works like a charm

i was decided to get my hypers tomorrow then this video comes out!!!!
Really like your honesty with price comparisons, and it is okay to buy a previous version at a lower cost if it is still available.
Thank you Mike.

nice editing. as always.

4:18 185lbs and just over 6’ and I have returned two pairs of ons I really liked bc of squeak issues!
Be carefull..😆dogs like squeaky shoes🐕 with sounds..😅🤣😂🤣

Show off to who. Most ppl who love on are rich geriatrics and finance bro tools. Pairs well with finance bro vests….
I just don’t think I’ll get On with these shoes
Slow clap 👏

I’m 145lbs and I have a distinctive annoying squeak in my Eclipse shoes. Other than that, they’ve been one of my favorite walking shoes.
I got one first day then I rubbed through the holes with a cloth and it went away

I don’t know what super trainer means
I'm gonna sound like a broken record but... just Superblast and forget it. You could actually _save_ $20 going that route!
Hyperion Max 2 is so much better than the Superblast's.

You know shyte is about to get real when Ko goes bare chested 😆💪

IDK Kofam That Grey color on the Saucony is hottness
Does Puma MagMax shares similarities with this shoes?
They’re in the same class. But they are targeted to different sets of preferences
Adidas made a better On Cloud shoe, the Switch Fwd 2. I think you will enjoy them they are lighter and more responsive than version 1
How do you this this would fare vs more v5?
I haven’t tested More v5 yet
Hi. Cloudmonster Hyper= At 🇪🇸 Spain= €220= No for me. Like to Kofuzi. Cheers.

Goodwin Shoal
I don’t know why they didn’t continue the Pebax all they way through the heel
Way too expensive-this nails ON shoes
I speculate that they wanted more stability in the heel
My daughter sent me a pic from Chicago’s expo this year. And they are using a pic of my son from when we all ran in ‘22, but I think they used his picture cuz they thought it was you 😂😂😂
Hahaha!
Shoulda got this instead of the cloudeclipse sludge shoe this is the real successor to Cloudmonster 1 but sooo pricey
let's be real, the massive holes makes the midsole less responsive. The microseconds until you squash the holes down ruin the ride

Bingo!...on the shoelaces. Can be annoying. Why I wouldn't race them. Not a race shoe but still...
I thought I was the only one
I lost interest on getting ON shoes. They are too expensive and hard to get. They are literally on clouds and too high to reach.
Yo, what’s going on!!
Yo Luis!
Definitely avoid Saucony, 10 years ago they lowered the heel and it was the worst running I had.
I don't know about you, but I'm not paying that kind of money for a shoe that is just Blah
100 miles should be nothing. 400 gets interesting.
I eagerly await your video
not interested at all for ON. horrible quality, just hyped and not good for feet
ON shoes are absolutely hideous and seem so lackluster compared to other shoe manufacturers
I find they have an industrial tool like design and use them all year round lol the uppers are amazing and you dont have to squeeze your foot in
I generally really love On designs, especially apparel. The experience doesn’t always match the aesthetic for me though.
On shoes look like legos. They’re gimmicky. Superblast 2 all day
On, for the boomers and hipsters 😂
