Right on! Jesus Saves 🙏 I haven’t heard of it put that way, but it is so important to visualize chords as your solo. And sneak them into your playing. Thanks brother 😎
You’re welcome, Jim! I’m glad the lesson was helpful. And yes, God is great! Thanks so much for staying to the end of the video. Talk to you soon buddy.🙏
The Major Scale is king! I've been playing for about 20 years and it's the main scale I use. All modes and other scales are a 1 to 2 note difference. In most styles of Christian music you can accurately improvise your way through. You can build chords from understanding the scale degrees. When you get into gospel or jazz understanding harmonic function is much more necessary, but even with those the major scale can help you understand extentions in chords.
God was good to me to let me find this video Rusty! I enjoyed this very much and just need to practice these concepts. Very well done brother! Thank you!
Another small light bulb just turned on! (Knowing where the root of the chord is and knowing/playing the major/minor scale around it). Thanks Rusty. You are a great teacher!
Thanks for this Chanel. I have been watching your other channel for a while. I have been playing and singing at my church for about 5 years now. Started in the sound room. One thing that really help me was learning the CAGED system. It allowed me to see the chord shapes better and connect the scale to the chord.
Good to see you here at my worship guitar channel. The CAGED system is a great way to visualize a fretboard for sure. I really believe the better you visualize a fretboard the better guitar player you will be. I appreciate the comment Scott. Have a great rest of your week.🙏

Thank you so very very much Rusty, I always learn something more from you every time I watch. I really like the the non bar cords blended with some simple lead notes, wonderful for soft background music. The Lord made music and guitars for us to worship Him....Thanks so much, God Bless you.

I’ve learned a ton from your other channel in the past year year and a half. This will be tremendous help to me. I really would love to start playing in my church. They use professional gear do video and have a lot of locations so I just know it would be a great opportunity, and just a total departure from what I used to play music for

I shied away from electric guitar because of the rock star tag. But after becoming worship leader at our church I realised the potential and finally invested. A whole new world opened up and I've been enjoying it for about 6-7 years, learning about pentatonic scales, triads, modes etc., but never seen this connection. Thanks.
Thank you, Rusty, for this engaging and informative tutorial on electric guitar theory in worship music. It was truly eye-catching and insightful! Your breakdown of chords, scales, and fretboard visualization will undoubtedly help many guitarists enhance their skills in church settings.
Really great lesson Mr Rusty. I love what you are doing. Because some people perceive Christian musicians to be repetitive and not intentional with creativity development. There is definitely lots that can and is gained for investing in music theory. A lot more opportunities open up for a person too, when they invest in expanding this aspect of musicianship 🛐

I understand the point of this video; what we played in a bar on a Saturday night may not be acceptable in church on Sunday morning, and I understand that. Just leave the distortion and the overdrive pedals at home and don't bend your notes too much. Good video!
The vocals are the most important thing in a church service. So the Guitar will add color around that. But I definitely use overdrive pedals often in the church service. Thanks a lot for checking out the video. Catch you later.🙏
Hi Rusty, thank you for making these tutorials. I am a very younger musician, however sometimes I feel that our church music sounds so similar, however with bands like Peter do you think there is an element to incorporate 70s and 80s stuff in church music. Like those leads and solos
We can’t help but take our influences into the worship team environment. But I think modern worship guitar players are different from the classic rock guitar players. The church electric guitar player uses a lot more melody and wet guitar effects to create a very unique sound. I’m probably somewhere in between. But I like a lot of different types of music for sure! Thanks so much for checking out my video. Blessings.🙏
