What the hell is fashion for if the life is sucked out of haute couture?! The first look of the show says it all: this is classic VALENTINO. If you can only see the Michele elements, then you don’t know what Valentino stands for or you’re just determined to treat Michele as an unwelcome presence. Overall music, ambience was eerily beautiful, and the clothes were a mixture of the exquisite and the wearable. I personally loved all the time and effort worked into the beautiful embroideries, especially the waist bands. Can’t wait to see these works in the realway!!!

It’s really great to see Alessandro Michele back with his mastery. His bohemienne/retro style mixed with the Valentino details is a gorgeous combo. Plus Florence Welch was a dream in that outfit, straight out of a Romantic painting ❤️
people are mad cause they were expecting jeans, white tank top with the V logo, basic sneakers , the same basic wool coats, hoodies! nope this is fashion with alessandro i mean he did add some denim jeans so you can be happy about it!

After looking at this collection for the third time, I can appreciate the new direction. It's hard to adjust to change. We have adorn Pierpaolo and what he brought to the house. We're comparing this to another artist's vision. I can respect that Alessandro stayed true to who he is as an artist. For me, like all his collections, you got hits and misses. Beautiful opening number.

Great show with a very intriguing setting. There was a good variety from jeans & blazers to formal wear to artistic & edgy! Bravo! Also loved many of the bags and shoes.😍💖
Valentino's elegance, class, and sophistication have gone down the toilet. The long-awaited collection transformed into a flea market in the seventies. Valentino and Giancarlo Giammetti must be in deep depression now. The setting was like ghosts at a funeral.
just wow! what a presentation. simply gorgeous clothes and super intriguing jewelry. I really loved the chunky bracelets and the lip jewelry, curious to learn how exactly that works (do I need piercings for those mouth pieces??) loved this so much and oh yes that GREEN dress...GASP!
I agree with others this smells like Gucci. BUT I feel we need to give Alessandro a chance to settle in. He needed to completely distinguish himself from Piccioli and display his distinct point of view which he did successfully. He wove in the spirit of Valentino with the softness, femininity, and details such as beading (in contrast to Gucci - androgynous, isolated bold colors, structured cuts). Hope this screams more Valentino next season. Editing the accessories would make a HUGE difference in making this less Gucci (remove the nose rings, mouth piercings, pearl necklaces on men, turbans, etc. and you're left with beautiful clothes).

Not surprised. This collection doesn't feel Valentino nor Gucci, although the costumer base moved in; reads Alessandro to me. Why he just don't launch his own line? Will be very successful and the houses will keep their identity
It actually very much gave me Gucci. It had the slink, the accessories kink, and that orient express international vibe of most of his Gucci Collections. Valentino is a much more "hard in the softest way possible" cleanliness than the 70s Hipsters on Parade vibe of Gucci.
It’s like saying to KL ‘why couldn’t he launch his own line?’… The collection has a delicate reference to the whole history of the house, Garavani style himself, Pier Paolo, Maria Grazia, cinema history, etc. Not surprised with these comments tho.

I am sure I have seen many similarities with previous Gucci Cruise runway, expecially 2019 in Arles and 2020 in Rome, I loved this one, but I am even more convinced about the fact the designer should give life to his own brand, instead of keeping "micheleising" all other iconic brands.
