This is one of the best interviews I’ve heard on BOF. No matter how “successful” one is it’s always a good idea to ground oneself in one’s own true self, values and purpose. Egos can get very big thanks to success and then comes the burn out. The rise and then the fall. Better to be a slow burn and endure the tides of fashion and any other business or artistic practice. Thank you for reminding me of what is important and what is possible. ❤
One of the best interviews I've ever watched about fashion and I love how peaceful and friendly he is. The way he described life and success also good to know and think about it
Love Allesandro 🏆 Completely blew Gucci out the water, The biggest and best upgrades to a fashion house I have ever seen, Very exciting to see him back and what he will do with Valentino
Thank you for bringing Alessandro, this conversation reflects a lot of what he brought to Gucci and fully reflects how his spirituality has helped him growth. So excited to see what he will bring to Valentino. Love the conversation 🫶🏽
Gucci fell apart after their disastrous decision to change designers. Alessandro is a creative GENIUS. Valentino is fortunate to have this creative alchemist!!! He is a fashion god! ☀️💫☀️
This is the best and the most resulted therapy session to remain no matter what, you still have to listen to yourself, stay true to your values and yes, life is about things and living it is process of life.thank you for a podcast , it brought me joy and confidence even despite war and loss.
Gucci’s origins were leather goods so its fashion was open to interpretation! Valentino however is an established fashion brand with a history! It’ll be interesting to see what he does!
@@bluepavilion82 Kering (the owner of Gucci) has a 30% stake in the Valentino maison since 2023 (Michele was kicked out of Gucci in 2022), with the contractual option to acquire the rest of the brand by 2028. Life is a ⭕.
Actually very hood that hi changed a fashion house, he had two years of rest. Now hi have new unspiration and new way....And we are happy that hi is back to fadhion🙏to inspire us and create beauty❤❤❤❤
Gucci firing Alessandro was the biggest mistake! The magic that captivated the Gucci customer during 2015-2022 is now gone. I cannot tell you how many managers, employees and their families, who dedicated themselves to the Gucci brand have been fired or left. All that is left are impossible targets with soulless products being produced by Sabato de Sarno’s stubborn attempt at quiet luxury!
He talks a good talk and easily sways everyone. Hes not a designer anymore. Hes a merchandiser who just pumps out the same ideas and looks every season and alway has to explain a story that makes people think his stuff is deeper than it really is. I think his work is gorgeous, wearable and desirable but as a designer he doesn’t push himself to explore new facets of his aesthetic and try new techniques.
No one but Valentino himself could ever surpass the elegant collections produced by Pier Paolo Piccioli. Under his creative leadership, Valentino's net value soared to over $1.3B. His clothing was the epitome of modern luxury. When you design for an established brand, you must be respective of its legacy as well as its customer base. Michele is a talented designer who needs his own label so that he can pursue his eclectic design vision. He is not a good fit for Valentino, nor was he a good fit for Gucci. His clothing is too extreme for either brand. While his collections may have energized younger consumers, they didn't have the income level to be repeat customers, which is critical for a multi-billion-dollar industry. Piccioli is now ready to take the creative helm at Fendi, which will relieve Kim Jones of designing for two different labels.
Every creative director puts their mark on a brand, some more than others, and Alessandro Michele definitely falls into the category of "some more than others" but I don't think it's fair to say that he's not respective of the design codes of the brands he works for. He studies their history and archives in depth and then adds his playful touch to it. Whether you like that or not, is another story. At Gucci he created several designs that reinvented old Gucci classics from the 50s 60s and 70s. I wasn't a fan when he started at Gucci, but became amazed about how he managed to do everything from "crazy to classic". On top of that many creations were based on history, philosophy and art, which to me is where you take a brand to another level. I liked Valentino when Pier Paolo Piccioli was there, it was simple and elegant, but Valentino under Michele will have both the crazy and the classic Valentino, and to me that's very interesting. It's true that the revenue of Valentino soared to over 1.3B under his creative leadership, but if you want to talk numbers, you also have to mention those of Alessandro Michele at Gucci. Under his creative leadership, the revenue went from 3.9B to 9,7B, one of the all time biggest increases in the history of fashion. So I'm pretty sure Gucci's stockholders wouldn't agree with you that "nor was he a good fit for Gucci". 😊
I'm retired at 27, went from Grass to Grace. This video here reminds me of my transformation from a nobody to good home, honest wife, $35k biweekly and a good daughter full of love 🤍🤍
I raised 75k and Christina Ann Tucker is to be thanked. I got my self my dream car 🚗 just last weekend, My journey with her started after my best friend came back from New York and saw me suffering in dept then told me about her and how to change my life through her. Christina A. Tucker is the kind of person one needs in his or her life! I got a home, a good wife, and a beautiful daughter. Note!:: this is not a promotion but me trying to make a point that no matter what happens, always have faith and keep living!!
After I raised up to 325k trading with her I bought a new House and a car here in the states 🇺🇸🇺🇸 also paid for my son's surgery (Oscar). Glory to GOD. shalom..
i love him, what a gift to the world. whatever designer house he goes to, i'll follow bc his designs are magic to me.

The interviewer doesn’t understand that talented/gifted people don’t care about the “success”.. I admire Alessandro’s patience with this guy.

you're Chinese right? If logo are only what you're after, you're not born to be a fashion girl babe, Maybe LV has a seat for you.
@@Hitme-up1is What does her nationality have to do with it? She is right tho. Sabato's Gucci is just a Prada clone. It has lost all its identity.

Nick park needs to animate this with a rat and a wombat…still sat on the gilt chairs.

Social media is a double edged sword..
Seems there was a plan to take out Pierpaolo from Valentino, with all the things and friendship Alessandro has with Jacopo.

The future
He eventually has been a disaster for Gucci. Insiders have told me he left a total mess behind.
He does and Gucci staffs hate him much :))
I'm sure the numerous seasons of record profits were very hard for them to bear.

couldnt agree more. Its a disastrous choice for such an iconic fashion house and this guy should simply do his own thing under his own label
