Can't you just design a different board for each possiblity(xbox left, xbox right, ps left, ps right), that way it would be much easier to install them, but i don't know anything about pcb design so i don't know how hard this would be to do

Circuit noise and adjustment difficulties are problems that can occur in direct installation. If you don't need a joystick, you don't need a drive plate.
Is there a way to keep the haptic feedback in the left grip, would it interfere if a small wire was soldered to the pads that show just under your pcb so that the actuator could still function.

@@junZeng-520 my brother has these flex pcbs (the ones where you can adjust the x and y axis for the case your stick should start drifting)...do these also work? If yes, i could use these.
@@BaamAlex those are not really a replacement for these PCBs. If you are installing it on a PS4 controller, I believe there is software available to program the calibration of the new sticks on to the controller (similar to how Sony calibrates them at the factory). You will still have the jitter which this PCB filters out. If you are using a PS5 or Xbox controller, then you need this PCB to get the best performance out of the new sticks. Without it there is often jitter and an outer deadzone, because the controller's board is expecting slightly different information than the hall effect stick outputs.
@@vinny3139 Nice! Can You post some photo of the installation? Do the original IC + tiny resistors next to it soldered on the pcb of the original DS edge stick module, interfeere with the mod's pcb? No need to shim the mod's pcb?
@@MarkV92 It going to sit a little bit above the solder points so itll need a little extra solder becuase there is a chip that sit under the edge module. you will need a dremmel to shave the plastic inside
We are in the 21st century, why invent expensive calibration boards for analogs? Calibration programs are already available, we just need a good programmer who could improve these programs

why put silicone insulation on the center contact? Previously, it was possible to simply solder the board directly to all contacts

I install it on a PS5 controller tested it and calibrated. Then I charge my controller after using it, now it wont turn on anymore 😢.

It is for... insulation? I made the same mistake and didn't use it. You can't calibrate the sticks when you don't use it.

what temperature do you use for soldering and for desoldering?
The soldering iron temperature I use is 300 degrees Celsius, and the hot air blow welding I use is 350 degrees Celsius. Solder used with 63% Sn 37 Pb。

If you work with the original potentiometer, you can only solve the problem of correction, not the problem of drift.

@@OmairArif nvm. I found a video. You can calibrate the sticks without these little Mainboards. It's a bit finicky, but it's doable.

the pcb isn't needed for ps4 my guy, look for ds4 tools you can use it to calibrate them.
