Thank you. I am blessed by your message. I think it is very important for couples.
I do find it strange though that you bash the "purity culture." It's one thing to say that it doesn't explain enough, but another thing to bash it. I've seen this trend in several blogs about marriage.
The central message of the purity culture is very biblical, and that is to save yourselves sexually for marriage. Could it have been explained better? Most certainly. Things can always be improved. Were there misinterpretations in the purity culture? Without a doubt, as would happen with any teaching/movement.
But it's much better to have a purity culture than to have a promiscuous culture. Whatever mistakes people make because of the purity culture, pale in comparison to the mistakes people make in the promiscuous culture.
Anyway, this is not to take anything away from your awesome explanations. God bless.

Hi Tenrin, thx for commenting. Sorry if it seemed 'bashy' on our part. We definitely agree that abstinence is the biblical (and best) way to approach sex and marriage-and it's *certainly* better than promiscuity. I think most of the pushback we've seen against purity culture has to do with the thought that if you wait until marriage, you will have a problem-free marriage and a perfect sex life. In some cases that message was intentional, in others, it was accidental. Of course, we know otherwise... you can seek God in every aspect of your engaged and married lives, but that doesn't guarantee a problem-free marriage! As long as couples understand and anticipate this, then look to Jesus in the middle of their struggles, there is much marital health to be had. Again, thx for your comment and encouraging words! :)
