  • Natural State Brass Band, with Tommy Reynolds as soloist, has fun performing "Solo Secondo" on October 11, 2009, at St. James United Methodist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. For Arkansas fans, listen carefully for a surprise near the end!
    The Natural State Brass Band is the 2011 North American Brass Band Association Second Section and the 2009 Challenge Section champions. The band is comprised of approximately 35 amateur musicians from across Arkansas.

    I haven't played this for years, but it is still a great entertaining piece. William Himes shows he has a Salvation Army background, coupled with a great sense of humour. Of course, he at least shows his appreciation for the principal 2nd horn. This is a rarity in brass banding. Thanks for posting and my enjoying it in Nw Zealand. Bluey Caldwell.

    Isn't this the arrangement from Bandmaster William Himes..??....If it is .I remember playing this in a Salvation Army Brass band....played Euphonium......Now that I hear the whole thing I know it.is....haha...We did this at our College...the Salvation Army Student Fellowship Band at Asbury College.....It's alot of fun...thank you for sharing it again..!!
