Grantaire serves as the comic relief here, being the drunkard character. Joly is a student who is dissatisfied with King Louis-Philippe, embodying the ideas of changing lives. Jean Prouvaire is another student who dropped out of school in order to fight in the June Rebellion. He is the youngest, next to Gavroche, at only sixteen years old. L'Aigle, who appears later, is a Bonapartist who merely wishes to see the monarchy overthrown. Leglas is the oldest, and he is not even a student. He is a workman who is unhappy with being paid miniscule wages. Gavroche is easily the youngest, at nine years old. He is a carefree spirited street child who gives his own subtle point of view on the Revolution when he makes fun of Voltaire and Jean-Jacques Rousseau in his song, which sadly had that wit taken out when it was converted into "Little People." Marius... well, this song tells everything you need to know about him. He is loyal to the Friends of the ABC, but he is too distracted by love.

I love how Enjorlas says "Don't let the wine go to your brains" and then seconds later Grantaire is offering Marius a glass of wine.
Right after he drank from a bottle while staring into E's eyes, daring him to say more xD
I thought Grantaire was trying to chat up those girls in the corner.

His nihilism and unhealthy coping mechanisms xD But othewise yeah, he's got a great potential, even though it's wasted because of the circumstances

Enjolras is a lover of liberty; he never had an interest in women.
