Pierre could you make it easier for Canadian born people to get into trades? There are many able people who would want to join the trades but cannot because they can't afford to so instead our current government uses our money to pay for programs to import workers instead of investing in Canadians who could pick up a trade, build businesses and pass knowledge on to their family and communities.
Latest stat I saw was for every 5 trades people that are retiring, only 2 people are starting apprenticeships. Extrapolate that out over the next 3 decades and it looks horrific.
27 years ago a visit to Squamish for my friends 50th Birthday was a high light . He was the Mill manager at the time of this Pulp mill. He would be happy to see the sight is being restored back to nature and going to be LNG PORT . GOOD LUCK TO THE SQUAMISH PEOPLE!

Good for them! The jurisdiction that I retired from created such a mess to obtain a simple building permit. A SCP (single construction permit) prior to 2015 would normally take not more than 4 weeks to be issued. Now the timeline for the same permit is seven months. I heard horror stories about Vancouver from architects, engineers and contractors who were amazed how quickly we issued commercial permits and conducted inspections, but again that was prior to 2015.

I was hired by the supplier of the gas for this plant in 2012 because this plant was going to be built. I waited 6 years and gave up when the NDP was elected and said the were going to review the project again. This project was first started in 2008 and hit nothing but road blocks and endless reviews. The site it is going into was a pulp mill from the turn of the last century built in 1905. That site and the Howe Sound were heavily contaminated with mercury and other chemicals from the early pulp process. To give you an idea of how bad things are in Canada for these projects Chevron proposed a LNG plant for Western Australia in 2013 that was bigger and it was on line in 2016 and shipping LNG to the world. Canada is missing the boat with the delays that this present government has been forcing companies to bear. Not any world companies want to invest money in Canada anymore. Pierre is the right choice.
Nothing succeeds like success and every Canadian needs the opportunity to be a success without a Micro Managing Government getting involved, Justin's only talent is to make life more difficult and give us more regulation and Taxes. We need more of this can do attitude and less of the denial of reality which with we sent the Premiers of Germany, Japan and Greece away shaking their heads.
The many First Nations peoples are very resourceful & kind people. I wish more Whites like me would read all the books they can written by First Nations to learn who & what they are about. The Haida are awesome guardians for nature, all our relations - as is said at the end of every prayer! I’ve worked beside the Gitxsan, east of Smithers Wet’suwet’en, Lake-Babine Carrier Nation, NnuChahNulth Nations! That was a real education & cultural immersion that taught me these people often have bigger hearts & act to show caring & compassion!

A SCP (single construction permit) prior to 2015 would normally take not more than 4 weeks to be issued. Now the timeline for the same permit is seven months. I heard horror stories about Vancouver from architects, engineers and contractors who were amazed how quickly we issued commercial permits and conducted inspections, but again that was prior to 2015.

We are all Treaty People, in Canada. Perhaps this distinction, is enough to minimize Multinationals and foriegn Countries from owning more Canadian Land and Resources. Made In Canada, should mean something in the World today... under 2% global carbon pollution.
Lots of the consumer goods made in China, India, Vietnam, etc are made by large multinational corporations for the North American and European consumer. Capitalists use those countries for the cheap labour - BUT the bulk of the products are for OUR consumption. We are complicit and more.

What he said about not being able to get jobs in "white" industry, reminds of the '90's in Hamilton when I couldn't get a part time job while all my white friends all did. (Some even, questioned if I was lazy and didn't want a job.) A Hamilton Spectator investigative article came out not long after stating that it was six(!) times harder for visible minorities in Hamilton to get a job in Hamilton than white people. Just sayin'.

Too bad Poillevre did not do his homework on this one. The modules for that plant are all made in china just like they were all made in china for the Kitimat project. For the average BC resident all we get is the bill when the industrial accidents happen. This LNG could have been a great thing for everyone like they did in Newfoundland and Norway but here the special interest groups have made it all about themselves instead.
Who cares where the modules are constructed? It's about employment for Canadians to sell our resources worldwide instead of importing them.

Canada emits less than 2% of global GHG, so helping other nations wean themselves off coal (especially your friends in China) is beneficial. There is a strong business case for LNG no matter what PM Wackeau believes, on the west coast and on the east coast. The Squamish Nation should benefit as a “special interest group.” Why not?

I was hired by the supplier of the gas for this plant in 2012 because this plant was going to be built. I waited 6 years and gave up when the NDP was elected and said the were going to review the project again. This project was first started in 2008 and hit nothing but road blocks and endless reviews. The site it is going into was a pulp mill from the turn of the last century built in 1905. That site and the Howe Sound were heavily contaminated with mercury and other chemicals from the early pulp process. To give you an idea of how bad things are in Canada for these projects Chevron proposed a LNG plant for Western Australia in 2013 that was bigger and it was on line in 2016 and shipping LNG to the world. Canada is missing the boat with the delays that this present government has been forcing companies to bear. Not any world companies want to invest money in Canada anymore. Pierre is the right choice.

The many First Nations peoples are very resourceful & kind people. I wish more Whites like me would read all the books they can written by First Nations to learn who & what they are about. The Haida are awesome guardians for nature, all our relations - as is said at the end of every prayer! I’ve worked beside the Gitxsan, east of Smithers Wet’suwet’en, Lake-Babine Carrier Nation, NnuChahNulth Nations! That was a real education & cultural immersion that taught me these people often have bigger hearts & act to show caring & compassion!
