And, whenever someone like you, speaks, without trying it, you, embarrassed, yourself. This works in the same way, a water cooling system for a pc work. Though, I if you want to see, true results, I'd recommend, build a mini fridge, with the ability, to only cool water. This way, we're taking the water from, the cool fridge, passing through a pump, then finally. Repeating the very process. Thus, the water never gets to heat up back. Sigh, but what do I know, I'm simply a scientist. Not one that judge without giving it, the good old, college try.

Peltiers are not used in PCs. They dont work. The issue is the focused heat the cpu out puts. No one has come up with a way to disperse it efficiently, or properly transfer the heat from cpu properly. That and the amount of energy it would take to make it viable is not worth it, when you compare just a normal water block system in a pc that works just equally as good at 1/3 the energy consumption.

This would actually heat the room unless you pipe the water into a different room. It would be better to pipe the water to another heat exchanger with a fan on it also. AKA heat pump. You have to pump the heat somewhere else. With the water in the same room the heat removed at the CPU cooler is placed in the water which dissipates into the same air. Due to efficiency losses and energy added by the electrical system to run the pump and the fans, the overall system has a net heat gain so if it's all in a single room it's actually a heater.

  • @geweldigfeest1127
    @geweldigfeest1127 4 года назад +3

You're heating the water more than you are cooling the air, so you've basically made a very powerhungry, inefficient heater.
You need a heat exhaust; if you'd make a closed loop where the water travels outside of the room, through a radiator with fans and then back into the cooler, that would work and cool the room. Although the power supply would also generate a lot of heat, so you probably want that in another space as well.

  • @hazimreitz

I tried cooling water to a huge radiator and use like 6 of those peltier units (Like electroboom's setup) and it kinda cools the room and it's right next to me... Just 1 is not enough and the power draw is too much just to work properly. Not judging this guy's work... It's the peltier units that are generally not efficient and I like seeing DIY stuff so kudos to him for sharing his videos.

With a lot of effort and abysmal craftmanship you move a tiny amount of heat out of the air one feet over to a watertank, which then radiates it back into the same air. The consumed electrical power for the peltier element etc is also radiated into the room. So the room gets warmer...heating can be done easier.

To all of the people in the comments critizicing this machine, saying that "it only works for 30 minutes then the water becomes hot and stops working... "
Have you guys ever heard of the law of preservation of energy?
If you had you would know that evaporation causes cooling down effect.
Therefore water will not remain warm in this setting for too long, it would start to evaporate as soon as the temperature of the water rises above the temperature of the air around it, but bacause the water vapor has no way to go, it would cool down condensate and fall back down.

Don't see how this works as an air conditioner... yes, it may cool down a room, but not for a long long time... You should've put the thermistor in the room rather than in front of the fan. Only the temperature expelled by the fan would chill the thermistor, not the room... this definitely needs a redo but with the thermistor in the room itself. Commercially available air conditioners dont run on Peltier modules... let alone one, they use refrigerant and radiators which achieves an effective cooling solution, one peltier module would barely effect the temperature of the room, and is not powerful enough to keep up with the heating capacity of the sun or the environment par se and heat will increase quicker than this machine can cool. this could work with sufficient radiators and cooling solutions, like using a fridge and putting a coil of tubing for water to run through then this ran through common computer radiators with fans pushing air through them. Could even work for a single 120mm radiator and about 3000mm of PVC tubing, that may be a good build lmao.

Excess heat is being generated and dumped right back in the room. One of the most important and basic principles of why air conditioners cool is it takes the heat from inside your house and dumps it outside your house. If, as with this device the heat is just being dumped right back in your room and even increase it will create a vicious heating cycle.

"did it slowly fall down" or did he move it closer to the base slowly to achieve such temps. YOU BE THE JUDGE I don't think the temps are right. im having doubts about this.

So, those tubes do not work in your setup, it is just copper transfering some heat slowly. The way they work is a liquid with low boiling point evaporates in them as they get warm and condenses at the cold side. Just reverse polarity in the element so heatsink will work as a heatsink, and push cold water through the computer liquid radiator so it will work great now just like a real one

I guess this is a swamp cooler and not an actual air conditioner. There are lots of cheap ones for sale big enough for a ca,per van certainly. I'd like to see someone make a combo fridge and air conditioner for van life.

I am asking my self the same question but i just think that if it summer and it is hot that means there is sun and if there is sun you can install at your window a mini sun panel generator and then add a battery and here you are you just create a mini sun panel system

the temperature measurement display was measuring only the very near area not the actual room
so you tried to trick people into thinking they will get the same temperature in the whole room
if you sincere enough you would measure it at least where you standing / sitting

I wonder if something similar could be used but have the water travel underground to cool off. Just to avoid using refrigerant, because eventually they will leak and get into nature.

The idea of an air conditioner is to move the heat out of the room, you are basically accumulating the heat inside a bucket with water, so when the water gets hot RIP air conditioner... Maybe putting ice in the water will help keep it cool, but you have to add ice once an hour so is not worth it because you need a fridge heating up the room to make the ice... That's why 100% in-room air conditioner without some way of moving the heat outside the room is not worth it.

The peltier will at best make as much cold as it produces heat, assuming this gets rid of 100% of the heat which it won't, along with the pump making more heat you end up producing much more heat then u get rid of

I don't know about how strong it is, but in order for it to work over time, you'd have to replace the water regularly

Kairi Kazekage - no, the water in the jar will heat up = you would have to regularly empty it (risk air bubbles/lock in circuit) and if you didn’t ⚠️ steam will leak out of the jar/explode/jar or pipe connections will melt/cpu will burn out ☹️
