I approached George with a couple of items I knew he could sell in Washington state. He offered me a very fair price, which I took, and told me if he sold them for more, we would split the difference. This I declined as I just wanted the items to go to someone who would appreciate them. He is such a great guy.
I have some items like that, George. I ended up giving away my mother's American Brilliant punchbowl because I had no way of selling it. I have some items that absolutely would sell great in Florida - I was planning on moving there - but now it seems we are going to North Carolina. I know nothing about North Carolina.
I had no idea Southern Pacific had china. My Dad worked for them for years. It really is a lovely pattern too. The gold shell murano piece was lovely as well. Great video George! I am so behind on all my video watching! ✌🏼
Yes! I'm putting a piece on the next eBay flight, in fact. I'm very behind on things as well, including your appraisal request, I'm trying hard to catch up!
I love the Fenton glass. My Grandma used to work for the glass company in Ohio back in the 50's-60's and we used to have all kinds of it around the house. Thank you for sharing and you have a great day
The plastic jewelry is great. I imagine it mirrors the lucite craze. I remember making rings out of telephone wire when I was a kid and I’m drawn to the wire jewelry as well.
Good evening, George! I like those silver spoons. Mom has a collection of silver souvenir spoons...they are all quite black now, though. Mom would really like that framed ribbon lady. That Markin brooch reminded me of some of the scenes from "The Blair Witch Project" 😂 You showed a lot of interesting items, and the Fenton was beautiful! Thanks!
Hello my friend! I really love early World's Fair items, when opulence and treasure were sought. The ribbon ladies are awfully sweet, let me know if I should put her aside. Blair Witch, lol! I think it is that era. Thanks for watching me unpack!
Hi George, I have been enjoying your videos, your plethora of knowledge is amazing! Missed you when you came to Marshall Michigan. Hope you come back and I’m able to see you. Thanks for educating us in this community.
You are so right about paying for items from friends! I find also that there are times I have given pieces to certain dealer friends because it wouldn't sell for me- people don't expect jewelry or high end glass, so it sits in my case or booth. I specialize in ephemera and prints and collectible buttons.
That's a good thing to realize, sometimes you just need to focus on your thing and let other people have what their customers want! I sell a lot of categories, but I sell a fair amount to dealers when I can because they might know someone who'll pay more but they're paying me now
i love the first find farm scene rolling pin what an incredible find! why leave that tall blue bleako all alone? ( i know ) i know thank you for the constant delivery of knowledge as you are actually coming across it and thanks for showing the gorgeous selections jocelyn had too .. essential for our knowledge and such eye candy ! I feel there was good costume jewelry at that giant bldg. where you got the sarape blanket .. there must have been signed stuff .. grab a loop and indulge us next time please!!!
I have the same TV Markin brutalist brooch, with red rhinestones, though it comes in different colors. I was surprised to see a dealer at the Portland expo pricing it at well over 100.
I found a small silver spoon with bent loop handle..I thought it was a heroinatics spoon, but maybe it was a baby spoon. I also found a 1545 Silver Mexico City 1 real..metal detecting here in Port Tobacco. The 1 real was actually the very first silver coin I ever found with my metal detector. It is the oldest coin minted in North America!!!
Re jewelry, does the term "Vermeil" apply to any marked silver that has gold coloring, even tho it may not be marked GF or GP? Another great video, George. I appreciate your sharing of so much information.
Hi, Pauline! We really appreciate the support. We actually copy and paste what RUclips sends us, so you may have to do the correction from your end, but we're going to try from our end and see if they'll let us edit it.
Hey George, What on earth happened to your right eye and cheekbone, you look like you have been in a bar fight or walked into an opening door. You're my favorite appraiser and I just can't have you living life on the edge!
I missed hearing what happened to your eye. I saw you on The Nurse Flipper, but I guess I missed hearing. Safe Travels to you George and Xeno. Good luck this weekend with your sale! I so wish I was a little closer, because I would be there if I could. More just to meet you and give you a big hug❤️
George was probably running around & ran into something.. I'm always bumping myself & having unusual bruises, no idea why.. it happens when you get old... skin gets thinner, harder to heal, not much you can do it's too close to the eye..LAXVESPA-LOSANGELES... fortunately it has not impaired cognitive knowledge abilities...
yeah it's never about people that own the guns, it's about the people that's around them that get ahold of the guns it's all about mental illness unfortunately

A good jeweler can use the clip back to turn a pair of earrings into French backs - which are the most secure type of pierced earrings.

Those pins were great!

Hi George...would the Sarah Coventry pin or pendant (not sure if it was a brooch or pendant) be signed?
Also when are you in Mount Dora?
