However to return the car to a different country form where it was initially rented must be confirm with the rental company as these are two different countries.

Otherwise you can pretty much rent from any rental agency and just ask them for the orange card to be able to enter Oman 🇴🇲. Hope this can help!
I was planning to travel to Salalah for 10 days to visit my brother in law next month along with my wife and two sons, I am resident here UAE, by profession I am security manager, my family is sponsored by me, I am planning to travel in my own car which is owned by me and I have travel insurance (orange card) for it for oman, Kindly advise if my profession security manager falls in approved professions? do I need to apply online visa if yes which catagory I will select for me and and my family. Or can I get visa at the border entry point,

Yes you can..just Please check with rental company if the car has insurance coverage in Oman and and Orange card. Hope that helps ,😊
