- Oman is a beautiful country not known by most but after spending over a week there, let us tell you that it is truly worth visiting.
Our day started at the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, home to the second largest chandelier in the whole world. The mosque itself is one of the most interesting building I have ever seen. Keep in mind that dressing modestly is required to visit this holy place.
From Muscat centre, we drove an hour and a half to one of the most stunning place in Oman, Wadi Ash Shad. After a 45-minute hike through beautiful landscape and crystal blue water bodies, we made it to the main event, a beautiful natural pool and a secret waterfall located inside a cave. Absolutely breath taking if you ask us!
We highly suggest that you visit this place early in the morning to avoid the harsh sun and warm weather of the afternoon like we experienced.
Back on the road for a short drive along the coast to Bimmah sinkhole. This place is also very impressive and you realistically only need 15 minutes there unless you are planning on swimming of enjoying the space.
From there, we have to rush back to Muscat, change quickly at our hotel and drive to the marine for a private sunset cruise in the Muttrah area of Muscat. Even if the sun was not on our side for that sunset cruise, it was such a fun experience and a great way to see Muscat from a different angle.

This is brave. I would never be in such a deserted cave with water and without a local professional guide. And if then am not sure I would be exploring that cave.
It was a quite common spot so we did feel safe to do so

How has neither of you lost your sunglasses? I literally have to teather my regular glasses to my neck because once I put the down somewhere my brain does that men in black memory eraser and I'll only remember them when I need them. I lost so many sunglasses I stopped buying them but you guys have had the same pairs in the mara, at ol pejeta, Mauritius, India, Dubai, Oman... that's hella impressive.

I hope you enjoyed tourism in my country, Oman. The best time to visit the Gulf countries in general is from late November to early March. The temperature is cooler than other months of the year
We had the best time to be honest! The Omani hospitality is world-class and we cannot wait to visit again. Next time we hope to do an overlanding trip.
@@DaveMani actually, it is much better to rent a car at the airport. You can visit almost every location in Oman without a guide except "Al sharqia sands" where you need an expert to drive between the dunes

So the walk takes about 30-45 minutes maybe and then just a couple minutes of actual swimming to reach the cave. Make sure to bring tons of water to drink!!!

Its very complicated for Oman and you need to have a business to even request a permit. Everything you read only is true and its takes several months.

Hey, we're planning to do a trip to Oman in a couple of weeks with my boyfriend, did you guys need a permit for your drone?
Its actually quite complicated. They only issue permits to companies and the process is quite in depth. All the info is online but i'm telling you right now, it is not worth it if you only do it for fun.
Your date of the Mosque opening is incorrect. This Mosque has been open since 2001... We have been praying in it for many years now. The Sultan Qaboos Mosque in Sohar opened in 2016. In contaray, all mosques closed in 2020 due to COVID. Friday prayers resumed to vacinnated worshippers in Sep 2021.
Not sure what to tell you. I simply repeated what our guide from the mosque told us...
As been said, the mosque has been open since 2001. It took around 5 years to build it. The other thing, the chandelier was the biggest ever, till it was overtaken by one in UAE, not Qatar as you have mentioned. Same for the handmade one piece carpet, it was the largest. But, now maybe the second.

If you can wear more covering clothes when swimming in Oman, it will be better, because there are laws that prevent swimming in this clothing. I appreciate you visiting my country and wish you a nice day and have a wonderful time.

For anyone watching who's thinking of visiting Oman, have some common sense and wear more appropriate clothing than these two... I'm not an Omani, nor a Muslim but some proper research will show you that what they are wearing is quite inappropriate. Wear swimming shorts and shirt for both man and woman would be more respectful to local customs. Make sure not to give future travellers a bad name 😉
I don't understand your point and I don't feel like we were inappropriate. Tracey was wearing a one piece instead of a bikini and as a man, I was wearing the same as the other guys around.
