The hardest thing with thrifting a collected look for our homes is having the discipline to wait to find just the right items to bring home. I think cultivating that discipline is good for us😊
You are right, it is hard to pass something up when it is beautiful or unique. I have to keep telling myself “just because I like it and it’s a good price doesn’t mean that I have to buy it” 🤪
Thank you. I don't want to slip into being dissatisfied with what I have, just enjoy the process of cultivating further. We have so very much to be thankful for!!
I agree 100%. Those words of wisdom caused me to subscribe on my first visit to your channel. I am a retired interior designer, and love the two stools that you found. When in school, back in the 1970s, we cut our mats using a metal straight edge, as your husband suggested. If you cut mats often, then you might want to invest in a handheld beveled edge cuter that gives you that 45° angle.
the mail thing from target - why do thrift stores put their extra sticky price stickers on the front of things. especially textile things that maybe will get ruined by removing the adhesive. drives me crazy!
Agreed. On the pedestal bowl, I ended up having to remove an annoying sticker from one thrift store and then remove permanent marker from the underside from another thrift store 😅
@@TashaatHome I have a patinad silver bowl that was a golf trophy of my dads, I just don't have enough surfaces yet in my house to display it, but thank you for reminding me of it! my husband and I don't golf but live in a golf community. my dad actually played here once. Would have been super cool if the trophy was from this club, but alas it's not.
I’ve learned to be careful with the stickers, because more than once, I’ve purchased something and then brought it home and found that the sticker had been placed over a chip or a flaw.
I agree! On occasion I take the item to the register and point out the sticker or staple that they used to mar the item… And that I won't be able to purchase it for that reason. Then of course, I follow through and do not buy it😬
I too am working on updating our home decor with items we already have. It’s such a cost effective way to refresh a space. And like you said, a good reminder to be thankful for what we already have 😊
I love the 1st stool you used. Thrifting can be be a big hit and miss and the prices they.put on some items is unbelievable. Just being patient really helps trying to find that specific items. TFS Great video. ❤😊
Hi Tasha! My favor stool in your dining room is is the stool with is wicker one. It looks so vintage and looks great. I love your home. Have a blessed day. 🙂❤️🙂❤️
As always the best inspiration! The black matting looks beautiful! Perfect example of why I enjoy your channel so much! You have a keen eye for unique and beautiful things. TFS
You have quickly become one of my favorites here on RUclips! That’s because, not only do you stay on trend, but the stuff you find is not cookie cutter, like a lot of the other popular influencers on here. That’s what makes your style so much better! It’s not the same Target, Hobby Lobby, Michael’s finds that everyone else has. You always find such great stuff and you style it so well! I really look forward to your posts!! 🫶🏼 P.S. I love both stools, but maybe the African stool is a little better.
Yes please! I love the perspective of gratitude, as well as original decor. So much of the same style, I like to see more individuality from designers. Love that you left the patina on your silver.
I love that you have a scripture verse on your site, and as usual you styled everything beautifully. Thank you for showing us that you can have a beautiful home on a budget.
Nice finds!!! Love both stools but the crock looks better on the second stool. Really unique and beautiful!! In that corner. Love the dough bowl!! Beautiful!!
I like the birthing chair (what an amazing find!) better with the thyme plant. It seems a little less busy, but they both look good. The other stool is a nice piece too.
The birthing stool is so unique! What a great find. You must absolutely use the silver pedestal in some way. It is too pretty to just be on a shelf. I like the fruit bowl idea. 😊
Tasha, I recently discovered your channel and have watched all of your videos! I love your style and calm demeanor and you have helped me focus in on my own style and decorating goals. Keep up with the good work!
Hi Tasha! Happy New Year!!!! Loved your video as usual, i like the Market place stool the best for your room. I haven't been thrifting for ages, but yet again, you have inspired me ❤❤. Hope all ok with you and your family. Best wishes from Caroline in the UK x
oh whoops I meant to write I love the unique one, the last one you filmed!!! So stunning, though I’ll be honest you can’t go wrong with either I’ve just been struggling with finding good stuff. Also I’ve been on the search for frames and I’ve been struggling there as well! But I’ll keep looking. That pedestal bowl is perfect, way to go!!! I love the direction you’re going, same vibes here!!! Love it all I’ll be going thrifting later today, hopefully a different day and time will get me something good!!
Hi Tasha!!! Happy New Year!!!! I've really been focusing a lot lately on using what I already have...clearing out what I don't want....revamping or repurposing items to my style and to fit my needs...... I'm ready to go thrifting, but at the same time, I'm also ready to just .....breathe in what I already have.....I will be honest tho, I'm always that person who is afraid of "missing out" on something really cool at the thrift stores! LOL I need to get past that....ok, your stools....I love them both but the one with the reed on it is more my style. I think either could work in your space so I say go with what you wanna see everyday!!! Oh girl, I'm excited for 2025 and I hope everyone else is too!!!!! A year of peace, growth, love, joy, faith and building relationships!!!!!!! Take care Tasha and be blessed!!!!!!! ❤
I love your focus on using what you have and repurposing - it's such a refreshing and mindful approach and one that I have in mind too. However, I also have a channel and need to make some videos, haha! But I made a resolution for myself to not stress about it this year. Thanks about the stools, and for all the kind words!
Thank you, Tasha. I was surprised at the prices in the first thrift store - they looked like “normal” shop prices! The African stool is the better of the two; it seems to show off the little plant much better than the other - though the other is a lovely piece as well!
Hi Tasha I'm a new subscriber and I'm so happy I found your channel! Your videos have been so helpful so far, especially "How to get a Cohesive, Curated Home". So Thankyou!
Hi Tasha. I thought the artwork with the black matting, and the dining room curtains looked stunning together. Well, great video as always, and have a great rest of your week.
I did my first thrift shop this week after having not been in years! Picked up some nice curtains and they are now up in my living room. Will continue to curate a theme of style throughout my home and only buying low to elevate my home this year.
Love your videos and look forward to them. I just wanted to share a quick fyi. You can go into any frame shop, like Michael’s, with the dimensions of what you need and have them do a single cut mat only. It is so inexpensive to just get the mat and it really upscales your art. I’m a former art teacher so I learned how to cut matting myself but I hate it. I always get Michael’s to cut my mats for my personal work and then recycle a frame. If you’re careful, you can store the mat when you grow tired of the art and get even more value for it
I've always liked the birthing stool because of its uniqueness. That being said, I think the plant looks better with the other one. Then I went back and reviewed them again and changed my mind. Lol Thanks as always.
Always enjoy your videos! I would have never thought not to polish the silver pedal bowl, but I love the look and how you styled it!!! I also love the rosemary corner. ❤
Yes to the fork and spoon!!! We bought ours when we lived in Taiwan and they lived in our dining room (lol) for a few years afterwards. Totally not my style but I do smile every time I see them.
Nice video. I agree with you on upscaling some decor pieces. It takes time. I have the first stool in my kitchen against a brick wall. It’s perfect. I down scaled something recently. I purchased a white ceramic head planter at hobby lobby. I put a vining plant in it and love it. Sometimes it’s fun to have something unique.
Good morning Tasha, So funny, I remember that episode of Everybody Loves Raymond 😂so true about the big fork and spoon. I think I like the African birthing stool because it is more unique. But I do like the texture the other stool brings to the space. You could always change it out when you need a refresh. As always, love your videos. Have a great day!🌻💕Dee
I think that the birthing stool is stunning & so unique 😍 But honestly both options are beautiful. Happy thrifting & I hope this coming week is better for finding!
The gift of thrifting is you don't have to buy everything that is "pretty"!!! Only buy what fit into your home design style!!!! I had to learn this the hard way!!!!! Buying things that wouldn't fit my decor!!!! Wasted money!!! Now I return these items from Goodwill for new items!!!! It is ok to leave a thrift store with an empty basket!!!! No regrets!!! Thank you for sharing!!! God Bless!!!
Hi beautiful Tasha…Our Goodwill actually had a lot of donated items, but the only things I picked up were these little modern wooden trees that I use in our Winter decor. It is freezing here, icy and we still have snow so I just left out neutral wintery stuff. I very seldom find the things you find. They send the good stuff to Ebay😢. They finally had to lower their prices on home goods ,because people were not buying I love that you love to change things around too. I love the artwork you chose and the framing you do is excellent. I love the black. I love the second unique stool. Wow, the dough bowl is gorgeous. I don’t know , it look authentically old …but you never know. I hope someone knows. That was a great price The estate people take a few weeks off this time of year and we are ready for them to start back up. My brother said their part of NC had some snow…did you. The kids around here were off two weeks for holidays and another week because there was thick ice under the snow..and still is in lots of place. I hope your thrift stores get better. It is always good to “see” you. ❤❤❤❤
Hello from Dallas! I am a huge fan of your videos and decor style❤️ I like stool #2 and what a conversation piece it will be. Also love the xl wooden bowl. I have a large sized carved wood bowl but yours is much larger than mine. Also love the silver patina pedastal bowl. I always stop and look at the silver section at resale shops!
Hello! 👋🏼 Thanks very much! I really appreciate it 😊 It's just the sort of thing I was looking for. I actually passed the aisle it was on, then I happened to see it from the backside through the next aisle. Woohoo!
One of the reasons I love your videos and style is your thought process. How you cultivate and show your viewers how stylish your home can become by doing this. I am SOOOO over watching videos on Target hauls and Temu halls. Both companies lack a moral compass imo. It is all just cheap china made crap. Lovely finds and ideas. Love the first stool a bit more prob because of it having 2 textures.
Yes I could do a paint wash over the seat to make it more neutral and that would probably work well. I have done it on many items. Maybe I'll do it on this one. Thanks for watching!
Silver plate items have been catching my eye lately. Waiting to find just the right piece for my home. I have had really good luck the past few weeks with thrifting for my vintage booth and for our home. Not really a fan of those round pillows. The only place I could see those would be in a sports themed boys room. Both of the stools look great! Happy Thrifting.
Thank you! Hope you find a great silver piece soon. And right, the sphere pillows do look like some sort of kickballs! I never cared for them even when they were in all the gorgeous photos.
Hi Tasha, my thrifting adventures have also been sparse for the last two weeks !!! Hopefully that will change soon 😁. I really liked the birthing stool as the holder for the thyme plant, I liked the openness, the height and it’s uniqueness. Have a great week happy treasure hunting 😊❣️
Hey! I love both stools… they are gorgeous. I also really love that big doe bowl as well! You have a lot of amazing pieces. I also am doing more curated and custom pieces that I need and make me happy. I’ve not had luck lately at the thrift stores here either. I’m really sick of their price gouging on many items!
I think the quality / selection of homegoods at the thrift store depends on what city you're shopping in. Also, the prices have gotten ridiculous. I am going to check out the GW bins outlet for the first time today. I'm hoping to find QL basic clothing items, coffee table books and a couple large vases similar to what you've shown here. 🤞
Hey Tasha 👋 Raymond 😆 i ❤ that show. I dont like those sphere pillows at all. I like both stools , but that birthing stool is gorgeous! I have been incorporating bits of silver lately too & loving it. ❤ That little silver tray so much !!! Have a great week , my friend
Raymond: me too! It and Frasier are my favorite re-run type shows 😊 Thank you and I really love the silver tray too! I almost didn't get it for some reason... not sure what I was thinking (actually I was probably just distracted by a little helper 😂) but glad I brought it home.
Hi Tasha! New subbie here and avid thrifter local to the Triangle. You hit a lot of my favorite spots! 🥰 I just acquired my grandmother’s spoon and fork.
Love it!! I keep meaning to ask you what color you painted your front (interior side) door! You said it had undertones of green, I am curious how it would look on my door with all the green I'm incorporating in accents. Thanks!
Thanks! That paint color is called Ethereal Mood by Sherwin-Williams 🤗😊 It has a fairly cool green undertone so it may not look great with greens that have a warm yellow undertone but might look awesome with neutral or cool tones greens.
I love the birthing stool, but I feel like the other goes better with the room. On another note, we live in Michigan, but frequently travel to WNC and I absolutely love the thrift and antique stores there. Anytime I see them we stop and I find much better items than I do in Michigan and prices are better mostly.
My first thrifting trip of 2025 was last weekend. I did find some beautiful frames but pickings were slim for me too. Maybe people just are starting to declutter and it will be better in a week or two. Also, I heard Goodwill is discontinuing their color tag sales. As if their prices weren’t high enough already. Loved the video as always!
I hope so! As for tag colors I am aware that some areas do them but funny enough our Goodwill has never done it. They are part of different chains in different areas and ours has never had fun sales. Ah well!
try increasing the width of the mat below the image. that is the standard in art museums and galleries and I think you will find it more pleasing to the eye.
The hardest thing with thrifting a collected look for our homes is having the discipline to wait to find just the right items to bring home. I think cultivating that discipline is good for us😊
Agreed!! 💯
True, but I’m tired of not finding what I’m looking for! Lol
You are right, it is hard to pass something up when it is beautiful or unique. I have to keep telling myself “just because I like it and it’s a good price doesn’t mean that I have to buy it” 🤪
Love your thoughts at the end. May we all be thankful for what we have & for the process.

I think the birthing stool actually had a better proportion to the corner. It’s so unique, too.
Thank you! I love it 😻

I prefer the facebook marketplace stool with the plant in the corner. I really like your dough bowl find! Always look forward to your videos.
Thank you!! :)
The birthing stool is something that I have never seen and I think it is fabulous in the corner with the plant.
Thanks! Yes I had never seen one like it either!

Thank you very much! 😊
African stool is different and I like❤
Thanks!
Ha - yeah - understand how timing can be off for finding things easily. Love the artwork - prefer the all wood base for the potted thyme.
Thank you!
Your thrift store has a lot more quality items. I enjoy your hauls.
Thank you so much! 😊
Hi! I like the African stool better. Very unique!
Thank you so much! It is a unique piece!
I've always liked the birthing stool because of its uniqueness. That being said, I think the plant looks better with the other one. Then I went back and reviewed them again and changed my mind. Lol Thanks as always.
Haha, I know what you mean - it's hard to choose! 😊 Thank you as always!!

I see a set a couple times a year probably and each time I do they make me smile too. 😊 Thank you for watching!
That dough bowl is AMAZING! 😍 Always love your videos and ideas 😊
Thanks so much! I think so too, I love that bowl! 😊
The birthing stool ! So unique !

Good morning Tasha,
So funny, I remember that episode of Everybody Loves Raymond 😂so true about the big fork and spoon. I think I like the African birthing stool because it is more unique. But I do like the texture the other stool brings to the space. You could always change it out when you need a refresh.
As always, love your videos.
Have a great day!🌻💕Dee
Thanks, Dee! So right. It's nice to switch things around anyway. I'm glad you liked the video 😊
Beautiful
Thank you so much! 😊
The pattern on that dough bowl is unique as is its patina. It enhances your shelf the way you have it displayed.
Thank you! I love finding unique pieces with character like that 😊
I like the one you got from Facebook marketplace! I want one for myself lol!
That birthing stool is so cool. I have really been striking out at the thrift store too lately 😞
Better luck to us both next week!

Thanks so much, I really appreciate you subscribing! 😊
I liked the second stool better. Loved that big bowl! I don't go to Hobby Lobby, but I will go by there and check to see what they have.
I really like the florals from Hobby Lobby, and the fact that there's always a lot in sale for at least 40% off😊

Thanks! That one was a great find, and at a farmhouse right up the road from me, woo!
Love thrifting I find some good items sometimes. I love your decor ❤❤
Thanks so much! 😊 Wishing you another good find soon!
I like the Facebook Marketplace stool. I wonder if there's a way to make the straw less yellow, more taupe?
Yes I could do a paint wash over the seat to make it more neutral and that would probably work well. I have done it on many items. Maybe I'll do it on this one. Thanks for watching!
I like the Marketplace stool best for the corner.
I like the "birthing" (3 legged) stool for the plant.
Thanks! I think the audience is split pretty much evenly so far! :) Thank you for watching!
Yes, the big fork and spoon 😂 Quite popular in the 70’s, in fact, they made them out of plaster and you could paint your own! 😂
Hah, nice! I didn't know that. Every once in a while I find a set 😊
Haha yes my mom had a wooden fork and spoon in our kitchen growing up!
It was a necessity!! ☺️
Me too, I think it's the perfect spot for the thyme! Thanks for watching and happy hunting to you too! 😊
I found a wooden bowl on a pedestal and I love it . I found it at g.w.
That sounds beautiful! I love finding unique pieces like that.
Thanks so much! I hear you; it can be discouraging to see higher prices that take the fun out of it. But I still find some treasures!
Love the video! As for the stools, I prefer the marketplace stool for the size and placement of the tree in your dining area.
Thank you! I'm still going back and forth but I do like the shape of that one for sitting the crock on a bit better. 😊
❤ the African stool.
Thanks!
Hey Tasha 👋
Raymond 😆 i ❤ that show.
Welcome, I’m so glad you found me! And I love that you got your grandmother’s spoon and fork! ☺️
I am familiar with the ELR episode. That's funny that you referenced that. 😆
I would angle the unidentifiable bowl so that the handle is seen more in the upper corner of the shelf. It's really beautiful.
Love the silver bowl. I only like silver a lot of patina!
Yes, that patina is great. It adds character!
Not a fan of the sphere Boucle pillows either. And both stools were awesome, especially the second one. So unique.
Thank you! I thought so too :)
Yes. Everybody loves Raymond was the first thing I thought of also.😊
Haha yay! I love it.
My mom definitely had the huge wooden fork and spoon hanging in our dining room!
Ours too! 😊
I like the first stool better!!
I love the birthing stool, but I feel like the other goes better with the room.
On another note, we live in Michigan, but frequently travel to WNC and I absolutely love the thrift and antique stores there. Anytime I see them we stop and I find much better items than I do in Michigan and prices are better mostly.
Thanks! And oh that's nice! We are more central--I need to venture west again soon and take a look :)
I appreciate the suggestion! I'll try it out!
I love the stool. It has a very Japanese look about it, at least for me. The stool from Etsy.
I know what you mean. It's the shape of the seat!
😊❤
Both corners look great but I like the one with the African birthing stool the best
Loved your video. But many of the thrift prices were shocking. It's been a while since I've gone thrifting so I was surprised.
Yes, I was surprised at some of them too! It seems like everything is more expensive now.
Where did you get your console? Beautiful.
Thanks! It's from Nathan James: nathanjames.com/products/wood-fluted-2-door-storage-cabinet-jasper?variant=40258346254422&
Oh my word yes! I remember that episode of Everybody Loves Raymond! 😂
I've seen them all so many times! 😂
@@TashaatHomeMe too. Remember the Thanksgiving episode - Tofurky? 😂
@@samanthawaddle2639 Oh yes 😂 I literally own the whole series on DVD and have watched them so much I am probably an expert, LOL. That and Frasier!
Love all your pictures and frames. Do you print them at home with a special printer or do you have them printed at a big box store?
Thank you! I have them printed out at either CVS or Walgreens actually! You can do photo sizes or poster sizes, which is how I do the larger ones. 😊
@ thank you. Once I figure what frames I like I’ll need to look for some prints.
