      It's interesting to think about how the constellation of Taurus is one of the oldest known and that people that are born under its zodiac sign are often told they are old souls. At least in my experience.

    Hello, I usually educate myself while i ironing by watching videos & i love learning about Science, its fascinating. I happen to stumble across this video at the time 4.44pm which to me is a sign & message from spirit that im heading in the the right direction to discovering where i come from. Just a question as im new to all this but is the 7 sisters, what we would described as Heaven? I searched the 7 seven sisters due to another u tube channel i watch & it mentions that this is where we come from.

    • @learnthesky
      @learnthesky  7 лет назад +3

      Hi Debbie, thanks for your message. The Seven Sisters star cluster, commonly known as Pleiades, is one that has been associated with heaven and deities from various cultures all throughout human history. I focus more on the scientific data of the stars rather than the mythology and astrology of them, so I couldn't really answer if this is where we come from. I feel the stars do connect us as humans, as our stories of the past have been passed down using the sky. My hope is to connect more people and encourage them to look at the stars and learn more about what they are seeing. Keep searching for your answers!

      @learnthesky  8 лет назад

      Hi Cesar. Aloha from Hawaii! Thanks for your message, I'm glad you find this video helpful. I'll be posting more here as I create videos. In terms of binoculars, you could probably go a big higher in magnification. Mine are 15x70, and I have been really happy with them. I bought a tripod for it too, but it can be clumsy because the binoculars are so heavy.
      Here is the one I use:
      www.amazon.com/dp/B00008Y0VN/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2SEVR7MHJCU8Q&coliid=I22IVJOOJNGB0M&psc=1

    Can you please explain the difference between the variations of the appearance of Taurus constellation (3 or 4 lines - 4th towards Pleiades)? Which one is the most accurate?

    • @learnthesky
      @learnthesky  4 года назад

      The challenge with some constellations is that there can be lots of variation seen in the depiction of star patterns. I usually refer to the official constellation boundaries released by the International Astronomical Union. However, many cultures around the world seen different patterns. Sometimes I don’t always see the official pattern but something else. I recommend using maps as a guide, but just know that variation exists.

    I always believed that Orion and Taurus are rivals. Facing each other in battle when Orion sits upright. Taurus stands between Pleiades (The Seven Sisters) and Orion, protecting them because Orion desires and pursues them. Also protecting them are Pleione and Atlus, Pleiades's parents. If I'm not mistaken, I'm quite sure Pleione and Atlus sits to the lower left of Pleiades, just above Taurus.

    • @learnthesky
      @learnthesky  7 лет назад +1

      Yes, I have heard they are rivals as well. As I was researching for this video, I found there are so many stories, and they vary depending on the culture and origin. Thanks for sharing the story you are familiar with.

      Yes, it is possible. In Hawaii, I see Taurus in the very early evening during the spring. Since I am closer to the equator (19 degrees north latitude), I can see the Taurus well into the spring. Are you located in the United Kingdom as your comment suggests? At what time are you seeing Taurus? Hopefully you can see the Seven Sisters star cluster.

    • @roboticbob352
      @roboticbob352 7 лет назад

      Also I wonder, when dark first comes in there Is a red star to the left of Taurus left horn star, if you hold a ruler up its about 9 inch to left of Taurus left horn star, but it moves from left to right a lot faster than constellations do, and it's not a planet because I have planet tracker app , Nd there are no e near at that time????

    • @learnthesky
      @learnthesky  7 лет назад

      Aldebaran i(Al-DEB- bar-on) is the red star of Taurus. It is often referred to as the red eye of the bull. It is very close to the Pleiades right now (date 4/7/17). If you notice an object that moves more than the background stars, it is most likely a planet.
      The word 'planet' itself means 'wanderer' so if you notice a star that doesn't follow the consistent star patterns, it is likely a planet.
