- Scorpius is one of the most recognizable constellations if you are in a good location to see it. It is a zodiacal constellation that is best seen in the summer months in the northern hemisphere. The legends of Scorpius are often connected to Orion in Greek mythology, but there are many more legends of this constellation that span across many cultures.

For me, Scorpius is a very easy to spot constellation! And sometimes I call it the Hook of Maui from Moana.
It looked like a high heeled shoe to me
Great! 👏👏. That’s one of the constellations I can see clearly here in the Southern Hemisphere. It’s one of my favorite. I loved this video.
Great video. Antares being a navigational star, I've been teaching myself Scorpius this summer. This video is great timing
I had an excellent view of Scorpius at work tonight...and I found it straight away thanks to your video! Love the channel btw
One fond memory I have of Scorpius ♏ was flying from Rio de Janeiro to Madrid with Iberia overnight and mid Atlantic there was Scorpius hanging in the sky.I'm not sure how far north we where but guessing over the Equator.Rather a magical moment linking us to the universe.
Scorpius is definitely one of my favorites. There is no mistaking that pattern in the sky!
Scorpius is one of my favourite constellations! And recently, I've managed to capture Scorpius' head!!
Killer video. Thank you for drawing them out and placing in relation to other constellations.
so much detail, I found new interesting things that I want to look up and dive into 😍 subscribed
These videos remind me of my teen years when we visited my great grandpa's house out in the country. We could see light pollution from the few nearby villages, but it hardly obstructed the dramatic sky- the Milky Way, orbiting satelites, tiny and small meteorites... stuff you didn't see as clearly in the night sky in the suburbs and even worse in the big city. Having a telescope and watching planets was fantastic. But clearly seeing the night sky... you hardly had to have a sky map if you have a good visual memory. All this gives perspective to our place in the universe. Keep up the great videos ! !
Great. Fascinating. Love your voice!
Thanks for the vid! I am excited to go see it.
💙💙love to you
May God bless you
Keep your work on ❤
i am curious about scorpion and here i am.
amazing video
This video is really well done. Thank you for making it.
Thank you for your support. I appreciate it!
Last night I was looking at this, and knew it was something important. Thanks.
I'm from India, west bengal and it's summer here now. Will start watching from today 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Love your videos👍
VERY NICE. Ever since I watched your Antares video, I got hooked observing it. I thought that area I'm looking at is just polluted or something, now I know what's the story!
This content is freakin amazing!!! Mahalo sacred sol siStar!🙏💙🎶
I’m a Scorpio because I was born 11-14-2004 lol I love astronomy I look at the stars every clear starry night with my Orion astronomy 25x100 binoculars and it’s so beautiful in winter I see the Orion Nebula and andromeda galaxy and the pleiades star cluster and in the summer time I see this constellation Scorpius, and it’s nebula and globular star cluster and whirlpool galaxy, and the bodes galaxy and Lara constellation, and the star Vega, and the helix nebula and the ring nebula and the constellation Sagittarius and I see it’s nebula called the lagoon nebula and the trifid nebula and the eagle nebula and M4 globular star cluster lol
Here in the Philippines, near the equator, it's easy to spot in the night sky starting as early as February.
Anothet myth about it is that it's chasing Orion across the heavens with Sagittarius closing in on it.
Aloha from Kilauea (Kauai)! Mahalo Nui for such great, informative vids! Now if only the damn rain would stop!
Aloha! Thank you for your message! It's been ages since I've been to Kauai...II miss it! Hopefully you will get clear skies soon!
I’m in Hilo Hawaii. Super clear view. Beautiful 😻
Awesome channel 👍🏽😁
Antares is my favorite star 🌟 of this constellation
Really good , thanks
If you look at Antares, it is flanked by 2 stars, Their names are Al Niyat (Sigma) to the right and Alniyat (Tau) to the left. They both mean the arteries because Antares is well known as "the heart of the scorpion".
Wow, awesome. Thanks for this video. I am scorpion and like this video.👍🙏 Thanks
Informative
Thank you !
So i finally found this constellation🌞🌞🌞❤❤❤
They told me Julius Caesar had Scorpius' huge claws hacked off, and he turned them into Libra.
Hiroshi loves You I am currently working on a video for Libra, and I read something similar. It was during the Roman era and under the rule of Julius Caesar when Scorpius and Libra were separated.
@@learnthesky is it real in the history that these two zodiac signs were separated during Caesar time , pl explain in detail in ur video
@@kadiyalidurga I have read that it was during this time in which Libra and Scorpius were separated. Many of the star names in Libra are a direct reference to it once being a part of Scorpius. I will try to come up with some more details on this. Great question.
@@learnthesky thank you very much , i am from India always see for your videos , u are the best and learned a lot from ur knowledge .
wonderfull vide 🙏🙏🙏🙏
idk if this is why your here but if your here cause you read ‘Because of Scorpius’ on wattpad then i already know ur gonna be my bff
Would be great if you put timestamps to help our way through the video specially when the video is long! Loads of love❤️❤️
There are timestamps listed for the long videos. They are in the information part below the title. Sometimes you need to expand the menu. Hope that helps! 😊
♏️ Scorpio (October 23 - November 22)
Not astrology in astronomy
I love your voice..❤❤❤
I see this every 5 am..here i philippines.
Thanks
When i was little i used to make a question mark out of it
since i see no libra video i’m commenting it here

I was looking and looking for Scorpius on my Planisphere and could not find it. Then I flipped it over to the Southern Sky and went, "OH shoot, there it is! I live at 32 degrees latitude so have a 30-40 degree planisphere. It is not going to be high up in the sky at this latitude for very long is it?
I really think it depends on where you. For me, I cannot see Scorpius well because there is a mountain in the way, but when I view it from my sister's house, I can see the whole thing. I am able to see Scorpius in its entirety at 42 degree latitude north, so you should hopefully be able to see it if you have a clear horizon looking south. Good luck!
That shape of this constellation looks like the contour of the country of Vietnam.
Lady, how about you start with which direction I should be looking at to begin with, East, West, North or South
Hook of maui 😍❣️
I am from India, when and where can I see scorpius constellation. Can scorpius constellation be seen during winter season.?
Though I am Aries but I love scorpius constellation for Antares. And wish to see it from India with my eyes.
Hello ! 👋 India is located in the northern hemisphere between 8-37 latitude, so you would be able to see Scorpius during the summer season. Antares is a beautiful star. Check out this video where I discuss Antares a bit: ruclips.net/video/6F2Wke8hBYc/видео.html
@@learnthesky Dhanyawaad mam (Thank you in English) for the answer..
This is my zodiac sign
♥️♥️✨✳️✴️⭐
I love this.. but i can only see orion & canis major constillation from here... im scorpio zodiac btw UwU
Scorpius is one of my favorite constellations. I'll never forget the first time I saw it when I first moved to Hawaii. I got off the plane, walked on the tarmac, and immediately saw it. I hope you get to see it someday.
I know it was already 5 months ago, but...
Well.. Orion and Scorpius can't be seen at the same time in the night sky.
I am proud to Ethiopian because many constellation discovered by ancient Ethiopia
I am in New Zealand what time of year for viewing Scorpius constellation would be best?
Go to the Stellarium website and download the free program onto your viewing device. Scorpius for you is a Winter constellation and I'd guess from your latitudes its viewing times would be about the same as here. June through September, longer if you don't mind getting up early.
I am able to see Scorpius now when I get up before dawn, but I can't see it for very long since it stars to get light outside. Summer months are the best for seeing Scorpius. Kia Ora
I saw scorpio every morning 4 am.

What are the days the sun spends in Scorpio
Depends year by year because of Solar Progression or the fact that Jan, 16th in 2011 was a Sunday, but in 2012 it was a Monday. There are charts for Astrology, the harbinger of Astronomy for checking dates and days every year.
Also HOW many days the Sun is in Scorpio also varies!!
In Western astrology it's from October 23 to November 22. But in sidereal time used in Hindu astrology, it's from approximately November 16 to December 15. Big difference eh?
BUT WAIT! There is more soothsaying esoterica to help clear OR muddle the 'progression'.
IN REAL TIME in 2021 the Sun entered Scorpio on Nov. 23, but was only there until Nov. 30 when it entered Ophiuchus.
NOW if you do not count Ophiuchus as a Zodiacal constellation like NASA and astronomers do, the Sun entered Sagittarius on 18th of Dec. 2021.
So only true Scorpios were born in a 7 day period or a 7+17=24 day period. So no matter which way you want to count it Astrology is rather mixed up claiming it is 30 days from the wrong day to the wrong day again. How truly esoteric don't you think?
Does that answer your question Stephen Brown?
Why are there so many different images of what Scorpius constellation looks like? Is this one 100 Percent correct? Im doing my research
I’m am not sure why there are so many interpretations of Scorpius and all the other constellations. The star patterns I use come from the International Astronomical Union (IAU) which is what astronomers use. The IAU designated the patterns in 1929. However, there are so many interpretations of the constellations throughout time and they vary by culture, too.
Ah yes, Skorpius
But sadly it's very hard to see the stars even today too much light goes up in the skies
Yes, it is sad. There are areas around the globe that have designated dark sky areas. I hope more effort in the future is made to protect the night sky. Light pollution has gotten even worse since some cities are switching to LED lights for street lights.
It looks like a high heeled shoe
It does! I haven’t noticed that pattern before. I love when others share what they see. Thank you!
I see this everynight
how to do it easy, look at the sun
Cat's Paw Nebula - NGC 6334 and Bug Nebula - NGC 6302, are Satan's home ( as nebula 's pictures looks that they are grounding cats and chicken DNA -s of creations in those nebula, this event will foreshadow very small chance for cats and chicken to survive on planet Earth ). Antares is one of mine favorite star , in spirituality Antares keeps human heart in excellent health. In habitable zone of Antares , live very stylish , mysteriousness and advanced alien civilization , and planets there are home to trillions scorpions creatures. Great way of teaching constellations, supreme pictures of stars and nebula.
I find this very interesting about Antares and the advanced alien civilization home to millions of scorpion creatures. I would love to learn more.
YEAR OF THE SHEEP:(A,E,I,O AND U)
You have no idea what your really looking at.
Everything you think you know is wrong
😁ok,so whats right ?
SCORPIUS IS THE WORST THING EVER!!!!!!!!!!!
