I agree with SmellsLikeLithium. I personally love Puzzle and have listened to all of the songs from all the other albums on youtube and I love them too. If Puzzle hadn't topped the charts everyone would be saying that they were still classic Biffy. I think people think that they turned into a pop band when they became succesful, which of course isn't true.
@tommok im fairly new to biffy, and therefore love there new music, but.. i'm now starting to look at old school biffy and some of there harder stuff, not usually my scene but cant help but fallf in love with the biff!!!
Yeah definitely, there are still quite a few songs that pack the awesomeness in, but none of the newer stuff is as crazy as the old songs, none have those twists and turns like this and Toys have, where it's like a musical journey.
Last night at the Olympia me and my mates were screaming at James during the whole gig to play this - one guy wrote JAGGY SNAKE on his arms and we held him up for the band to see - they sorta gave us a "no can do" look and played The Captain :P
People who listen to biffys' album and slag it , have clearly never seen them live, in the flesh where u can see the whites of there eyes, the emotion the intent , the passion is up there with the best!
@jamscones92 absolutely, i was at leeds and went mental for jaggy snake and thought they played it really well, but this is so much more epic, i hope their live performances arent deteriorating with their age!
Yeah I saw them in Seattle and they played only Puzzle except for Glitter and Trauma to end the night. It was a great experience, don't get me wrong. Just hoping for some of their old stuff.
agreed, but dont generalise on 'old' biffy fans. puzzle was a brilliant album but in a different way to their earlier work, thus resulting in them appealing to a whole new range of fans, most of which cant appreciate their earlier stuff. i love the fact that biffy have taken a new direction with their music because it makes it all the sweeter when they do, and they will eventually, perform their earlier tracks for us. Mon the Biff
i saw them at reading it was a bit of a blur . All i remember them playing was saturday superhouse and machines cos i was spending all my energy not getting mashed in the pit
It's funny, it's more painful now that he doesn't, I just heard that Stinging Belle single they just released, and I really miss stuff like Jaggy Snake here, they're just no the same.
Ha, Jaggy Snake... epic song love everything from the riffs to the lyrics, but the mosh pit is almost magical... if Harry Potter were a boxer... random lol, by the way what do you guys think of Biffy's cover of Take Me Out?, I just heard it,... nearly fell over with over gasping. :]
puzzle was as good as the rest in my opinion, every track on it was great. the only reason some people don't like puzzle is because it got too popular, if it didn't get to 1 in the charts you would all praise it
did anyone called James Simpson lose their ID while in the mosh pit at reading? I still have it :) they were epic at Reading, shame about the mainly Puzzle set :(
@swopitnow its actually epic isnt it. like if you listen to all the "screamo" bands like alexisonfire for example (not dissing them cos i quite like them), theyre not actually screaming to me, theyre just making a type of sound with some part of their voice box - it doesnt sound like a genuine scream. THIS however, is the most real scream you can get, its so natural and yet more epic because you believe it more! sorry for the analysis btw lol, i just think its a valid point.
@tommok It's so annoying because their new stuff isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination, it's far better than a massive majority of the stuff that's already out there. I just think people can't handle that bands have to progress and change, every album Biffy have released has been different. They didn't sell out, I just think they wanted to do something different and maybe it's something that meant more to them. The fact they did shows their progression and variation. MON THE BIFF.
@tommok old biffy fans like maself resent people who say biffy have changed - and that its a bad thing. i really love all their stuff. I have my favourites, but hes 10 years older than me and i love the stuff he wrote when he was my age y know what i mean? I REALLY LIKE "onasundays" comment.(mon the Jimmy eat world ) lol
i could imagine that maybe simon felt like he couldnt do the screaming that night. i mean ive heard them play this a few times so maybe it was that. i mean screaming like that must be well hard ey?
Yeah you could be right, but then again bear in mind how much screaming there is on Vertigo of Bliss and Infinity Land - he must have a technique whereby it doesn't stress his voice too much. Plus bands like Enter Shikari and Fellsilent do it all the time ... not the cool yelping style Simon has though :)
i love this song but you just cant listen to it without listening to theres no such man as crasp..........you just cant do it!!!! mon the fucking biffy
saw biffy at reading technically perfect as usually, shame puzzle is a shit album, disgraceful to see when they played 57 at the end (only old song played) people were leaving or looking dismayed could not understand where this song came from i would pay doule to see biffy do old albums i dont think i would ever pay to see puzzle same story as foo fighter sellouts
i just love how this song completely chills out at 1.47
infinity land is my favourite album of theirs, and this song sounds amazing live.
This is one of the greatest songs ever written by any band.
this could possible be one of the best youtube vids. period
Crazy song! Love the music & Biffy
Best performance of this I think I've ever seen, shame they don't do their old stuff as much anymore. New stuff is still awesome :D
This song is so breathtaking!
Amazing performance!

I wish Simon screamed more in their recent songs
Great live band.

Fair play! Obiviously they think Scottish people know their older stuff better...but we Irish want to hear it as well
they played it at Norwich this time, it was amazing!
I'm the only person on youtube to have a full guitar cover of this :D
Good for you, Rob.
this song is so fucking mental live. everyone just explodes. its fucking insane. i love it! :D
holy crap, they kick live! i gotta me to a show...
mon the biff!
I really wish i went there.
I used to hate this song, but now its possibly my fave, 'mon the biffy
People who listen to biffys' album and slag it , have clearly never seen them live, in the flesh where u can see the whites of there eyes, the emotion the intent , the passion is up there with the best!
Couldn't have put it better myself.
Mon the motherfuckin' Biffy!
❤️
well said
we can hope that their set will become more varied in the future. Their still on a post-Puzzle high. Tattoos and all.
@jamscones92 absolutely, i was at leeds and went mental for jaggy snake and thought they played it really well, but this is so much more epic, i hope their live performances arent deteriorating with their age!

I almost have been killed by Simon's awesomeness.

Biffy Said He Just Wrote These Lyrics (The Intro Anyways) Ten Minutes Before They Recorded It :L
i could imagine that maybe simon felt like he couldnt do the screaming that night. i mean ive heard them play this a few times so maybe it was that. i mean screaming like that must be well hard ey?
Simons scream are particularly sick here...

mon the fucking biffy
You missed "make".
FREAK OUT!
The new album has it's moments, but I think we can all agree Stingin Belle is pretty shite.
Matt Cardle is covering this next christmas.
Is it really necessary to capitalize every word?
saw biffy at reading technically perfect as usually, shame puzzle is a shit album, disgraceful to see when they played 57 at the end (only old song played) people were leaving or looking dismayed could not understand where this song came from i would pay doule to see biffy do old albums i dont think i would ever pay to see puzzle same story as foo fighter sellouts
I Like Stingin belle, I dont like victory over the sun
This is one of the greatest songs ever written by any band.
