This is one of my favorite movies & i would watch my cousin quote this movie line for line growing up. Watching The Making Of The Five Heartbeats Documentary made me appreciate this movie even more. Leon was in Madonna’s Like A Prayer video. Here are some fun facts: Prior to this movie Robert Townsend was in Cooley High, The Warriors, A Soldier’s Story, Odd Jobs & Hollywood Shuffle. Leon was in All The Right Moves, Colors & The Women Of Brewster Place, Tico Wells appeared on 227 along with the real life Joe Clark & Michael Wright appeared on Miami Vice, V The Original Mini Series & The Principal. Troy Beyer was in Disorderlies & she appeared on A Different World. She went on to write the movie B.A.P.S. which mirrors Disorderlies. Robert Townsend is criminally underrated & doesn’t get the credit he deserves.

The Temptations never broke up, tho. They had many group members leave and join and eventually split into multiple touring group. But the group never broke up.
