- The Veracruz, Hyundai's flagship crossover prepares for the 2012 model year with a more imposing grille and new 18-inch hypersilver wheels adding to the sleek and modern styling. The seven-seat Veracruz also gets standard heated second row rear seats on the Limited trim and a new available Alpine navigation system. Meticulous attention to detail and an exceptionally high level of standard luxury, convenience and safety equipment all underpin Hyundai's commitment to exceeding the expectations of demanding crossover shoppers.
On the street, Veracruz offers capable, fuel-efficient performance courtesy of a modern 3.8-liter DOHC V6 engine. It delivers an estimated 260 horsepower and 257 lb-ft. of torque. To maximize torque across the rev range, the engine utilizes Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) on the intake valves and a Variable Intake System which helps cylinders breathe efficiently at both low and high rpm. The engine has an aluminum block and cylinder heads for light weight and thermal efficiency, and features a steel timing chain with no scheduled maintenance.
Hyundai offers an Intelligent Torque Controlled Coupling All Wheel Drive (AWD) system to propel Veracruz through the elements. Using wheel speed sensors to monitor the road and the driver, this electronic system can sense when and where more torque is required. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a multi-plate clutch without any extra effort from the driver. An AWD lock mode can be engaged with the touch of a button, providing a 50:50 torque ratio when needed at low speeds.

The reliability of this SUV is outstanding Amazing unbelievable , i use Valvoline high mileage Synthetic oil and Super unleaded Mobile gas the car performance is strong and go up to 25 miles for a gallon .

Hyundai's got a recall right now going on check into your Hyundai dealer it's behind what you asking I own a 2012 Hyundai Veracruz it's having the same problem

I have a diesel and I have to say that it is very cheap usually goes around 39 km per gallon and I have a Santa Fe also is economical in this I managed nearly 50 km per gallon but both are diesel

Problem is Hyundai and its other mfg Kia were caught lying about mpg on all their cars by as much as 8 miles per gallon(more than they actually get),the cars don't get the mpg the sticker says they get. And worse is that they've been pulling this for years. What else is hyundai lying about.
